Huh? What?

He squinted his eyes and read again.

What? His sister? He didn't have a sis—

His expression immediately turned solemn at a thought.

When his parents died, his mother was expecting, though he—through sensational news, in fact—found out only after their corpses were found.

They probably didn't know it themselves. He doubted his parents would've risked his mother going out if they knew she was pregnant.

Finn's jaw clenched. What did that mean? His sister was here? 20 years later? How was that even possible?

Durgan noticed the change in atmosphere around him. "Boss? Is there anything wrong?"

"I… well, no, it's nothing," he said. It wasn't like he could explain anything.

He skimmed the mission a few times, absorbing it. 144 hours, in this world, was less than five days from now!

Five days? He had five days?!

The trek to Lotus Town alone was around 2 days!

At this, to the surprise of his staff, he immediately ran out of the barrier.

To the top of his lungs, he called out Marcus and the others. "Wait!" he yelled, face pale and covered with sweat.

They were all startled, especially with his current appearance. Just a few minutes ago, he was perfectly fine.

"Did something happen?"

"Did you say you were going to Lotus Town?" he asked. "Let me come with you!"

"So suddenly?" Marcus asked, puzzled, but also pleasantly surprised. The others looked the same.

"Yeah, I remembered I had something to do there," he said. "We're going straight there, right? I'm kind of in a rush."

"Where in Lotus Town?"

"Just…, somewhere there.," he said, vaguely. He really didn't know how to explain it. Fortunately, the rest of them just accepted it, knowing it was a private matter.

"Oh, good! Register as an adventurer by the way," Marcus said as they headed forward.

"Ah, yes," if he remembered, he'd do that after. "Let me get some stuff first."

The group of them waited there while Finn rushed back to get his backpack. He also mentioned a couple of instructions to his staff, who he asked to stay there and take care of the place.

He also activated the Inn's invisible function. Although the effect would probably end days before he returned, this could at least ensure peace for a few days, ensuring that the barrier wouldn't get too damaged by his week of absence. He had to be within the barrier to make repairs, for now, so he didn't want it losing life while he was so far away.

It wasn't that he didn't trust Durgan, but he'd be alone in a fight, and he wasn't comfortable subjecting him to that.

As for the customers, they wouldn't be able to see it either, but they could bump into it or follow the paths they made. They would be blocked, but the staff could let them in manually.

Anyway, Finn didn't have the time or the willpower to care for anything else right now. His feet were moving on their own as he rushed out.

His heart clenched the more he thought of it, his eyes starting to feel extremely warm.

He had a sister!!

He still had a living relative!

It was the first time that Marcus and the others saw Finn's lackadaisical attitude completely disappear, fighting with monsters with a hurriedness and anxiety they had never seen on him before.

Before, even when they were in dire situations together, he was always the one to make jokes, make something light out of a heavy situation. Now, there was absolutely none of that.

Finn was desperate, especially when he saw the damned countdown reduce in numbers bit by bit, every step he took.

His sister, his only blood relative.

If he didn't make it in time, she would die.

One of the things he learned with the system was that it didn't lie, and the very thought made him anxious.

He didn't have a relative on earth—at least not one 'true' blood relative. Who'd have thought he could receive it in this alien world?

All this time, he had honestly believed that he would die without gaining a family.

A mob of brindlejaws and other awakened-level monsters appeared in front of him, and his halberd looked especially menacing.

He used his skills again, rushing to the enemies.

Marcus and the others could only follow his lead, fighting at the side or supporting him from afar. The halberd's reach was long, and they couldn't position too closely; however, they could prevent him from being mobbed, at least.

Leiah made sure to shoot down the monsters that'd get too close to injuring him, while the rest blocked and killed the other mobs with their own skills, taking them down.

Finn had really grown so much since they had first teamed up with him back then. It had only been a couple of weeks. How could a person grow so quickly?

Finn was unaware of the thoughts of his teammates; all he could remember was the damned countdown—the supposed countdown his sister had to live!

[Time limit: 143:21:11]

More than an hour had passed already since he had activated the mission, and this meant an hour shorter for his only blood relative.

And he got more and more impatient.

And he almost got injured because of it.

ROARRR!

Marcus kicked down one of the beasts that had almost bitten Finn's arm. Victor then went to him and gripped his shoulder tightly.

"Calm down, Finn! I don't know what you're in a hurry about, but being careless wouldn't hasten things! It could even delay it!"

"If you could tell us what's happening, maybe we can help you."

The atmosphere immediately turned awkward, and everyone looked at Finn in concern.

"My sister," he said, voice raspy. "I got word she's in Lotus Town, and she has less than five days to live."

"What?"

At this, Finn calmed just a bit, and he looked at the people around him, eyes a little damp. He bowed slightly, imploring them.

"Please help me."
