Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method

Chapter 142: The Pain of Ascension

Garion's body began to glow brighter as the ground trembled beneath him.

The air around him twisted, kicking up clouds of dust and broken debris that spiraled outward.

Raviel raised one arm to shield his face from the wind and flying dirt.

Even from above, he could feel that the energy bursting out of Garion's body wasn't normal.

Then suddenly, the light grew stronger, forcing Raviel to back up slightly.

"What the hell is this power? He's even pushing me back…?"

Back at the Revalis Clan's arena, elders and other members watching through the floating screen were in shock.

The image flickered as the pressure reached even the recording crystal.

"What's happening down there!?"

"How can the Patriarch be pushed back?!"

Meanwhile, on the flying ship above, Rachel frowned as she stared at the screen.

"What's happening to him? His body… it's glowing."

Arden was already smiling, his eyes shining with excitement.

"It must be his unique physique awakening."

Rachel turned to him, confused.

"Unique physique?"

Arden nodded.

"Yes, ma'am. It's our path's specialty. It's different from the mana trait everyone else awakens from the mana path."

Rachel tilted her head. "Different how?"

Arden leaned on the railing, explaining carefully.

"For most cultivators, when they reach the Mana Core Realm, they awaken a mana trait, something that changes how their mana behaves. But our path is different."

Rachel's brow furrowed slightly.

"How different?"

Arden smiled faintly.

"From the name itself, it's clear. A unique physique means the whole body transforms through mana. It's basically an evolution."

Rachel's eyes widened a little.

"So it's even stronger than a mana trait?"

Arden nodded firmly.

"Yes. But it's also much harder to awaken. You have to reach the Completion Stage of the Second Realm."

"As you know, even reaching that point is already something very few can do."

Rachel slowly nodded, watching the glowing figure on the screen.

"I see… but if it's really that powerful, then it's worth it."

Arden's smile grew.

"Exactly. Master spent months perfecting the process. And now..."

He pointed at the screen, where the light around Garion grew so bright it nearly covered his figure completely.

"We're finally going to see the result."

---

Garion glanced at the glowing blue screen hovering in front of him.

[Transformed Mana Core Cells: 100%]

[Unique Physique Awakening: In Progress]

A small grin spread across his face.

"Good. Let's see just how strong this unique physique really is."

But the moment he said it, his body jerked and his grin vanished instantly.

"Ghh!"

Pain shot through every inch of him. His eyes widened, and he dropped to one knee, clutching his chest.

It felt like his entire body was being stabbed by trillions of needles from the inside out.

He slammed his fist to the ground, roaring out loud.

"What the hell, system! How can it be so painful!?"

The system beeped again.

[Unique Physique Awakening: Body Reconstruction Initiated]

[Body Reconstruction: All cells transforming simultaneously]

[Note: Minor Pain Expected]

Garion's head snapped up, veins bulging on his forehead.

"Minor pain!? This isn't minor at all!"

The air around him trembled as he roared again.

The flames and lightning from Raviel's domain didn't even seem to bother him anymore.

The real battle was now inside his own body.

Raviel floated above, watching with a deep frown.

Garion's aura was rising fast, denser and more powerful by the second, but his screams echoed through the field.

"What… is happening to him? His power continues to grow, yet he's in agony…?"

He tilted his head slightly, trying to understand.

"Hmph. Maybe it's joy. He is a different cultivator than us after all. He is just built different."

Up on the flying ship, Rachel's face was pale.

She leaned closer to the screen, gripping the edge of the table.

"Are you sure this is part of awakening a unique physique? He looks like he's in unbearable pain!"

Arden frowned deeply, his arms crossed.

"I'm not sure. Master is the first one among us to awaken it."

Rachel looked at him anxiously.

"Then what's exactly happening to him?"

Arden didn't answer immediately. He paced back and forth, muttering under his breath.

"Unique physique… it changes the body completely… body evolution…"

He suddenly froze. His eyes widened.

"Wait."

Dahlia stepped forward.

"What is it?"

Arden clenched his fist.

"Damn it… I think I get it now."

Rynar and Rynor leaned closer together.

"What's wrong?"

Arden took a deep breath.

"When we awaken our unique physique, our entire body evolves, right?"

Dahlia nodded slowly.

"Yeah… that's what you told us."

"Exactly," Arden said.

"So that means every cell, every bone, every muscle is being broken down and rebuilt right now."

The twins' eyes widened.

"So… he's being torn apart from the inside?"

Arden nodded grimly.

"Yes. That's why he's screaming like that. His body's reconstructing itself completely."

Dahlia frowned, crossing her arms.

"Don't tell me we'll have to go through that later too…"

Arden sighed, resting a hand on her shoulder.

"Best of luck."

Dahlia glared at him instantly.

"You too! Don't act like you'll be safe!"

Arden raised both hands quickly.

"I know, I know. We'll all suffer together later."

The twins winced, shaking their heads.

"Great. Can't wait," Rynor muttered weakly.

Rachel looked back at the screen.

Garion was still roaring, his body glowing brighter, the air vibrating from the force of his transformation.

Despite the pain, his eyes burned with determination.

Rachel whispered softly.

"Garion… you really are unbelievable."

The ship fell silent as everyone watched Garion's body trembling as it neared the end of its evolution.

Minutes turned into half an hour before his voice finally faded, and the light around him began to settle.

Garion was now standing at the center of a crater, breathing heavily.

A blue window appeared before him.

[Congratulations. Unique Physique has been successfully awakened.]

Garion looked at the screen, his expression flat.

"Yeah, congratulations, my ass."

He wiped the sweat from his face, still shaking slightly.

"System… Next time, warn me first if it's going to hurt like that."

He looked down at his trembling hands and sighed.

"That pain was no joke."
