10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 158: Valerian Vs Royalty

With the first round coming to an end, the Supremacy Games took a half-hour break. After all, people did need short breaks between Rounds and teams too.

Before starting the break, the host announced the first match of the Second Round to bring back the excitement. And it did wonders.

Aegon Valeria Augustus versus Gabriel Morningstar.

A Valerian versus the Imperial Princess.

The first team was supported by everyone, because of the excitement to watch a Valerian fight, and also because they had turned out to be a dark horse.

Everyone could see they were strong even with younger members.

The opposite team included an Imperial family member, one of the two Imperial Teams. They had already seen the strength of Prince Raphael, so everyone could guess Gabriel's team's strength too. The veil of mysteriousness made her even more appealing.

How could the audience not get excited for such a match?

Especially since past Supremacy Games involving the Augustus taking on a Prince or Princess had always been exciting.

Hence, they quickly did their work in that half-hour break so they could watch the match without any distractions.

Even the Sanctum got excited for this match, as they were sure Aegon would be forced to reveal his true strength in this match.

After all, Gabriel surely had gathered a mighty team for herself.

Before anyone realised, the break was over as the Host once again took over and announced the start of the match.

...

Feeling the world shifting around him had become such a common thing for Aegon that he didn't even notice much while entering the Supremacy Game's battlefield.

Except for that slight tug at his soul.

It was still there, reminding him that the games affected the soul somehow.

As he materialized inside his base, he couldn't help but think, 'It's not something sinister, right? Is this god preparing for revival through our souls or something as fuel?'

[Host does need not to worry. Your Soul is intact.]

'Thanks, buddy. At least you are getting better, so I can leave these things to you.' Aegon thought, as he extended his hand to catch the snowflake falling on his palm.

"Such a realistic feeling." He murmured. "Yet we don't feel much pain or get injured here. Even death doesn't come to you."

"If it was something normal, it wouldn't be inside a dead god's corpse," Elara giggled on the side and said. "It's bizarre, but that's what I expect from Divinity."

"That's also true," Aegon smiled and crushed the snowflake. "You all remember the instructions, right? This match will be difficult to win, but we'll win nonetheless."

"I'll just trust in your orders," Cali said, patting his shoulders. "I don't like thinking, so do that for me. For all of us and take us to victory."

Aegon brandished his spiky gloves and grinned, "Then let's crush some royalty, shall we?"

[Start]

"Go!"

He kicked against the ground, diving rapidly in the mid lane. But the speed was unlike anything he had experienced in the real world. He felt slow. He felt weak.

'Ah! I don't like this feeling of weakness.'

He really didn't. It made him feel vulnerable, as if he was once again on the hospital bed, chained down by the sickening machines that drew upon his blood.

He hated that feeling, so he also didn't like this weakness pressing upon him.

'It feels weird.'

He had always been weak, so why did it bother so much now?

'Strength gave me confidence. It made me feel different from my past. It helped me realise that I was different, that I had changed.'

But now that he was weak again, was he the same person again? Was he the same little kid who couldn't do anything, but yearned for his freedom?

[Rosa: Future Hubby, can I farm first? Like till Level 10 before engaging?]

Aegon smiled hearing that voice, as more familiar voices poured down from the connected communication channel.

Yes, he was weak again. But he wasn't the same person. He wasn't alone anymore, and the confidence he seemed to be getting from his strength wasn't his source of confidence at all.

His confidence truly came from the connections he made in this world. The people who became a major part of his life gave him that confidence.

"Do it! We will stall!" Aegon gave the command. "El! Hold down the Gold Lane. Cali! Slam on the EXP Lane and bring our team some EXP. Same for you Rosa, once you're done with those mobs, go for hydra. I'll give you cover."

As the last Turret came into his view, he grinned, "Take us to Level 10 as fast as possible."

They were already at a disadvantage due to their lack of strength, so another disadvantage provided by the game would be bad.

[Rosa: ORDERS FROM MY HUBBY!?? HAHAH! I'LL CRUSH ALL MONSTERS!]

Aegon stopped at the edges of the Turret's range, as another figure soon entered his sight from the other end. As they ran fast, Minions took some time to catch up, but the players still reached each other.

A beautiful lady with long flowing hair tied in a single ponytail. Her cold, arrogant gaze locked on him, revealing similar golden eyes to him.

Unlike them, the princess didn't wear armour. Instead, she donned a long beautiful golden gown suited for her status. In her hand, she carried a jade staff and every step she took made her look as if she floated forward.

Stopping at her Turret's range, she stared at him, still carrying her arrogance and asked, "Why don't you forfeit too? This Princess doesn't like trampling people for no reason."

Aegon chuckled softly and gave a mock bow, "I'm deeply touched by your benevolence, Your Highness. What a merciful person you are."

"Are you done mocking me?" Gabriel asked, her voice seething in silent fury. "Don't think I don't remember the last prank you pulled on me."

"Oh? You found out?" Aegon's eyes flickered in surprise.

"This Princess doesn't have enemies," Gabriel snorted sharply.

"What a coincidence! I also don't have enemies," Aegon smiled, which only seemed to fuel her rage.

"Enough!" Gabriel shouted. "Are you going to fight here directly or use underhanded tactics? Augustus brave blood doesn't run in your veins after all."

"Ah! So they say one doesn't learn from their mistakes. I guess it's true for you." Aegon's smile turned colder. "Why must you do this, Princess?"
