Xiu prepared so many dishes that the others couldn't finish them even if they ate more than usual. Still, it was so delicious that they didn't realize when they ate so much.
Once the eating part was done, Arnold took his leave since he didn't want to come between the fun of the kids. Aegon and the others didn't really mind it much, but he still insisted and left.
"What do we do now?" Rosa asked, rubbing her belly. "I'm not sleeping so early."
"As if I'm ever letting that happen," Xiu giggled and said. "Let's play truth and dare."
"Truth and dare?" Nora asked, confused.
"Oh yeah, you didn't stay with Little Sun much, so you aren't affected by him yet," Aurelia chuckled. "It's a game he invented, and it's very fun."
"Alright, everyone, come down," Xiu said as she snapped her fingers, and many soft mattresses appeared on the ground. "Rosa, explain it to her."
"It's a simple game," Rosa explained as she tied her crimson hair behind her. "We'll spin a bottle in the middle, and when it stops, the person facing the front will ask a question to the person sitting on the opposite end of the bottle. Well, not exactly."
She paused, recalling the rules, before speaking again. "The person gets to choose between Truth and Dare. If they choose Dare, they'll have to do anything the other person asks. If they choose Truth, then they'll have to answer a question truthfully."
"But can't we just lie?" Nora asked, intrigued by the rules.
"You can, but that's exactly why we play it with friends. It's a fun game in the end, so your integrity depends on how much you value the people there," Rosa smiled. "But we do have an escape from it."
"And here's that escape!" Xiu said, taking out a big glass bottle of wine.
Seeing that bottle, Elara and Rosa frowned, while Aurelia's eyes widened as she screamed, "Xiu!!!"
"Someone push a pancake into her mouth," Xiu massaged her ears and said. "Stop screaming, Sis. It's bad for your health."
"You stole the Spirit Wine!!" Aurelia took only a split second to reach Xiu and tried to snatch the bottle, but already expecting it, Xiu moved it away. "You know my mother would be furious."
"That old hag deserves it!" Xiu rolled her eyes and turned toward the confused group. "Don't worry, it's just a minor thing."
"Minor thing my ass!" Aurelia cursed, huffing in anger. "That's Spirit Wine, and not just a normal one. It's ten-thousand-year-old Spirit Wine. How did you even steal it?"
Aegon shifted closer to Elara, who was still shocked while staring at the Spirit Wine, and asked, "Is it that valuable?"
"That's an understatement," Elara answered, stiffening as her cheeks turned red after sensing how close they were. She hurriedly composed herself and added in a slightly louder voice for others to hear.
"Spirit Wine is made through special means, and the materials used are also very precious. Then it's placed under the World Tree's care. The older the wine, the more it has been nourished by the World Tree, so you can imagine the value of this particular Spirit Wine."
She paused, still pondering something.
"Even I only drank it once when I reached adulthood. Elders keep it safe for important moments or to boost someone's cultivation. After all, this wine has many benefits, but it can also make people extremely drunk. Even high-ranked people."
"How the hell did Xiu steal it then?" Aegon asked, baffled.
"You're asking me. Who am I supposed to ask?" Elara replied.
Aurelia was busy scolding Xiu, while the thief simply smiled and let her vent everything on her, even hitting her head.
"Is she enjoying this?" Luna asked, tilting her head cutely.
"I'm more curious about something else," Aegon said, glancing at Elara again. "Is your grandma a tyrant or what? Why does Xiu hate her?"
"How do you know she hates her?" Nora asked, confused and curious."She gives nicknames like those to everyone."
"That's where you're wrong. She only gives nicknames to people she either likes or hates. Irrelevant people don't even get a place in her memory," Aegon shrugged. "And I'm sure she doesn't like her."
"My grandmother…" Elara lowered her voice. "Mom and her relationship is strained. Rather than parent and child, they're more like two enemies who decided to coexist for some reason."
"Ah! That pretty much explains why Xiu hates her," Aegon concluded confidently. "And she definitely stole the wine to annoy your grandmother, which is also why she happily accepted Aunt's scolding."
"You mean… she did it for Aunt Lia?" Cali asked, raising an eyebrow. "Damn, she's awesome!"
By then, even Aurelia had exhausted herself, so she threw a hateful look at Xiu and said while pulling her ear, "Tell me, how did you steal it?"
"Sorry, dear, but I can't divulge my secrets," Xiu smiled slyly. "And don't worry, nobody will know I stole this."
Aurelia massaged her forehead and said, "That's the problem, Little Xiu. Elders will get worried since someone managed to sneak past their barriers and steal something without getting caught. Worse, they don't even know who did it. It'll cause an uproar."
"Nah! Chill! I left clues that lead to that old hag, so they'll investigate her," Xiu said, grinning widely.
"You did what?" Aurelia's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
"Heheh! I'm awesome, right?" Xiu wiggled her brows, clearly fishing for compliments.
Everyone thought she would receive a beating. Instead, Aurelia smiled as well and patted Xiu's head lovingly. "Okay. I can accept it on the condition that the old hag will be in trouble."
"Heheheh!"
"Heheheh!"
Everyone was speechless seeing the two adults laughing creepily. They wondered who the actual adult and responsible one was here. And why Aurelia was praising Xiu for causing trouble for her own mother.
Then everyone gave Elara strange looks, as she simply sighed and said, "As I said, their relationship isn't good for some reason. They're more like enemies, so of course Mom would be happy about her misery."
Now, Aegon was even more curious to visit Slyvanna.
