Chapter 205: Weaver's Hand

[A/N: I'm in a hurry so no edit!]

Aegon already knew the answer. He wasn't dense like those Harem anime protagonist. Yet, his heart raced as he waited for Elara's answer. What was he even expecting?

Elara looked at everyone, her gaze lingering at Aegon for a bit longer before she smiled and said, "Of course, that's my Dad. I love him dearly. He's the best father in the whole continent."

"Daddy's princess!" Aurelia shook her head and said. "He spoiled you way too much."

"And you didn't stop him, so stop ruining everything, Sis." Xiu rolled her eyes and gave a thumbs up to Elara. "Awesome answer, by the way."

Elara smiled sweetly in response.

"So many oopholes!" Xavier sighed in disappointment. "Get better, Sis."

"You giving me more reasons to give you worst dares?"

"Nope! El is just too smart."

"Way better!"

"You should have asked me that question," Rosa said, fidgeting with her fingers.

"We already know it, dear," Aurelia smiled and said. "You don't shy away from proclaiming your love to the whole world, after all."

Elara's smile vanished hearing that, as she fell in contemplation.

"Not everyone is same though," Aegon said.

"Well said," Xiu smiled and said. "Anyways, we should change our position so that everyone can get the chances equally."

"Good idea!"

With that, they changed their positions randomly and once again spun the bottle.

As he watched the bottle getting faster and faster, Aegon wondered, 'What would I have felt if she said my name? Can I face it?'

He was in a dilemma. He didn't really know if he loved Elara or Rosa, but he felt attraction to both of them and it wasn't just appearance. Granted, he felt more connected and attractive to Elara.

Even though he never thought of that way growing up, since he thought he'll find love out of his friend circle, he had unknowingly formed that bond with Elara.

But the problem lay in the fact that he also felt attraction towards Rosa. At first, he didn't, but the year he spent made him like her company more. Before he even realised it, he also began to like her.

Rosa came out as flamboyant, arrogant, mischievous and many other things that painted her in bad light, but as someone who enjoyed her company the most, he knew how good she was deep down.

She was the perfect life partner for him. He knew that very well because of the year they spent together. He could see himself living a wonderful life with her.

'I used to curse those harem protagonists, but I'm actually even more pathetic than them.'

Harem was common in this world, so it wasn't like Aegon couldn't choose both of them. In fact, the world would see that as best outcome because of his talent and also his position as House Valeria's Heir.

But he didn't want that. Rosa loved him with her everything and nothing existed for her whenever he was around. He didn't even know what he did to deserve that kind of love, but she showed him her love well.

And if he was entering a relationship, he wanted to reciprocate their feelings even more. If he was loving someone, he wanted to give his all to them too.

He felt it was unfair to them. Whether it was Rosa or Elara, it was unfair to both of them if he chose both of them. But choosing one meant hurting the other.

'And I can't even hurt them. Don't even want to imagine it.'

This became the whole reason why he was holding back till now. So, he didn't know how he would reacted if Elara truly said his name. Then, he would have to face those feelings and decide too.

'First, I need to know what's happening between them. Only after uncovering their mystery will i decide.'

Aegon didn't know if he was just coping and delaying the inevitable, but he had a feeling that solving that mystery was more important. And he trusted that feeling very much because of his [Fated] trait.

As he was lost in thoughts, the bottle stopped facing Nora and it's backend faces Aegon which brought him out of his daze.

'Lets leave that for now.' He thought for a moment, looking at Nora's eyes before smiling and said. "I can see curiosity in your eyes, Sis. Ask. I choose truth."

Others tried suggesting her some questions...very outrageous ones...so Aegon glared at them but none stopped.

Fortunately, Nora didn't pay attention to them and simply asked her question, "How did you make that Rune Formation in the last game? Explain everything about it."

"One question wasted," Xavier sighed. "He would answer it normally anyways."

"It's called Retribution Rune Formation," Aegon explained, ignoring Xavier. "As you might have already guessed, the Rune Formation absorbs all the damage on it and let's it accumulate. Then, someone can use that power to bring Retribution on the enemies."

"That explains the last destruction," Cali said, looking at her arm which still had minimal movement. "Even I can't handle all that damage "

"Boosted, by the way!" Luna said, pointing it out. "It increased the output to deadly limits."

"Indeed. The output actually surpassed my expectations," Aegon chuckled. "As for how I did it, for that I'll have to introduce you all to my new arm."

He raised his right hand, as everyone narrowed their eyes at it but couldn't find anything different on it.

Seeing their confused faces, Aegon smiled and said, "You can't see it. Try to sense it."

Nora came closer as she touched his arm and said, frowning, "What is this? It feels strange. As if there's an Additional arm over your hand."

"Because there is an additional hand," Aegon nodded and said. "I've acquired Weaver's Hand, the first of their kind. They were the first RuneMaster as well. They were so skilled at this that they didn't need Kalam or any medium to weave out complex Rune Spheres."

"Huh?" Nora blinked her eyes in confusion.

"Yup. Don't ask how I acquired it. Because I can't tell you," Aegon said. "And yes, I can do something similar through this hand. I don't need a Kalam since this hand gives me access to the very fabric of existence and also the world essence. It's like holding a pen."

"This is bullshit!" Nora cursed out loud. "It skips so many important steps of being a RuneMaster."

"She's right. This arm is ridiculous. Even if it doesn't grand you power directly, the things it could do is simply too wonderful," Aurelia nodded in agreement.

"Yup. What would you expect from the First RuneMaster? I haven't even explored all of it's functions, so it might even be more powerful than we think."

Aegon said, returning his arm to normal.

"But there are side effects. It puts huge strain on my Soul and body. As if I'm wearing an armour with weight of a mountain. Not to mention it's usage of Soul Usage. It's huge."

He lingered for a while before continuing in a flat voice.

"Even during the game, I was using it minimally and taking my town to do everything. All in all, the whole plan was a big risk so thanks for playing along."

Nora clasped Aegon's hand and asked earnestly, "Can you let me study it more? Perhaps we can find how the Weaver used to make Rune Formations. It'll be immensely helpful for our clan's standing."

"I shared this thinking of that, Sis." Aegon replied. "But for now, this is enough, right?"

"O-Oh! Forgive me for overstepping my boundaries, Young Master!" Nora instantly bowed, realising her mistake. "I got too excited."

"Sis, it's just us here so you really don't have to do this," Aegon sighed.

"Yes. Father told us to bow before Aunt Xiu but if we try to do that, she smacks us," Xavier nodded in agreement. "All in all, none of us here really cares about status. We forget everything the moment we're all alone. So you can even curse him, if you want."

"I wouldn't dare," Nora smiled wryly and said. "But alright. I'll try to forget that you're Young Master for now. Father will scold me for it, though."

"I'll deal with Uncle Rovan," Aegon said. "Now, let's all just have fun, okay?"

Nora nodded and went back to her seat, though she had to change again as everyone once again jumbled up.

The ball was spun again as the game continued. The rest of it was mostly fun though, as the hall filled with laughter and cheers as they asked outrageous questions and gave ridiculous dares.

Many times they even fought, though even that ended up in them laughing while pulling each other's hair.

It was a night of their victory and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

In the end, though the spirit wine wasn't used since no one really asked too deep questions afterwards, as they preferred to talk in private.

The dares were fun to do, so none refused even if they disliked them.

Once the game was over, they all drank the Spirit Wine only to lose consciousness in just one cup.

Just like that, their night ended.
