10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 220: Treasury

Liliana's answer made Aegon realise that children inherit some things from their parents even if they stayed far apart. Just like Liliana, he also had the habit of observing people and learning from their failures so that he himself failed less.

Her words might sound arrogant, but this was what she genuinely believed, and he was the same.

Both of them didn't shy away from failures, as it was part of their profession, but they despised it a lot too. As long as they could stay away from it, they would, no matter what.

"Let me show you what I meant," Liliana said as she walked forward gracefully.

They currently stood in a bright corridor made entirely of brown rocks. It seemed like a cave carved inside a mountain, which should be impossible considering he was still inside the God's Hand.

'Perhaps the treasury is somewhere else and he just connected a portal to there. But teleportation isn't easy, and not just anyone can use it.'

Shaking those thoughts off, he followed behind Liliana as they silently crossed the corridor and soon reached its end. What lay there was an enormous hall with walls the size of small hills, and the sheer volume of it was enough to house cities.

The ceiling remained hidden in darkness, making it seem like the hall was open from above, as though the dark, starless sky was right above them.

Aegon couldn't identify the source of illumination, but strangely everything in the hall was lit up and clearly visible. Thousands of known and unknown things were piled everywhere, while some stayed locked in shelves or even embedded in the walls.

Aegon gasped in surprise. He expected many things from the grand treasury of a thousand-year-old Academy, but even then, it still took him by surprise.

It looked gargantuan.

"What do you think?" she asked, curious to know his thoughts.

"It's..." He paused. "It's a freaking storage house. Just on a massive scale."

"Haha!" Liliana's melodious laughter echoed through the treasury. "I thought the same when I first came here. It made me so disappointed initially, because I expected too many grand things."

"But really, why is it so... plain?" Aegon asked, bewildered.

"Quite simple," Liliana smiled and said. "We're currently on the Sixth Floor, and many items here are too dangerous to be kept normally."

"Can't they just use seals on them?" Aegon asked in return.

"They certainly can, but it's wasteful and unreliable," Liliana responded calmly. "Not to mention there are many things we can't even identify properly, so their effects remain unknown too. The founding dean of this Academy solved this problem by making a Minor Domain where anything non-mundane is impossible to take place."

She raised her hand and said, "This Domain rejects the very foundation of magic. Even Knights turn mundane here, and very few things can resist that rejection."

Aegon blinked in surprise and tried to channel his mana, only to realise that he couldn't. His mana was still there; he could feel it, but somehow it wasn't under his control anymore.

He didn't even realise when strength left his body, turning him into a mundane. If Liliana hadn't mentioned it, he might still be thinking that he was a Rank 3 Knight.

It sounded so ridiculous. He was stripped of everything he worked for over a decade without his knowledge, and he could do nothing about it.

"Come to terms with it. Even though I call history a failure, the ancient times had beings far beyond our comprehension walking on this land," Liliana said. "This is just one of their artworks."

"They basically created a law of their own," Aegon muttered, shocked at his own words. "They were beyond Rank 9, weren't they?"

"Definitely!" Liliana nodded in agreement and walked towards a small wooden box. "Now you can understand why it looks like a storage facility."

He did understand now.

Because of the Rejection Law, everything here was mundane. Even mystical items that might cause catastrophe in the outside world would be nothing more than art pieces. The Domain reduced them to such states that it didn't matter how they were stored in the first place.

Aegon was truly impressed by this new knowledge. He raised his head to look into the vast darkness, which reminded him of the Void Chamber's ceiling.

'I wonder if I can see that big guy again.'

Of course, nobody showed up. The Void Chamber was special too, but far too different from this place. Unlike that chamber, which was cut from the universe itself, this was a domain made inside it.

A true Domain, not a fragment of one.

'What even is a domain? A world of our own?'

The fact that one could create laws inside it made him believe that. It was a good guess, which made him wonder if it was a necessary thing to become half-divine.

'System!'

[Yes, Host. I'm at your service.]

[Ding! Signing in at the Layered Grand Treasury!]

[Ding! Formula of Prototype Homunculi Acquired!]

[Ding! 10x Bonus Applied!]

[Ding! Formula of Perfected Homunculi Acquired!]

Aegon's eyes widened upon seeing the notifications as a soft grin formed on his face. 'Goddamn it! Now this is the system I like. What a gift you've given me. I love you!'

Even without descriptions, he could guess what his rewards were, as their names gave them away easily. The sheer idea of making many Homunculi filled him with excitement.

[I appreciate you having feelings for me, Host, but I cannot accept your confession as I cannot feel any emotions. So I have to reject you.]

All excitement vanished from Aegon's mind as he comprehended what just happened. 'Did I get rejected by a system? What the hell? Fuck you!!'

[I am unable to do that either; otherwise, I would service Host to the best of my capabilities.]

Aegon was about to retort when he heard Liliana's voice.

"What are you doing there? Come here! I need to show you something!"

"Coming!!"

Aegon swore to take care of this system later. For now, he had more important things to do.
