10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 239: Sudden Enlightenment

Aegon worked continuously for the whole day, losing himself in the spirit of making something new. He was in a trance where he saw nothing but the single thing he wanted to make.

And he would stop at nothing to achieve that.

He was approaching the end of his material reserves when it hit him. A sudden euphoric feeling engulfed his mind, new ideas suddenly rushing like an endless river across his soul.

If he had been in his normal state, he would have noticed a tiny crack in his soul, which let in a stream of water. His soul quickly mended the broken parts, but the stream of water was already inside.

'Of course, why didn't I think of this sooner? It's a reflection.'

A big grin plastered on his face as he took out more than fifteen ingredients and scattered them on the table before him. That was when he noticed something amiss.

Clarity returned to him as he realised he couldn't continue immediately, allowing him to finally see his current situation. It freaked him out for a moment.

'What the... what happened?'

His whole body reeked of sweat, while every muscle in his body screamed at him, spasming from overwork. His legs shook as he fell on his butt.

"Oh, seems like you're normal again."

Aegon raised his head and found the familiar white-haired beauty smiling softly at him. She offered him a glass of water and came to sit beside him.

"Wondering what happened?" she asked, though she didn't wait for an answer. "You entered a state of Enlightenment where you forget yourself and all of your being encompasses a single thing. Though, there are other types of enlightenment too."

"Wait!... did I just spend the whole day working on this shit?" Aegon blurted out, unable to control his tongue in this situation. "The hell!"

"It happens. Though I'm surprised you stopped before actually completing it," Liliana said. "I would have stopped you if you overexerted yourself, but surprisingly you were still brimming with energy so I didn't intervene."

Aegon groaned, as he understood why he seemed brimming with energy. He was in the Twilight Domain, so the Blazing Sun Holy Physique was doing its work and rejuvenating him fast.

"Well, I found the solution but lack the materials," Aegon said after drinking the whole glass in one go. "I need them immediately."

"I can guess you're trying to make the Soul Essence Battery, but are you sure about this?" Liliana said. "You seemed to be taking inspiration from the Mana Battery when they work differently. Soul Essence is a reflection. That's what you told me."

"Yes, that's what makes it special. But the world is the same, Senior, so the fundamentals for storing Essence are also similar. The oddity of Soul Essence changes things slightly, but that's it."

"I see. What do you need?" she asked gently. "My storage ring is full of useless things."

"A Nullstone, Grave Silk Threads, and Oblivion Quartz," Aegon answered, as he turned to look at the ingredients spread on the table. "Yup, pretty much that."

"Hmm!" Liliana hummed, looking through her storage ring. "I have Nullstone and Grave Silk Threads, but not the Oblivion Quartz. But I can get it for you quickly."

"Thanks. But I'll try asking Xiu. I'm sure she has a whole warehouse or something filled with ingredients," Aegon sighed in exasperation. "Not to mention Grandpa's treasury. They got mad the last time I used my funds for the Mana Battery."

"I'll contact Xiu then. You can take a bath and eat in the meantime," Liliana suggested as she stood up. "I'll also clean up this room."

Aegon looked around him and felt warmth rising to his cheeks. In his strange state, he didn't think of anything and littered the whole room with junk.

"Thanks," Aegon sighed. "And you're finally on talking terms with her?"

"I guess so." Liliana shrugged. "This is going to be expensive, Aegon. None of the items you mentioned are easy to find."

"The Mana Batteries have to be cheap, not the machines making them," Aegon replied while standing up. "So that's fine. We just need to make sure it's worth it."

Liliana nodded in response.

Aegon went back to the hot springs and took a long bath once again to calm his nerves. Lying in the hot water, he muttered, "Sign in."

[Ding! Signing in at the Lotus Palace.]

[Ding! 100 Sandalwood Acquired!]

[Ding! 10x Bonus Applied!]

[Ding! 1000 Sandalwood Acquired!]

Aegon rolled his eyes seeing the reward, but he wasn't even surprised. Most of the time he got useless things from the system, so he was used to it.

'Still, I was hoping for something that could cut the cost. Whatever.'

His plan was simple. He used his special eyes to see the rhythm of the Mana Battery, then tried to find the best combination of the materials to reach a similar rhythm, but it should also store the Soul Essence.

He failed many times, which wasn't something new to him. But now he finally had the solution. He didn't know how he did it, but he cracked the problem and found the solution.

'Phew! A major problem solved. Now a little more work is needed in this one.'

Aegon smiled in joy and soon left the hot springs. After having a belly-full meal, he went back to the room and found Liliana sitting calmly before the table with her eyes closed.

He blinked in surprise seeing how clean the room had become. It seemed impossible to think that this same place was a complete mess a few minutes ago.

Then, his gaze went towards the materials and his eyes glistened in excitement. All of the things he needed were there, including the three things he requested from Liliana.

"Thanks a lot for these, Senior," Aegon said, as he cracked his knuckles and neck. "I can finally get back at this."

Liliana smiled and stood up. Opening her blood-red eyes, she said, "I'll stand silently in the corner and observe you."

Aegon nodded, as he didn't mind the audience, especially someone like Liliana who could point out if he was doing something wrong.

Just like that, he began working again.
