Rustle, rustle—
From the end of the street came a flurry of rustling footsteps, and at a glance, innumerable figures slowly spreading out through every corner of the city.
Upon closer inspection as they approached, it was shockingly a group of curvaceous, voluptuous female nurses, their faces swollen and covered with bandages, resembling mummies.
A few of the nurses held rusty, bloodstained steel pipes, dragging them across the ground with ear-piercing scrapes.
"Help! Somebody save me!"
Before the door of a building, a man fleeing for his life from afar barely managed to get halfway inside before a swollen-faced nurse grabbed hold of his legs.
He screamed in despair as he was dragged out of the room.
Soon, a horde of swollen-faced nurses swarmed over him with twisted postures. Within minutes, only the man's tattered clothes were left on the ground.
Wu Liang witnessed all of this clearly.
"If he played more games, he wouldn't die so horribly," he sighed inwardly.
The reason the man poked his head in and started pleading for help was naturally because Wu Liang was sitting in the corner of that building.
In this city shrouded in ash, already grey and without lights, the spot where Wu Liang sat was nearly in pitch darkness.
"So this guy is also a player? The internal worlds of this game are interconnected?" Wu Liang mused to himself.
Even though the man only poked his head in for a moment, Wu Liang still recognized his face.
This was the same dazed-looking victim citizen he had seen sitting in front of a computer when he first entered the internet cafe.
If killed by the swollen-faced nurse in the game, he should wake up in reality and then show signs of addiction.
"What a pity, I was hoping to ask him about his exploration, didn't expect him to 'receive a lunchbox' so soon."
Wu Liang remembered Silent Hill's game settings very well. Against these swollen-faced nurses, you only need to turn off your light source and make no sound to sneak past them.
If that guy hadn't shouted just now, he might have lived.
Thinking of this, Wu Liang glanced at the swarm of swollen-faced nurses spread across the streets and stepped out.
In terms of control over his physical muscle capabilities, Wu Liang had absolute confidence.
He strolled ghost-like without making a sound.
The group of swollen-faced nurses indeed showed no response, each stiffly remaining on the street.
"Maintain this stealth and slowly explore the city to find out what 'finding the fun of the game' means, ha, these Supernatural Objects definitely have a dark sense of humor," Wu Liang remarked.
Creating such an outrageously stitched game and still requiring players to find the 'game fun'.
Does that poor guy just shredded to bits look like he found fun?
He's probably scared enough to wet his pants in the real world!
Rumble—
Just as Wu Liang was about to search for clues everywhere, a tremendous rumbling sound caught his attention.
It also attracted the entire street of swollen-faced nurses.
They all started rushing toward the source of the sound, resembling a zombie horde.
"Heh, which unfortunate soul this time... What the hell are you doing!?"
Wu Liang shook his head and lamented about the player causing this fuss when he suddenly saw a flash of pink frantically darting in that direction.
It was a little girl in pajamas, her tearful eyes ready to burst into tears as she bounced like a rabbit, dodging attacks from behind.
Chasing her was a giant, roughly three meters tall, heavily built, and faceless save for a triangular ironhead.
In his hand was a massive sword about two meters long, constantly swinging at the little girl.
"Damn! This triangle head is much larger than in the game! How can it be three meters?" Wu Liang couldn't bother hiding his voice anymore.
He immediately leaped forward, stepping on the heads of the surrounding swollen-faced nurses, running toward the little girl.
That little girl was, of course, the Zodiac Rabbit.
Seeing Wu Liang approaching, she immediately called out tearfully, "Shadow! I can't beat it! It's too big!"
"What outrageous words! Jump on my back!"
Wu Liang moved as if equipped with a Three-Dimensional Maneuvering Device, flitting rapidly between high buildings.
Even though his Spiritual Power was sealed, his body, capable of exceeding 500 kilograms of force, was no joke; he could achieve a mobility beyond normal comprehension through sheer physical power alone.
The Zodiac Rabbit didn't argue anymore, obediently leaping high and wrapping her arms around Wu Liang's neck.
Like a koala, she clung to Wu Liang's back, glancing behind with lingering fear at the triangular-headed monster.
Whoosh—
A mighty gust of wind, as they narrowly dodged the two-meter-long sword that swept past them like a door.
In mid-air, Wu Liang gritted his teeth, twisting his body to narrowly evade the sword's edge.
"Let go, you bastard!"
Boom—
As he evaded sideways, Wu Liang angrily punched the sword, trying to knock it off from the triangle head's grip.
But he underestimated the mighty power of the monster, which was taller than the game's two-meter design.
A punch that could crack solid walls merely made the creature stagger, embedding the sword heavily into the ground.
There was no sign of it being disarmed!
Seeing this, Wu Liang quickly exploded his leg power to retreat at top speed to avoid being caught head-on.
"How did you provoke the triangle head? Don't you know to hide when the Silent Hill siren goes off and ashes fill the air?" he complained helplessly to the Zodiac Rabbit behind him.
"What Silent Hill? I've never played it! How could I know?" the Zodiac Rabbit said innocently.
"Then what games have you played? How did you end up following me into this game space?"
Wu Liang almost laughed from anger.
After all, the majority of gamers tend to be male, especially before the Supernatural Calamity. At that time, the Zodiac Rabbit would have been around 16 years old.
It's understandable that she hadn't played this horror game.
"I just thought it couldn't be too dangerous, and in case you needed help lifting your Spiritual Power seal, wouldn't you need my help too?" the Zodiac Rabbit spoke with dwindling confidence.
But then she raised her voice, proudly declaring, "It's not like I haven't played any games! I've played arcade games like Pac-Man and Rockman!"
"!?"
Her seemingly casual words suddenly opened Wu Liang's mind.
After pondering for a moment, he asked her experimentally while fleeing with the Zodiac Rabbit on his back:
"If you've never played Silent Hill, you don't actually know how tall the triangle head's supposed to be?"
"I don't know... Just seeing the triangular iron block emerging from the basement made me feel it must be really, really big..." the Zodiac Rabbit timidly replied.
Thud—
As soon as she finished speaking, Wu Liang abruptly stopped running, stamping on the ground with a thud to halt.
He turned to see the triangle head still relentlessly in pursuit, with the swollen-faced nurses surging forward.
He smiled confidently, saying, "I know what's going on in this game!"
"Now, it's my turn!"
