The Zodiac Rabbit shrugged and said.

Injuries, curses, or even after using Supernatural Objects, one might carry an almost undetectable supernatural aura.

Just like the residue of gunpowder from shooting, it's invisible and intangible, but special instruments can detect it.

Of course, the instruments to detect such supernatural reactions are still in the testing phase, and the confidentiality level prevents the Zodiac Rabbit from saying much to Wu Liang.

However, after hearing this, Wu Liang shook his head in disagreement: "The point is, even when you locked their Spiritual Power, my power was still neutralized. Do you understand?"

These words were like a sudden enlightenment.

A flash of seriousness instantly appeared in the Zodiac Rabbit's eyes. She understood the implication of Wu Liang's words.

Locking the Spiritual Power meant the Fierce Ghost aura within their bodies was unrestrained, yet it still neutralized Wu Liang's power.

This could only prove that something else was deliberately hiding within them with conscious resistance, not merely a lingering aura from dealing with supernatural incidents!

"I'll go and talk to Teacher Guo about this."

The Zodiac Rabbit turned to head toward the elevator, only for Wu Liang to grab her.

Turning around, she saw Wu Liang squinting as he said, "That little guy doesn't know you and probably hasn't met Professor Guo, but Ren Tao must have, right?"

"Yeah, he's the son of the team captain from headquarters, a rare case where both father and son are Awakened, sometimes undergoing genetic checks at the institute." The Zodiac Rabbit said nonchalantly.

With her position in the Zodiac Department and as a researcher, even Ren Tao's father would have to deal with having their Spiritual Power locked.

But Wu Liang pondered for two seconds after hearing this.

Then he revealed a mysterious smile and turned to go back to the room.

Casually, he said, "Then there's no need to look for Professor Guo, he already knows."

Just as he was about to close the door, the Zodiac Rabbit suddenly stopped it with a foot.

She frowned, staring intently into Wu Liang's eyes, which were impossible to read, and asked suspiciously, "What do you mean?"

Wu Liang sat down on the ergonomic chair in the dorm, closing his eyes as if enjoying a relaxing rest, and started speaking to himself as if sorting his thoughts:

"You see, the Fierce Ghost aura can neutralize my power, but it doesn't intend to harm either of them, which suggests that this consciousness currently doesn't want to harm anyone. But how could a true Fierce Ghost be lenient?"

"So, the source of this additional power should be the Symbiont!"

"Furthermore, since Professor Guo can stand on equal footing with that madwoman Yuan Yi, and Ren Tao occasionally goes for checks, he should be able to see through things at least this much, being a director and all."

"Him not saying much proves that he has acquiesced here."

"I even suspect this is being directed from above, though their specific purpose is unclear."

"The fact that you don't know about this indicates that they never intended for you to be involved from the start, asking now won't yield any answers either."

At this point, Wu Liang paused.

He opened his eyes, scanning the entire room with an extremely sharp gaze, and teased as the Zodiac Rabbit's face grew more and more grim, "Don't you think so?"

"Makes sense..."

Clap—

Before she could finish, Wu Liang snapped his fingers, interrupting her.

Then, like a child playing, he pushed the swivel chair in the center of the room and whispered with a finger to his lips, "Shh... I wasn't asking you."

Then he pointed to the ceiling, speaking more boldly, "I was asking the people above."

With that, the atmosphere in the room instantly dropped to freezing point, and the Zodiac Rabbit lowered her head, pondering something.

Meanwhile, Wu Liang just continued his rest with closed eyes.

The two remained in silence for a whole hour.

Grumble—

Until the Zodiac Rabbit's stomach growled with the hunger longing for food, breaking the original stillness.

"Let's... let's go eat, I'll take you to the cafeteria." The Zodiac Rabbit said casually, turning to open the door and walk out, paying no mind to whether Wu Liang followed.

The events of today left her mind a bit dazed; thinking about such complex matters is indeed tiring for a youthful mind.

But, as expected, Wu Liang immediately followed.

"Hehehe, food is essential for the living, let's give our bosses some room to think." He said with a playful grin.

The two went down via the elevator.

On reaching the first floor, the Zodiac Rabbit led Wu Liang towards the backdoor path to the cafeteria.

She asked with some confusion, "Are you really that sure there's surveillance equipment or something in your room?"

"I haven't dealt with anyone from out of town coming to the Capital for training who gets such attention, what if you're wrong? What if this is just an accident, and those two idiots are actually facing threats? If I keep quiet despite knowing, who's responsible?"

Wu Liang didn't respond immediately.

Instead, he walked around the cafeteria, feeling the aroma of food and the elusive Fierce Ghost aura, rarer than any trace gases.

He smiled.

This Fierce Ghost aura shouldn't be something anyone can sense without an instrument.

Just like nobody can see the composition of gases in the air with the naked eye.

But unfortunately, he can.

Wherever this aura has directly interacted with him, it cannot be hidden from Wu Liang.

Just like during the Shouyi Ghost incident, he can rely on the Nightmare to lock onto anyone infected with the same aura.

Yet now, in the entire cafeteria, more than half the people exude this familiar feeling.

"Let me explain why my room definitely has a surveillance device." Wu Liang said as he walked towards the food counter with the Zodiac Rabbit: "What would you do once you take me to the lab?"

"Investigate from every level of researchable aspects, and eventually try to dissect you." The Zodiac Rabbit said bluntly.

She never bothers disguising her intentions.

As a researcher, she's actually quite simple.

"Exactly, Yuan Yi and Professor Guo would think the same, and they'd definitely try to find out if I possess any hidden Special Ability, so they'd install monitoring."

"Don't ask me why I know what those two research lunatics think; in a way—I'm a lunatic too."

He felt in great condition now!

The recovery of his memory and emotions made his behavior a bit aggressive, Wu Liang realized this too.

I know but I don't change, and I enjoy it.

Then he grinned, revealing his canines, and politely said to the cafeteria staff:

"Please serve two large bowls of chicken leg rice and braised beef over rice, no rice thank you."
