Chapter 331: The Museum's Self-Defense Mechanism!

"You want me to open a space teleportation? Let this group of guys fall into different water pits around the museum?"

Director Long was a bit stunned after hearing Wu Liang's subsequent words, then shook his head and retorted, "No matter how bad it is, they are City-Destroying Level Fierce Ghosts. It might work a couple of times initially, but it's very difficult to successfully lock onto a specific target for teleportation when they're on guard."

He naturally understood Wu Liang's intentions.

But this matter, while easy to say, is incredibly difficult to execute.

Spatial ability requires three steps to teleport a specific target—lock onto the target, open a stable spatial rift, and pass the target through the rift.

These fierce ghosts aren't like inanimate stones or trees that won't resist. Sneak attacking one or two is fine, but trying to lock onto and teleport all of the City-Destroying Ghosts is overly demanding.

However, Wu Liang responded with a devilish smile.

"Who said anything about precision targeting? Are you on good terms with them? Do you need to open a stable passage to ensure successful teleportation? Relax, they'll protect themselves. All you need to do is one thing—"

"Thoroughly disrupt this space, causing everything within it to teleport randomly."

These words made Director Long realize his understanding of Wu Liang was still somewhat shallow.

This guy doesn't have a conscience at all!

He's entirely the type who would set a mountain on fire just to flush out his prey.

The reason for establishing a stable spatial rift in normal teleportation is to ensure success and to prevent the target from being torn apart by space. It's like opening a door at point A and point B and just walking through.

What he means now is to make the museum's space filled with doors, and no one knows where any door might lead.

This way, the targeting step is unnecessary; you just need to keep digging holes in the ground.

"If we do it this way… this area might not have stable space for nearly a decade, becoming a thoroughly barren and deadly place."

Director Long spoke of its hazards with helplessness on his lips.

But in action, Magic Cube Dragon behind him kept roaring and swung its dragon claws to tear apart the stable structure of the surrounding space bit by bit; in a moment, Wu Liang began to feel the surrounding buildings becoming a bit blurry.

He could feel the space collapsing bit by bit, and even plenty of stones under his feet started disappearing into thin air, then reappeared at the feet of the group of City-Destroying Ghosts.

Before the stones had time to hit the ground, they disappeared again and appeared in front of Building No. 2 Pit.

This cycle of disappearance and reappearance continued until one moment they disappeared and never appeared again.

This indicated that the stone had been completely torn apart by space and turned into nothingness.

"Clang clang clang…clang clang clang…"

At this time, the Mechanical Fierce Ghost in the lead also sensed something was wrong. It turned around to find the anomaly, and the metal armor on its body kept clanging, expressing its angry emotions.

Before the other fierce ghosts could react to what was happening, the Mechanical Fierce Ghost's figure had already disappeared, reappearing simultaneously to the left about ten meters away.

Then it began to fall into various unstable spatial rifts, teleporting around different locations near the museum.

"Human…how dare you…"

The City-Destroying Ghost following behind the Mechanical Fierce Ghost was akin to an octopus, covered in tentacles, with even its clothing arranged in numerous small, twisted tentacles.

At first glance, it seemed cursed like David Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean.

But before it finished speaking, its figure, like the Mechanical Fierce Ghost before it, began randomly teleporting.

The experience of these two ghosts caused the other succeeding City-Destroying Ghosts to start panicking, attempting to retrace their steps backward.

Yet, when they stepped back, they suddenly found that the ground and space behind them were vastly different from before.

Because Director Long hadn't changed them spatially but had thoroughly distorted the space around the museum.

At this moment, even if Director Long himself wanted to walk normally to the front of Building No. 1 Pit, he'd have to cautiously use his abilities to protect himself.

It's a case of wounding the enemy a thousand at the cost of suffering eight hundred.

"Don't look at me, it was this guy who asked me to do it, go hate him." Director Long shrugged and pointed at Wu Liang.

Only to find the opposite was staring intently at the struggling Mechanical Fierce Ghost and Octopus Ghost in the space transmission not far away, muttering something under his breath.

"Fifty-two… fifty-three… why hasn't it happened yet?" Wu Liang's murmuring voice also came out.

"What's supposed to happen?" Director Long asked, puzzled.

At this point, Wu Liang pointed at those two and even other City-Destroying Fierce Ghosts who tried to retreat and also fell into random teleportation space.

He knitted his brows and said, "These City-Destroying Ghosts have various abilities to protect themselves from being torn by spatial rifts, but the teleportation can't be interrupted in a short time, which was something we have been able to predict from the start."

"I've roughly counted; they've been randomly teleported over sixty times, yet never once landed near a building, still only teleporting between the square and open ground."

"And yet nothing has triggered any…"

Before finishing, finally, one fierce ghost landed quite close to the museum building, just a meter away from the main entrance!

Under its terrified gaze, a mutation occurred.

Swish—

As soon as the Octopus Ghost was teleported, it was still falling from the air at normal speed, but the moment it was about to reach the ground, its entire ghostly form shot forward nearly ten meters horizontally.

In an instant, it rolled down below the museum's steps.

This sudden manner of movement clearly wasn't caused by spatial teleportation.

It wasn't until its rolling finally stopped that Wu Liang and Director Long realized this entity's City-Destroying aura was rapidly fading.

Within a few breaths, it had been completely exorcised, turning into a feeble palm-sized octopus form on the ground.

"What happened?!"

This all happened far too quickly, and from start to finish, no substantial thing appeared, a ghost capable of city destruction was inexplicably exorcised out of thin air!

At this point, Wu Liang squinted his eyes, carefully observing the ghost seen on its body.

After a moment, he said uncertainly, "Those holes on its body, those shouldn't be self-inflicted, right?"

At this time, Director Long also noticed— the exorcised Octopus Ghost's body had numerous holes as if pierced through, and even the main body seemed nailed to the ground by something invisible, impervious to spatial teleportation interference.

"These holes seem reminiscent of some sort of arrow shot," Director Long said. "Looking closely, you can notice the holes aren't regular circles but rather peculiar triangular shapes, resembling ancient arrows' barbs and bloodletting slots."

Then he lifted his head, looking toward the museum's No. 1 Pit direction with some shock.

"This is… damage caused by the Qin Crossbow!?"
