Chapter 344: Movements of the Pioneer

"S... Mr. Shadow!"

Zeng Hu followed the Emotion Ghost's gaze and finally noticed Wu Liang's figure. The black cloak on the other person seemed even more tattered than before, with even darker shades coloring it.

It looked as if the black cloak had been soaked in a pool of blood, giving off a faint illusion of a dark red tint, which sent shivers down one's spine.

"Well, since you're awake, tell me, how does it feel to become a Symbiont?" Wu Liang said expressionlessly, taking something that looked like a finger bone out of his pocket and tossing it into his mouth.

The incarnation of the Emotion Ghost, a vague figure in a myriad of colors, couldn't help but take two steps back at this sight.

Clearly, these were the City-Destroying Level Fierce Ghosts attracted by the Immortal Pill of Undying, or more accurately, the body fragments left behind after they had been exorcised.

Zeng Hu, wide-eyed and agape, listened to the crunching sounds coming from Wu Liang's mouth, and couldn't help but swallow hard as he asked, "What... what Symbiont? I don't feel any different."

"Oh, I forgot, you're a rookie who just awakened and joined the official training camp, right? So, it's normal if you don't know about Symbionts. They are..."

Wu Liang mumbled about the Symbionts as he chewed on the Fierce Ghost Fragment, explaining it to Zeng Hu.

Then, he unobtrusively observed the other's expression, posture, and various subtle details—

Hmm, his movements are stronger than before, and his physical condition has visibly improved; his perception abilities seem to have enhanced slightly too, as if the Emotion Ghost's perception is gradually being shared with him. He also subconsciously keeps an eye out for roaming City-Annihilating Ghosts outside, suggesting there's no issue in terms of enhancing abilities.

However, his limbs are still a bit awkward, and his increased heart rate and breathing indicate that his perception ability hasn't fully adapted.

But there's no way around that; in a sense, this kid is actually the first true Symbiont possessed by a City-Destroying Fierce Ghost.

Director Long, on the other hand, raised himself bit by bit, and the Magic Cube Dragon wasn't initially a City-Destroying Ghost either.

Now, it seems that with sufficient Immortal Pills, I could mass-produce many City-Destroying Level Symbionts.

"For the next two days, stay here and get accustomed to the thing in your head, then come with me to the Capital City to meet someone," Wu Liang said, then turned to leave, planning to continue handling City-Annihilating Ghosts.

Zeng Hu quickly asked his question: "Mr. Shadow! I wanted to ask... why did you insist on me taking that elixir? What would have happened if I hadn't taken it?"

Upon hearing this, the Emotion Ghost grinned widely.

It understood that although its earlier words hadn't made the kid hostile or hateful towards Wu Liang, they had, inevitably, planted a seed of suspicion.

After all, Wu Liang's previous actions were just too forceful and ruthless.

As long as the next words Wu Liang spoke gave it an opening, the Emotion Ghost felt it could slowly change Zeng Hu's current thoughts and perceptions.

The Emotion Ghost definitely wanted to make Wu Liang regret choosing himself to survive and become a Symbiont Fierce Ghost!

"Oh, if you don't take it, you don't take it. If you don't eat it, I'll just find someone else," Wu Liang said plainly.

"What?"

Both Zeng Hu and the Emotion Ghost were stunned by Wu Liang's extremely indifferent reply.

Was that the whole explanation? Was there no special reason for choosing this kid?

As if noting the other's perplexity, Wu Liang shrugged and continued, "I only said, 'Take it, and you can leave alive,' but I never said you'd die if you didn't take the pill, right? It was your choice to take it; I didn't force you."

"Well... that's true, but something still feels off!" Faced with this seemingly expressionless Mr. Shadow but with annoyingly nonchalant words, Zeng Hu finally couldn't help but complain.

What do you mean by "if you don't eat it, don't eat it"?!

Big brother, yesterday your demeanor made it seem like if I didn't take the elixir, you'd eat me instead!

I didn't hear you force me with words, sure, but did the atmosphere leave any room for me to refuse?

Did I dare refuse?!

The Emotion Ghost also fell completely silent.

Because not only did it not sense Zeng Hu's suspicion towards Wu Liang dissipate, it found that the kid's admiration and respect had grown even stronger.

Damn! He's not lying!

Even as a Spiritual Body like a Nightmare, although it couldn't defeat the other, it could at least sense from the soul and spiritual fluctuations if someone was speaking the truth.

Wu Liang's words were genuinely true!

If Zeng Hu hadn't agreed to swallow the elixir, he really wouldn't have forced him and would have simply looked for someone else to ask!

This was the Immortal Pill of Undying!

A divine miracle that no City-Destroying Ghost in the world could resist! Yet Wu Liang handled it so casually! Anyone could take it?

"Mr. Ghost... are you scared?"

Suddenly, Zeng Hu turned to look at the Emotion Ghost.

He sensed from the depths of his heart that the colorful figure behind him was fearing something; the feeling was mystical, as if they were conducting a soul dialogue with complete honesty and no deception.

"I am indeed scared. Someone who can treat an Immortal Pill as trash inevitably frightens me! What kind of monster is that?!"

After speaking, the colorful figure suddenly trembled all over.

Then it turned its gaze towards Wu Liang and locked eyes with his emotionless pupils.

Then Wu Liang's voice echoed like a death knell: "You have two days, teach this kid well. Remember, you two are already symbiotic; if something happens to him, you won't survive either."
