"Mount Tai? What? Are you performing a fengchan ceremony up there?"
Wu Liang saw the words from the Ghost Compendium and couldn't help but jokingly remark with some helplessness.
Meanwhile, the Fierce Ghosts and Residual Thoughts scattered all around saw a line of incomprehensible characters appear in the sky, and they felt an indescribable terror even more profoundly, kowtowing with loud thumping sounds.
Wu Liang found this sight even more exasperating.
Countless ghosts had fallen by his hand, yet it was the first time he was being worshipped like a deity.
He looked up at the sky again, but no more words appeared.
It was hard to understand what the Ghost Compendium was thinking. It seemed that he must go to the Peak of Mount Tai to uncover everything.
Thinking about it, Wu Liang suddenly had a premonition—the Ghost Compendium was deliberately avoiding appearing directly before him.
Was it expecting him to witness something on his journey there?
"But there's no meaning to that. The arduous climb of Mount Tai is only difficult for ordinary people. Even though I don't know where exactly I am now, if I can mention Mount Tai, the geography here should be similar to the real world, right?"
Wu Liang was somewhat puzzled.
He had so many Fierce Ghost Minions under his command that he could understand what the outside Fierce Ghosts were saying, even if he had to ask along the way and then fly closer.
If the geography of this world was basically consistent with the real world, then Wu Liang would reach Mount Tai Peak within about an hour at most.
What could he possibly witness in an hour?
Whoosh—
While thinking, Wu Liang rose into the air.
Regardless, he had to move first in the direction of so-called Mount Tai to get closer.
Thinking of this, Nightmare casually read through the memories of the nearby Fierce Ghosts, then pointed in the eastern direction and said, "Boss, in their memory, the place they referred to as Mount Tai is that way."
After obtaining the exact location, Wu Liang shot out like a cannonball.
He even cut through the air with a sonic boom, all his mind focused on quickly reaching Mount Tai Peak.
However, just a few minutes into the flight, an unusual feeling rose in his heart.
Frowning, Wu Liang asked Nightmare beside him with some confusion, "Do you feel like we're being watched by something? That hunter lurking feeling?"
Boom—
As the words left his mouth, a flash of lightning and thunder broke Wu Liang's reverie.
It also broke heavily upon his body.
The speed of the lightning was so fast that it was entirely invisible to the naked eye, striking directly at Wu Liang. Its power even burned his back to a charred black, with a faint smell of something burning.
Under the lightning's assault, Wu Liang naturally couldn't maintain his flight, plummeting toward the ground like a plane with broken wings.
Bam—
Just like when he first arrived in this world a few minutes ago, he crashed heavily to the ground. Only this time, it wasn't his choice to freefall but something had struck him down.
"Geez... What the hell was that?!"
Climbing tremulously out of the crater, Wu Liang couldn't help but complain about what had just happened.
Reaching out to gently touch his own back, a sharp, severe burn and pain surged to his heart, making Wu Liang grimace uncontrollably.
Since his physical condition reached the City-Destroying Level, Wu Liang hadn't suffered damage of this extent in a long time, even in battles against the Pioneer where it was primarily a clash of spiritual and supernatural means.
The Pioneer wasn't a fool; it knew better than to try and break through Wu Liang's ridiculously tough physical defenses.
This unfamiliar breaking blade injury left Wu Liang deeply shook.
"Chopping Knife... is my Breaking Blade still in effect? Has your condition deteriorated? What kind of attack was that from?" Wu Liang asked through gritted teeth, pulling out a rusted knife from the void.
A mouth full of sharp teeth appeared on the rusted knife, slowly explaining, "Master, the effect of the Breaking Blade has become a passive attribute of your body and will not disappear. My condition has not deteriorated, and that earlier lightning strike exceeded the range of a City-Destroying Level Fierce Ghost."
Upon hearing this, Wu Liang sighed and stood up.
The charred part of his back had already peeled off like shedding skin, revealing the white tender skin renewed under his clothing, making Wu Liang excitedly flex his neck.
"So, that means the thing in the sky is of Nation-Destroying Level?"
Although the opponent's move succeeded in breaking his defenses, it didn't seem to contain any special Fierce Ghost powers, allowing Wu Liang to heal quickly.
Yet, the Nation-Destroying Level lightning strike had him so excited he couldn't contain himself.
In the real world, at this stage, it's completely impossible to produce a Nation-Destroying Level Fierce Ghost. The closest encounter Wu Liang had was when Triton nearly summoned the Supernatural event Lost Realm.
Now a living Nation-Destruction Level Fierce Ghost was right above, how could he resist taking a closer look?
"Boss, think carefully. Based on that earlier strike, the opponent's strength could far exceed our coping range," Nightmare couldn't help but remind Wu Liang.
For it could sense that the lightning which descended did not carry any malice.
