A Core Ship From The Start

Chapter 1235: You're Really Weak (A New Month's Request for Update Votes)

When Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan walked out of the building, their expressions were as gloomy as could be.

Although they did indeed meet with the governor here, what disappointed Qui-Gon Jinn was that the other party was not a member of the Tribunal but a local. According to the governor, the Tribunal generally does not intervene in colonial issues; they only appear when humans are threatened or when taxes are collected. Other than that, as long as humanity is not in trouble, the Tribunal will not act randomly.

Because of this, Qui-Gon Jinn's mood had sunk to rock bottom.

This was nothing like he imagined!

It should be known that when he received this mission from the Jedi Council, Qui-Gon Jinn had considered many possibilities about the Tribunal. Such as them being some kind of evil organization, or opponents of the Galactic Republic, or perhaps pawns in the hands of certain conspirators. However, when they actually arrived in Tatooine and saw everything before them, they had to admit that this greatly surprised them.

The demands of the Tribunal themselves aren't uncommon in the Galactic Republic; one could even say that many separatist movements within the Galactic Republic share similar views with the Tribunal. They are dissatisfied with the Galactic Senate's neglect of their own race or favoritism towards other races, thus deciding to withdraw from the Galactic Senate... If this was all there was to it, then the Tribunal would just be another among them.

But the problem is that the demands of the Tribunal are not limited to this.

Although they did not meet any members of the Tribunal, in that chapel, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan both saw the Tribunal's doctrines and aims. To protect humanity at any cost and eliminate all threats to humans. The skull is a sacred and ancient human symbol, and thus only those with skulls are recognized as humans or Subhumans. As for other alien races, all are viewed as Aliens, to be completely annihilated.

The reason is simple, "Those not of our race must have different minds," the existence of other alien species is in itself a threat to humans, and must be eradicated!

To be honest, when seeing these doctrines, Qui-Gon Jinn gasped in shock.

This is even more radical than the Goddess's Royal Guard!

It must be known that the Goddess's Royal Guard a thousand years ago merely worshipped the Goddess and claimed humans were destined to rule the Milky Way and govern other races. Yet, the Tribunal is more extreme, skipping ruling altogether and going straight to annihilation!

They simply don't let you live!

This is far more radical than other separatist forces!

Of course, for Qui-Gon Jinn and other Jedi Knights, they can never accept the doctrines and aims of the Tribunal. After all, they are loyal to the Galactic Republic and its systems, so such radical doctrines from the Tribunal are unacceptable to Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan.

However... their feelings are quite complicated too.

Though they are Jedi Knights, they are also human. Many times, they indeed witness humans being oppressed by other races, yet due to their identity as Jedi Knights, they cannot take action arbitrarily. It could be said, that if the Tribunal didn't have such excessively extreme and radical doctrines, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan might even support their actions.

"I can't understand, Master."

Walking out of the chapel, Obi-Wan looked bewildered.

"Are they really an evil organization?"

It's no wonder Obi-Wan asks this, given their common sense, such blatant slogans and doctrines that only protect humans and Subhuman races while condemning other alien races to death should be hidden. Normally, even if such organizations harbored these thoughts, they would hide them or use some "we are righteous, they are evil, we are oppressed, they are oppressors" rhetoric to justify their actions.

As Jedi Knights, Obi-Wan encountered such situations often, where many terrorists or enemies of the Galactic Republic claim at their end that their actions are just and they had no choice, ultimately saying they weren't wrong... Of course, Jedi Knights don't listen to such nonsense.

Yet this Tribunal doesn't even bother with such pretenses, openly saying that all races other than humans should die, with the only reason being they pose a threat to humans. Whether now or in the future, to eliminate evil at its root, the Tribunal wants to annihilate all these alien races, leaving none!

Such a blunt, overt style of saying "I'm going to kill you" really made Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan uncomfortable.

At least put on an act, aren't you even going to pretend? How can you be so audacious? Do you even listen to yourself? To say such outrageous things as calmly as discussing what to eat for the day?

"I don't know either, but it is certain, the Tribunal is definitely a threat to the Republic."

Qui-Gon Jinn silently shook his head. On one hand, the Tribunal obviously represents separatism, and human separatism at that, which is very frightening. On the other hand, if the Tribunal truly adheres to these principles, they certainly won't align with separatists within the Galactic Republic since, according to the Tribunal, most of those separatist races are considered Aliens...
