Demons Beside You

Chapter 262 - Change For Good

Chapter 262: Change For Good

“Maybe we took the wrong sample,” Perez said. “So there are some mistakes in the test results. In the report, the activity of cancerous cells is quickly weakening. They seem to be going dormant. This doesn’t match their development.”

Risfar’s eyes shone. “You’re saying that Lora’s cancer cells are weakening, right?”

“Mr. Risfar, this should be a mistake,” Perez said. “Perhaps the lab staff took a sample from another patient. This should be the report of someone with benign cancer cells.”

Right now, Risfar couldn’t help but get excited. It was right. It was definitely right.

The treatment was effective!

“Mr. Risfar…Mr. Risfar, are you listening?”

“I’m sorry. Please continue.”

“I wish to test Lora again. Is that okay?”

“Uh…” Risfar thought for a bit and answered, “Okay. Thank you.”

This was just to be safe. What if they really did get the wrong sample?

Risfar waited for another hour. This time was faster than the last. When Perez came out with the report, his brows were furrowed deeply.

“Mr. Risfar, did you give Lora any medicine?”

“No, why?” Risfar answered instinctively. Lying straight through one’s teeth was an innate skill for businessmen.

“I wish for Lora to remain in the hospital for us to continue observing.”

“No,” Risfar said. “I want to bring her home.”

“Mr. Risfar, Lora’s condition isn’t good right now. If anything happens when she’s at home, it may delay the emergency treatment.”

“I have a private doctor. You don’t have to worry about this.”

Ignoring Perez’s advice, Risfar insisted on taking Lora out of the hospital. Lora didn’t wake up until around eight o’clock at night and realized that she was home.

“Johnny.”

Risfar immediately went to Lora’s side. “Lora, you’re awake.”

“Where are Vera and Ronnie?”

“I sent them to John’s.”

“Why are they there? I miss them.”

“Lora, your condition is the most important thing right now.”

“Johnny, have you still not accepted reality? I don’t have much time left. I hope Ronnie and Vera can be by my side. Let me have them with me during my last moments.”

“No, Lora. Chen can cure you.”

“Johnny, I don’t know where you found a scammer. You were full of common sense before.”

Risfar smiled wryly. If Chen heard Lora say this about him, he might cut all ties with him.

“Lora, just listen to me once and drink this medicine.”

“If drinking it can make you feel better, I’ll do it.” Unconvinced, Lora accepted the black potion and drank it all.

“Rest well.” Risfar kissed Lora’s forehead.

“Rest early too.”

Lora opened her eyes. She discovered that she’d slept for ten full hours last night. This was a miracle for her.

In the past few years, she could only sleep for 30 minutes each day before she was woken up by pain. The brain tumor pressed down on her nerve. Sometimes, her emotions would cause a change in blood flow and bring insufferable pain.

But today, she didn’t feel any headache when she woke up.

Lora tapped her head. No pain.

The most incredible thing was that she felt hungry!

Lora hadn’t felt hungry in a long time. Because of the treatment, she had a very, very bad appetite.

She had to be forced to eat every day. Most times, nutrients were injected into her. The day after chemotherapy was the most painful.

“Johnny,” Lora called.

Risfar came in and pushed her wheelchair to the bed. “Lora, how do you feel today?”

Lora climbed up by herself and stood up weakly. Risfar hurriedly went to support her, but Lora pushed his hands away.

“It’s weird. I feel so much more energetic today. Johnny, I want to eat. I’m hungry.”

“Uh…are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m hungry. I’m starving. Is there anything to eat?”

“I’ll go find you some food.”

“I’ll go myself,” Lora said as she walked out.

She hadn’t walked on her feet in a long time. Risfar was worried that she would fall. After all, Lora was too frail now, so Risfar protected her carefully, like guarding a little kid.

He watched Lora pick up a piece of fruit in the living room and start munching.

“I feel hungrier after eating this apple. I want to eat meat.”

“Are you sure? It’s morning right now.”

“Yes, I’m sure.”

“I’ll have the kitchen prepare it right now.”

After ordering the kitchen, Risfar called Chen Zhao. “Chen, Lora seems to be much better. Is there anything I should watch out for? Like what can she eat? What can’t she eat?”

“Other than alcohol, you can give her anything she wants to eat.”

“That wine isn’t okay either?”

“Give it to her after she’s completely recovered,” Chen Zhao said. “Also, bring her to me again. I need to run a test.”

“Okay, when are you free?”

“Today. Do you have time?”

“Of course,” Risfar said hurriedly. Nothing was more important than Lora now.

Lora ate steak with big bites. She hadn’t eaten so freely in a long time. Now, she realized that her condition was different.

“Johnny, how is my sickness now?”

“You can’t feel it?”

“I’m really better?”

“Chen can only tell us the exact results after a test, but I told you. Chen can cure you.”

“It’s really him who cured me?”

“Who else do you think can do it? You know, he cured Coy too.”

“Coy recovered?” Lora was shocked. It was her first time hearing this.

“Yes. Coy is luckier than you. He met Chen before you.”

“Thank god.”

“You should thank the man you called a scam.”

“Okay, I’ll apologize to him. He’s really a miraculous Chinese man.”

“Also, you can’t tell anyone about this. Chen doesn’t want other people to know.”

“Why? Won’t curing a cancer patient bring him fame and wealth?”

“You think curing cancer is easy? Do you think he can treat every cancer patient in the world?”

“Okay, you’re right.”

“When you recover fully, I’ll give you an even bigger surprise.”
