My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 124: The Pleasures of the Wealthy!

"Let's go, let's go up and have a look." Lin Jiajun could no longer contain his excitement, eager to see what this yacht looked like inside. Lin Feng was just as impatient.

Once they boarded the yacht, they stood on the deck looking out over the vast Mei River. Lin Jiajun stretched out his arms. "I love this feeling!"

When Lin Feng saw that Zhang Yuxi hadn't said anything, he couldn't help but ask, "Honey, are you unhappy that I spent money on this yacht?"

Zhang Yuxi shook her head. "Honey, I told you before, I'll support you in whatever you do."

Zhao Lizhen had a point. A man who's willing to spend money is a man who's motivated to earn it. Of course, it all depends on what he spends it on. Spending it on improper things or other people is a waste. But is it really spending if it's for your own family?

Lin Feng was moved by Zhang Yuxi's understanding and trust. "I looked into it," he said, "and if we move back to Yangcheng in the future, we can even have the yacht transported there. When the weather gets nice, we can take it out to sea. How does that sound?"

Zhang Yuxi nestled against him. Honestly, she'd been completely shocked at first. But now, she understood that this man was always thinking about his family. She found herself looking forward to it, too. Taking the yacht out to sea with the babies in the summer would be a lot of fun.

The deck was furnished with built-in sofas and a coffee table. Below deck was the helm, followed by the main cabin which included a living room, a small kitchen, and a head. Aft, there was a storage locker and a small lounge. The living room was spacious and luxuriously decorated, perfect for watching TV or singing karaoke. The lowest level held the sleeping quarters. There was a master stateroom with an en suite bathroom, a secondary stateroom, a double-berth cabin, a single-berth cabin, and a shared head. Even the smallest single cabin was fully appointed.

Everyone couldn't help but marvel aloud.

"Having money is really something else."

"No wonder everyone wants to be rich. This is paradise on earth!"

Wang Lu whispered to Lin Jiajun, "This must have cost seven or eight million, right?"

Lin Jiajun speculated, "Yachts are high-end luxury items. The upkeep alone must be expensive, probably over a million a year."

Wang Lu tugged at his sleeve; the couple had never been so in sync. "You need to have a serious talk with Lin Feng about working for him."

Lin Jiajun nodded. That's what I was thinking, too. He had already made up his mind: he wasn't going back to that construction site job.

In the kitchenette, Du Yan looked around and asked Lin Rui, "Where do you think Lin Feng got all this money?"

Lin Rui shook his head. "I have no idea, and even if we asked, he probably wouldn't tell us."

Lin Feng suggested, "Why don't we have dinner here tonight?"

Lin Jiajun threw his hands up in agreement. "Let's get dry pot! The kind that comes with its own small hot pot so it stays warm. But we'll need more hands. I can't carry all that food by myself."

Except for Wang Lu and Zhang Yuxi, who stayed on the yacht, everyone else left to order the food and help carry it back. Lin Jiajun called both groups of relatives and told them to come to Berth No. 2 at the eastern shore wharf for dinner.

Lin Dahu was puzzled. "Is there even a place like that around here?"

Lin Daan hesitated for a moment before replying, "There must be. He wouldn't tell us to go there for no reason."

"Well, let's go! Let's see what we're having tonight!"

"It's probably a street food stall or a barbecue joint."

Lin Dashan didn't hear them; he was too busy happily counting his winnings. Zhang Fuyong had won the most, over two thousand yuan, and Lin Dashan himself had made nearly a thousand. The losers were Lin Daan and Lin Dahu. Lin Dahu had lost the most, but he wasn't sore about it. If you don't spend money during the New Year, when else are you supposed to?

"Since you won, you should buy us a pack of cigarettes," Lin Dahu suggested.

Zhang Fuyong laughed. "You got it."

The four men laughed heartily as they got into their separate cars and drove off.

Zhao Lizhen had already driven off in the RV. When her group received Lin Jiajun's call, they were puzzled but hurried on their way. Zhao Lizhen checked the navigation. "It's a half-hour drive! Let's get going, quick!"

In the car, Lin Dahu's wife proved she and her husband were on the same wavelength. "Do you think it's a food stall or a barbecue place? The younger generation loves that kind of thing."

Third Aunt, who was Lin Daan's wife, had left her grandson with her in-laws for the day so she could finally relax and have some fun. The smile hadn't left her face all day. "I don't know," she said. "We'll find out when we get there."

Back on the yacht, Wang Lu caressed her bulging belly, watching a video on her phone while occasionally glancing at Zhang Yuxi bustling about in the kitchenette.

The men were the first to arrive. By the time they reached the destination, it was already dark. They looked around, but there was nothing there. Where's the dinner he promised us?

Lin Daan's good mood vanished, and he furiously called his son. "Are you sure this is the right address? Did you get it wrong?"

But this was Lin Jiajun they were talking about, a walking map of Meicheng, a living encyclopedia of all its best spots for food and fun. How could he possibly make a mistake?

"Dad, the address is correct! Just walk ahead to Berth Number 2 and call Lu Lu when you're there," Lin Jiajun said quickly. "I'm still busy, gotta go."

Lin Daan hung up, his face dark. "He said to keep walking forward."

The four men trudged on. Lin Dahu chuckled. "It's been a long time since the three of us brothers have taken a walk together like this." Lin Daan grunted in agreement while Lin Dashan remained silent.

They walked on until they reached Berth No. 2. There was nobody there. Not a single soul in sight. Lin Daan seriously suspected he'd been sent on a wild goose chase.

Lin Dashan tried to calm him. "Hold on, let me ask someone." He approached the dock attendant. "Excuse me, can you tell me where we can get something to eat around here?"

The attendant gave him a look as if he were an idiot. "Eat? This is a wharf full of boats. What are you going to eat, fish you caught yourself?"

Annoyed, Lin Daan called Wang Lu. Just then, a voice called out, "Dad, I'm up here!"

They all looked around for the source of the voice. The attendant pointed at a large yacht. "She's up there."

The men took a few steps back and looked up, finally spotting Wang Lu waving from the deck. "Be careful! Don't fall off!" Lin Daan shouted.

"Come on up this way!" Wang Lu called, waving them over.

The men exchanged uncertain glances as the attendant kindly switched on some lights to illuminate their path. By now, the neon lights along both banks of the Mei River were beginning to flicker on, casting a colorful glow on the water.

"This must be rented, right?" Lin Dahu asked. "It looks incredibly luxurious." Knowing his own son, he was certain this was beyond his means.

Lin Daan nodded in agreement. "It has to be rented. A boat like this would cost several million!" He, too, thought that his son, Lin Jiajun, might be audacious enough to do something like this, but he certainly didn't have the money for it.

Lin Dashan, however, secretly guessed that Lin Feng was behind it. After all, he did just give me an SUV out of the blue today.

Once the four men set foot on the deck, their composure crumbled. "I'm going to take a look inside!" Lin Dahu announced, already stomping eagerly towards the cabin.

They all began exploring, gawking like country bumpkins in the big city.

"Holy cow!" Lin Dahu exclaimed from inside. "It's so luxurious in here!"

He plopped down on a sofa. "Wow, this is comfortable! You guys have to come sit down and feel this." Not a second later, he was back on his feet and heading for the kitchenette. "A fridge, a sink, cabinets... what's this? A dishwasher? How fancy! The bathroom is spotless, too. Looks brand new, like it's never been used."

He then scrambled up to the next level, his voice echoing down again. "It's all bedrooms up here! The master stateroom is huge..."

The other three followed him, looking around and making comments as they went.

Just then, the hired captain arrived, his eyes widening at the sight of the magnificent yacht. Zhang Yuxi greeted him, "Hello. Please wait for a moment, my husband isn't back yet."

The captain was very polite. "No problem, no rush at all. I'll just go check out the helm."

As soon as he entered the helm, his eyes lit up. Good heavens, look at all this high-tech equipment! I can't wait to see how it all works!
