「Half an hour later.」
After finishing their meal at the restaurant, they prepared to go look at the property. Under the man's guidance, the group hurried to Tuanjie Road, where a very impressive hot pot restaurant was located.
They walked inside and found the interior filled with trendy decor. The vast space, however, had only two or three tables occupied by customers.
The man smiled and said, "You can all look around. I'll go get the owner to come and talk with you."
None of them had expected the place to be so large, spanning two full floors. Judging from the decor, the owner had clearly poured his heart into it. But business was a gamble, with both successes and failures.
"Good heavens," Lin Jiajun exclaimed. "Taking over this place must cost hundreds of thousands. Can we even afford it?"
Jiang Anmin nodded. "The shop itself is great, but we don't have that kind of money on hand. Besides, we need to hold on to some operating capital." If they poured all their money into it and the business failed, they'd lose everything.
Lin Feng was very satisfied with the restaurant's decor. The design concept was modern and appealed to young people.
Jiang Qian held up a finger. "For this place, I'm afraid we couldn't get it without a transfer fee of at least a million."
Her statement immediately crushed Jiang Anmin and Lin Jiajun's last sliver of hope.
Just then, the owner came over. He was a man in his thirties with a very enthusiastic attitude.
"Please, have a seat, have a seat!" he insisted, then instructed a server to bring them fruit and desserts.
Boss Qian smiled warmly. "My surname is Qian. I'm a straightforward person, so I'll just cut to the chase. Are you satisfied with my shop? Are you thinking of taking it over?"
Jiang Anmin and Lin Jiajun remained silent.
Lin Feng asked, "Boss Qian, how much are you looking to sell for?"
Boss Qian's gaze locked onto Lin Feng, recognizing him as the decision-maker. He hesitated for a moment before saying in a probing tone, "One million eight hundred thousand."
Jiang Anmin and Lin Jiajun both gasped.
Even Lin Feng's expression changed slightly. "Boss Qian, do we look like we can afford one million eight hundred thousand?"
"Come now, young man, the price is negotiable," Boss Qian replied.
"Then let's negotiate properly. I want a final price. If it works, great. If not, we walk." Lin Feng's tone was firm.
This put Boss Qian in a bind. "If you're really serious... I won't beat around the bush. One million two hundred thousand! I can't go any lower!"
Lin Feng shook his head. "Nine hundred thousand. I can pay you right now."
Boss Qian was taken aback. So this guy wasn't short on cash!
He shook his head vigorously. "No, no. One million two hundred thousand is the absolute minimum. Look at my decor! Just look at it! I used only the best materials. And this wallpaper, feel it! It's all high-quality stuff. I meticulously chose every detail of the design myself. This place is my blood, sweat, and tears!"
Lin Feng's face remained impassive as he repeated his offer. "Final price, nine hundred thousand. Otherwise, we're leaving." He made a move to stand, showing he wasn't bluffing.
Lin Jiajun's mind worked quickly. "Look, what good is your fancy decor? People come here to eat, not to admire the wallpaper."
That was a low blow. After all, if business were any good, would he be selling the place?
Lin Jiajun pressed on, "Don't hesitate. The next person to walk in might only offer you five hundred thousand."
Boss Qian was stunned. Lin Jiajun had guessed correctly; someone had indeed offered him five hundred thousand.
Jiang Anmin stood up. "Auntie, let's go. We have plenty of time, there's no need to rush this."
Jiang Qian nodded. "That's right. With our money, I'm sure we can find another good shop."
The man who had accompanied Jiang Qian, silent until now, finally spoke up. "You should just sell it for cheap while you can. If you hold onto this mess, you might still be stuck here after the New Year."
Those words hit home. Boss Qian gritted his teeth and relented. "Fine! That's the price. And it includes one year of rent!"
Lin Feng had Jiang Anmin and Lin Jiajun begin to take inventory of everything, writing it all down. Jiang Qian and Su Qiqi also went to help.
Now it was Boss Qian's turn to worry that Lin Feng would back out. "A deal's a deal! Let's handle the payment now!"
He had already prepared the contract when he decided to sell, and it clearly laid out all the terms and conditions. After they signed, Lin Feng transferred nine hundred thousand to Boss Qian.
"Please check your account."
Boss Qian looked at his meticulously decorated shop with mixed feelings of relief and reluctance. "Are you also planning to run a hot pot business?"
"No. A buffet-style hot pot and steak house."
Boss Qian's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea!"
Once the inventory was finished, Lin Feng shared his vision. "We'll offer buffet-style fish hot pot, steak, and barbecue."
Lin Jiajun asked hesitantly, "Won't that be too much of a mix?"
Lin Feng shook his head. "If we only do one thing, we'd be wasting such a large space. Offering more variety gives customers more options and will attract different types of diners."
Jiang Anmin agreed with his idea.
"An Min, take this down," Lin Feng instructed. "I need a large refrigerated display case from here... to this spot... There needs to be an ice cream machine over here, a beverage station there, and the fruit station can go here...
"Clear out this entire section for me. I want to put in a children's play area.
"Also, install a TV that only shows children's movies."
He paused, thinking. "Do you two have anything to add?"
The two men were dumbfounded. No wonder this guy is so successful, they thought. There's a clear reason for it.
"If there's nothing else, let's get moving. We'll aim to open before the Lantern Festival," Lin Feng continued. "I'm leaving this in your hands. I have to look after the babies, so I can't spare the time. Tomorrow, have Boss Qian introduce you to the landlord. As for the finances, put it all on my tab for now. We'll sort out the details later."
And just like that, Lin Feng settled the matter. Neither of the other two had any objections.
It was getting late. The event on the yacht had already ended, so Lin Feng caught a ride home in Lin Jiajun's car.
Lin Jiajun hummed a little tune the entire way, his spirits soaring.
"Lin Feng, from now on, I'll follow your lead," he declared. "Rest assured, I'll work my absolute hardest! I'll get along with Jiang Anmin so I don't cause you any trouble."
Lin Feng smiled. "Good. I'll be counting on you to handle things at the shop."
"Leave it to me! You won't have to worry about a thing here while you're in Yangcheng."
