My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 171: A Cyber Cafe in One's Own Home

After lunch, his cousins were discussing something. Lin Feng pretended not to notice and asked Zhang Yuxi to take the babies upstairs for their nap. In the end, it seemed they had reached a decision.

"Bro, we're going out to play for a while. We'll be back tonight," one of them said.

"Okay, call me if you need anything."

"Mm."

"Remember to come back for dinner."

Chen Miaomiao, who was trailing behind the others, whispered, "Bro, I'm going to an internet cafe to play games."

Play games?

Lin Feng called them back and led them down to the first basement level. What was once a card room had been converted into a small, circular cybercafe with six stations.

All four of them were stunned. They had only been from the garage to the elevator, so they thought there was nothing else down here.

I can't believe it's this big!

Lin Feng smiled. "There's equipment for working out, playing basketball, and gaming—everything is here."

Of course, the small cybercafe had been prepared just for them. Lin Feng had started setting it up as soon as he knew they were coming.

"Bro, want to join us for a game?"

Lin Feng shook his head. "No thanks. You guys have fun."

Once Lin Feng left, the four of them began to explore.

"Your brother must have set this cybercafe up specially for us. Everything is brand new; no one's touched it."

"Your brother is so good to us!"

"Come on, how about we play a match?"

"Sounds great!"

"I'll play too."

The other three paused, surprised to hear that Chen Miaomiao wanted to join the basketball game. Feeling a bit embarrassed by their stares, Chen Miaomiao scratched his head. "Actually, I can play basketball. I practiced for two and a half years, I'm just not that good at it."

Lin Jie laughed. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

During their first year of high school, they would occasionally play on the school court or at the neighborhood court. By their second year, however, the heavier academic workload meant they had to say goodbye to basketball.

The four of them took off their jackets, looking ready for a serious match.

Don't let Chen Miaomiao's chubby appearance fool you; his jumping ability was far superior to the other three. From his passing and dribbling, it was clear he'd been coached by an expert.

Yang Zheng couldn't help but look at Chen Miaomiao in a new light. "Damn, you're good! You put the rest of us to shame!"

Meng Liang was also surprised. "I never thought the big guy had it in him. We really underestimated you."

Lin Jie gave Chen Miaomiao a thumbs-up.

"Come on, let's keep playing."

By the time they finished their game, the babies were already awake from their naps. There were bathrooms on both the first and second basement levels, and as they showered, the four of them cracked the raunchiest jokes. After showering, they discussed pulling an all-nighter playing games.

When they got back to the living room, they found Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi getting ready to go for a walk.

"Do you want to come with us?"

They thought about it for a moment. "Sure."

A huge supermarket had opened near the Emerald Lake Villas, stocking everything one could possibly need. Now, Lin Feng could shop right on his doorstep. It even had an app that offered delivery within two hours.

After the babies woke up from their naps, Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi would often take them to the supermarket. A children's playground had opened right at the entrance, featuring a large sandpit inside. To celebrate its opening, the playground was running a promotion, so Lin Feng had bought a multi-visit pass for each of the babies. This was already their third visit. The babies absolutely loved it and never wanted to leave.

Since Lin Feng had the passes, they followed the rules, which required both the adults and the babies to wear new socks to enter. While the babies played, Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi watched them closely. The sandpit was filled with toys: little pushcarts, excavators, windmills, and small shovels.

"Look, here comes the digger..."

"It's going to dig! I dig, I dig, I'll dig again!"

Zhang Yuxi picked up one of the toy cars and played with the babies, as lost in the moment as a child herself. While she was having a blast playing with Fourth Baby, Second Baby was busy treasure hunting in the sand.

She felt something and dug out a die-cast toy car, about the size of her hand. It had obviously been left behind by another child. Feeling as if she had discovered a real treasure, Second Baby brought it over to show her father.

"Daddy, Daddy, car, car..."

Lin Feng saw every little thing his babies did. He put on an exaggeratedly amazed expression. "Wow, where did Second Baby find this? This car is so pretty!"

Second Baby played with the car, her little face beaming with happiness after being praised. When Fourth Baby saw this, he wanted to play too. Second Baby glanced at him and, without a hint of possessiveness, simply handed the car over. She probably figured she could just dig up another one and immediately went back to vigorously hunting for treasure.

Eldest Baby was diligently filling a small bucket with sand and then dumping it out, over and over, as if it were an endless source of fun. Second Baby, the little one, leaned against Lin Feng, playing with the sand. Third Baby was incredibly lazy, playing with the sand with an air of complete indifference.

Lin Jie and his three friends went for a stroll through the supermarket and returned with popcorn and sodas, ready for their all-night gaming session.

Looking at the time, Lin Feng decided it was time to leave.

"Babies, we can play for five more minutes."

"We have to leave in five minutes, okay?"

Whether the babies understood him or not, Lin Feng had made his intentions clear. The moment Third Baby heard they were leaving, he instantly perked up. He scrambled to his feet and toddled unsteadily over to Lin Feng. "Daddy, go, go!" he said, pointing toward the exit.

Lin Feng coaxed him, "In a moment. But first, let Daddy brush all this sand off you." As he spoke, he gently patted the sand from Third Baby's clothes.

When his babies played here, Lin Feng always made sure they were fully equipped in long socks and hats that covered their ears. He took off Third Baby's hat and socks, changed him into his walking shoes, and placed him in his stroller. Zhang Yuxi went over to watch him while Lin Feng got the other babies ready one by one.

"Stop playing, Fourth Baby. It's time for us to go."

"No! Don't wanna!" Fourth Baby protested.

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying you want to stay here and play? You're not coming with us?"

Fourth Baby lowered his head and continued playing, letting out a hum of agreement.

Lin Feng asked again, "Really? You're not coming with us?"

Fourth Baby hummed again.

Lin Feng stood up. "Alright then. Mommy and I are going home. You can keep playing."

Fourth Baby looked up just in time to see Lin Feng putting on his shoes, preparing to leave with Zhang Yuxi.

"Let's go," Lin Feng said. "Fourth Baby said he wants to stay here and play."

Zhang Yuxi played along with her husband's act. "Okay, let's go then."

Fourth Baby instantly panicked, the toys completely forgotten. "Daddy, Mommy, don't go!"

Lin Feng turned back and spoke to him seriously. "Fourth Baby, we're all going home now. We're not going to wait for you if you want to play all by yourself."

Fourth Baby probably only registered the words "going home." He dropped his toy and ran toward them. "Go home."

Just as he was about to fall, Lin Feng scooped him up. His heart ached for his son.

"If this happens again, you'll have to find your own way home. Mommy and Daddy won't wait for you."

Fourth Baby hugged Lin Feng tightly, looking as if he were terrified of being abandoned. Lin Feng held him close.

"If you want to play, Daddy and Mommy will bring you again next time," he said softly. "But after we play, we have to go home. We can't stay here forever, right? The playground has to close."

"Look, all the other babies are going home with their mommies and daddies."

Fourth Baby reluctantly sat down in his stroller.

Lin Feng called Lin Jie to tell them they were waiting at the entrance.

"Bro, we're already here."

The group returned home. With Lin Jie and the other three around, there was basically nothing for Zhang Yuxi to do in the kitchen.

Just as Lin Feng was about to leave the kitchen, he saw Second Baby approaching in her walker.

"Daddy, car, car..."

"What car?" Lin Feng asked, surprised.

Second Baby did her best to explain. "Dig... diggy car..."

Even though the babies couldn't always express themselves clearly, Lin Feng could usually understand them. He suddenly remembered: he had given the die-cast car back to the playground's owner.

He quickly explained, "An older boy came by and said he had dropped that car, so he took it back."

In a toddler's mind, if you find something, it's yours. From all of Lin Feng's words, Second Baby latched onto the most important part.

Taken back!

Suddenly, her heart broke, and she burst into tears with a loud wail.

Lin Feng was speechless.

He squatted down and tried to explain the situation to Second Baby. Fourth Baby might have listened calmly to his reasoning, but Second Baby? She made it perfectly clear that she wasn't listening to a word of it.

She wanted her little car.
