My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 233: The Simple Life is the True One

While the children were napping, Lin Feng tidied up the guest room for Jiang Chenchen's parents to rest.

"Honey, where are you going?" Zhang Yuxi asked.

"I'm going to make some snacks for the kids. They'll probably get hungry quickly at the amusement park. I'll make some congee, too."

"Thank you, honey, you work so hard!"

Once inside the guest room, the couple looked around admiringly.

"This decor is beautiful, and the craftsmanship of the cabinets is excellent."

"And this bed is so comfortable."

When Jiang Chenchen's father came out of the bathroom after washing his face, he saw the envious expression on his wife's face, and it left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Before she married him, her family had found her a man with excellent prospects. He owned two properties, his parents had retirement pensions, and he had a respectable job. He had treated her well, and taking her abroad for vacation was no great feat for him. It was he who had relentlessly pursued her, finally winning her heart. During a recent trip back to their hometown, he had inadvertently learned that the man still wasn't married, and his business was only getting bigger and bigger.

"Honey..."

"Hmm?"

"I'll work hard to give you and our son a good life."

She cupped his face in her hands and smiled softly. "Darling, I know you treat me very well and take great care of our family. That's why I married you. I wasn't after anything else. A simple, quiet life is wonderful. As long as we try our best, that's all that matters. We don't need to compare ourselves to others."

The more she said this, the more it gnawed at him.

After Lin Feng finished making the congee and cookies, it was time to wake the children. He went upstairs and found Zhang Yuxi already changing the quadruplets' clothes.

The second baby urged, "Hurry up, Mommy, I want to go play!"

Since they would be playing all afternoon, Zhang Yuxi dressed her in pants and a short-sleeved shirt. As for her hair, she was at a loss. "Go ask Daddy to do it."

Lin Feng just gave it a quick brush, put in a fluffy little hair clip, and she was perfect!

When Jiang Chenchen woke up and didn't see his parents, he began to panic. Lin Feng soothed him, "They're resting downstairs. I'll go get them now."

Jiang Chenchen followed closely behind Lin Feng as he knocked on the guest room door. The moment it opened, Jiang Chenchen threw himself into his mother's arms.

His mother picked him up, hugging him tightly. "Mommy's here!"

Jiang Chenchen's family rode in Zhang Yuxi's car, while Lin Feng drove the BMW. They arrived at the children's amusement park, where Lin Feng scanned the tickets he had already bought online to let everyone in.

What's the most dreadful part of taking toddlers out? It's having to carry them everywhere. Little ones get tired easily, but they refuse to sit in strollers. So, parents become human tools, carrying them wherever they point and running back and forth at their command until they're run ragged. Managing one baby is feasible, but with four, it's impossible to keep up.

That's why Lin Feng had again custom-ordered special strollers. They were from an international brand, designed somewhat like shopping carts, with excellent shock absorption and a foldable design. They were easy to store in the car and gave the babies a wide, clear view. Just as he'd expected, they were a huge hit.

Lin Feng pushed one stroller and Zhang Yuxi pushed the other, while Jiang Chenchen's father carried him.

For children aged one or two, the amusement park's options were mostly limited to things like water-spray games, netting little fish, and rides where adults could accompany them. The other attractions all had height and age requirements. But that didn't stop the babies from enjoying the sights. They were perfectly happy just watching!

Upon entering the park, their first stop was the carousel. The children were too young to ride alone, so one adult could accompany each baby. Jiang Chenchen's father stayed behind to watch their belongings while the others took the kids for a ride.

"I want the unicorn!"

"I want the little horse!"

"I want the mermaid!"

Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi rode the carousel with the children. After that, the babies wanted to ride the little train. This ride didn't require adult supervision; the operator just turned on the remote control. After five laps, the ride was over.

Jiang Chenchen's mother whispered, "Twenty yuan per person for just five laps... that's four yuan per lap! So expensive!"

Before they even entered the park, Lin Feng had insisted that the day was his treat. But even though they weren't spending their own money, it still felt incredibly pricey to them.

Just as they got off the train, the owner approached with a beaming smile. "Hey kids, want to go again? If you want, you can go right ahead!"

Jiang Chenchen's parents were speechless.

Of course, the babies hadn't had their fill of fun yet. So, Lin Feng went to buy more tickets, and they all went for another round.

Next up was whack-a-mole. A row of little machines stood ready, at three yuan per game. They each picked up the little mallets and tapped away. Their swings were weak, but they were just in it for the fun of the commotion.

They continued to walk and browse, eventually taking the babies to catch goldfish. This activity was charged by the hour. For thirty-five yuan, you got an hour of netting fish, and you could keep three of them in a small tank afterward. The kids used little paper nets, and to the adults, it seemed like a complete waste of money. But the kids found it fascinating!

After Lin Feng paid, all the adults had to do was watch the babies fish, leaving them with nothing to do. They took this chance to rest for a while.

Zhang Yuxi genuinely felt that playing with the kids was even more exhausting than shopping. And did you think letting the babies play on their own was enough? No, they demanded you join them and share in their joy.

For example, the moment Lin Feng sat down, the fourth and second babies started calling for him. Jiang Chenchen started calling for his mom. The third baby also called out for Zhang Yuxi, and then for Lin Feng to come over.

"Mommy's a little tired," Zhang Yuxi said. "How about Daddy plays with you instead, okay?"

Nearby, Jiang Chenchen's mother was also tired. She nudged her husband. "Go on, go see what he wants."

The two exhausted women exchanged a glance and couldn't help but laugh.

Jiang Chenchen's mother truly admired Lin Feng. "Your husband is amazing, taking care of four babies so well! And he's so patient and gentle, too! Don't you guys have a nanny?"

If it were her, with so much money, she would have easily hired a nanny to help with the housework and children.

Zhang Yuxi's gaze softened as she looked at Lin Feng. "He says he can manage on his own. We'll hire a nanny when he really can't handle it anymore. He's been looking after them since they were three months old, managing every little thing himself. He's hardly ever let me lift a finger."

Jiang Chenchen's mother was filled with envy. It's so hard to find a good man like that.

They had thought the babies would get bored after ten minutes, but they ended up playing for over half an hour, scooping and scooping, completely lost in the fun.

After that activity was over, the babies were let loose on the ground and were running around like wild little monkeys. There was no choice but to put them back in their strollers and give them some water. Lin Feng took two bento boxes out of his backpack; their lids doubled as small bowls.

Lin Feng had made walnut and peanut congee. He poured a small bowl for Jiang Chenchen to eat by himself, then began feeding three of his own little ones while Zhang Yuxi fed the fourth. After playing for over an hour, the moment they sat down and smelled the fragrant congee, they all felt hungry. The food was still hot, so they blew on each spoonful, and all the children were very well-behaved as they ate.

After the babies finished eating, Lin Feng pushed their strollers as they slowly wandered through the park. When they saw a vendor selling bubble wands, he bought one for each child and let them blow to their hearts' content. These were about the only activities in the park suitable for them.

As they made their way, the babies found endless delight in blowing bubbles, their innocent faces breaking into giggles.
