My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 237 Xinghao International Hotel

「The next day.」

Lin Feng made breakfast, then called for Zhang Yuxi to get up.

"Honey, time for breakfast," he said. "Also, I have to go out."

The second sentence successfully woke Zhang Yuxi. She scrambled out of bed, threw on a robe, and hurried downstairs.

"You go handle your business. I'll watch the babies."

Lin Feng had already finished getting ready. "Alright, I'm leaving now. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay."

Zhang Yuxi saw Lin Feng off before she went to wash up and eat. Now that the babies were a little older, they didn't need an adult watching them constantly, aside from when they needed to use the potty. Besides, they would always announce when they needed to go.

After finishing her meal, Zhang Yuxi lay on the sofa and began to doze off. The babies were in their play area, each absorbed in their own activity.

"Babies, call Mommy if you need anything, okay? Mommy's just going to close her eyes for a little while."

Lin Feng saw this scene through the monitor. Fortunately, before leaving, he had given the family's dog, Big White, a glorious and challenging task: watch over the babies and go get Zhang Yuxi if anything seemed amiss.

He drove to Xinghao International, parked the car, and made a phone call. In less than thirty seconds, a man in a sharp suit carrying a briefcase walked over.

Perhaps because this was an operational hotel—unlike the shops and villas the system had previously awarded him—certain procedures required his personal attention.

"You must be Mr. Lin. This way, please."

As he stepped through the door, he was greeted by two lovely hostesses. Dressed elegantly in stockings, they exuded a noble grace.

"Welcome!"

The two sat in the lobby lounge and signed the documents. Once they were finished, a voice echoed in Lin Feng's mind.

[Acquisition procedures successfully completed!]

[Xinghao International Hotel is officially under the Host's ownership.]

Just then, a middle-aged man in a suit approached. Upon seeing Lin Feng, he was visibly stunned, a look of astonishment flashing across his face.

The man who had handled the paperwork pointed at Lin Feng. "This is Mr. Lin, the new owner of Xinghao International Hotel. I'll leave you two to talk."

The middle-aged man quickly recovered and introduced himself. "Hello, Director Lin. My name is Wang Zhihua. I'm the general manager of Xinghao International Hotel. Please, just call me Xiao Wang."

Lin Feng nodded.

"If you have time, Director Lin, shall I call a meeting with the department heads?"

Lin Feng checked his watch; he had over an hour to spare.

"Alright."

He followed Wang Zhihua to the conference room. In less than five minutes, the department managers began to arrive one after another. To be honest, Lin Feng felt a bit overwhelmed taking over such a large hotel on such short notice. He was completely out of his depth. His studies hadn't been in hotel management, and he knew nothing about the field.

Xinghao International Hotel had ten departments in total: Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, and Security. All the managers reporting to him were the heads of these departments.

The main purpose of the meeting was for everyone to get to know each other and for Lin Feng to get an update on the hotel's current progress. Xinghao International was initially built to four-star standards, but a lack of funds had caused it to be downgraded to three-star, leaving it in a state of being neither here nor there. With sufficient funding, upgrading it back to four stars wouldn't actually be very costly.

He thought it would be a simple introduction, but they ended up giving full reports on their work. Xinghao International had only been sold because the previous owner was in urgent need of cash. Considering its location and facilities, it was one of the most cost-effective hotels in Yangcheng. On a popular travel app's reputation ranking, Xinghao International consistently placed in the top five.

The department managers' reports ended up taking over an hour.

Lin Feng glanced at the time. As soon as the final manager finished speaking, he stood up.

"That will be all for today's meeting. Carry on as usual."

After leaving the conference room, Lin Feng got Wang Zhihua's contact information and then drove off. He had to hurry home to cook. His wife had a class in the afternoon, and the babies were probably starving.

As Wang Zhihua saw Lin Feng off, several of the receptionists gathered around him.

"Manager Wang, that super handsome guy just now, was he our new boss?"

Wang Zhihua nodded.

"No way! He looks so young, like he's barely in his twenties."

"Where would someone that young get that kind of money?"

"Maybe from his parents?"

Wang Zhihua tapped the reception desk, his face expressionless. "Stop gossiping and get back to work. From now on, address him as Director Lin. And for the record, he's already married."

Hearing that last part, the two receptionists were incredibly disappointed.

"What a pity! Such a handsome and rich guy is already taken."

"I'm so jealous of his wife! She must have saved the galaxy in a past life to marry a man like that!"

Lin Feng drove home. As he was changing his shoes in the entryway, he heard a commotion in the living room and quickly called out, "Honey, I got held up. Sorry I'm so late! Are you all hungry? I'll go make some food right now."

Si Bao, who had been a fast runner since she was little, dashed over like a bolt of lightning.

"Daddy, Si Bao had cookies, but I'm still so, so hungry!"

Following behind, Er Bao let out a "WAAAH," her voice full of grievance. "Er Bao's tummy is empty! I want Fan Fan!"

Er Bao and Si Bao clung to his legs from the front. With no space left, Da Bao hugged his leg from behind. "Daddy, Da Bao's tummy is hungry."

San Bao stood a short distance away, looking just as aggrieved, her eyes red. It was almost one o'clock. Normally, the babies would have eaten their lunch by now. They had been hungry for over an hour, and Lin Feng's heart ached for them.

Zhang Yuxi looked at the babies, who were clamoring for food, and felt utterly powerless. She had already fed them all the little snacks Lin Feng had made. But Lin Feng never made many at a time, preferring for the babies to eat them fresh.

"Honey... I..."

Seeing Zhang Yuxi's guilt, Lin Feng only felt more remorseful. "You're hungry, right? I'll make lunch right away! Be good, babies, Daddy's going to make you something right now."

Lin Feng quickly steamed three eggs for the four babies to share. While the eggs were steaming, he also boiled the seafood wontons he had made earlier. For the two of them, spicy beef noodles would suffice.

In less than half an hour, both the babies' and the adults' meals were ready. To cool the wontons down faster, Lin Feng placed the bowl in cold water. By the time the babies finished their steamed eggs, the wontons were no longer hot. After serving the wontons, he returned to the kitchen to finish up their noodles.

The family sat at the dining table. With the exception of Lin Feng, they all looked as though they had been brought back to life.

Si Bao ate voraciously, blowing on each bite before gobbling it down. Er Bao, true to form, proved she had the biggest appetite of the two girls. Da Bao was the type to get things done quietly, eating one spoonful after another without a fuss. As for San Bao, she was so hungry this time that she was starting to get cranky.

"Daddy, feed me."

Making an exception for one child might have been fine, but with four of them, one exception would inevitably lead to demands for more. Luckily, Lin Feng already had a secret weapon for dealing with San Bao.

"San Bao, Daddy's very hungry too. Daddy needs to eat his Fan Fan." He put on a performance, acting like a father on the verge of starvation. "How about you eat by yourself first, and after Daddy's finished, he'll feed you, okay?"

San Bao pouted. Though she was very reluctant, she had no choice but to start eating on her own.

She couldn't let her daddy starve, could she? If he starved to death, she wouldn't have a daddy anymore. How pitiful!

By the time Lin Feng finished his meal, San Bao had finished hers as well.

Later, after the babies were asleep, Zhang Yuxi's self-reproach returned, and her mood plummeted. "Honey, I was going to order takeout, but I was worried it wouldn't be hygienic, so I didn't... I'm so useless. I can't even cook..."

Lin Feng wrapped his arms around her. "Not knowing how to cook doesn't make you useless. You still have me, don't you? Today was a special case; it won't happen again. It was my fault, too. I should have told you there were seafood wontons in the fridge."

Zhang Yuxi clung to Lin Feng, just like their aggrieved little San Bao.

Lin Feng chuckled. "Alright, don't overthink it. It was just one meal, not a big deal!" He changed the subject. "Do you want to know what your husband was doing out there?"

A muffled voice came from his neck. "What were you doing?"
