My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 367: The Metamorphosis of San Bao

It was only then that the parents who had come to compete learned there was a set of quadruplets in the three-year-old group!

Lin Feng took the number plates. One side displayed the number, while the back bore the name of the competing child. After he pinned the plates to his children's chests, he heard the teacher give instructions.

"Once you've attached the number plates, please get the children's equipment and balance bikes ready. After that, parents can take a seat in the waiting area," the teacher announced. "The competition will start in fifteen minutes, so please hurry."

Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi helped the children put on their helmets and knee pads. While they had a moment, Lin Feng offered some words of encouragement. He paid special attention to the Third Child. "Doing our best is all that matters. It's the participation that counts!"

The Third Child nodded obediently. "Daddy, I'll try my best!"

Lin Feng smiled. "Good! Daddy will be cheering for you!"

She nodded vigorously in response.

The Fourth Child, perhaps swept up in the electric atmosphere, had a look of longing in his eyes. Lin Feng squeezed his hand gently. "Just do your best, son!"

Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi then stepped back from the track area. The two-year-old group's race had already begun, and the three-year-old group was next. The racetrack was shaped like a paperclip, with seven children competing in each heat. To keep things fair, the quadruplets had been separated, with one in each heat. The Third Child was in the final one.

Meanwhile, a teacher came over to explain the rules to the parents, mainly for those whose children were competing for the first time.

"The race is won when a bike's front wheel crosses the finish line," the teacher explained. "The results are primarily recorded manually by the judges, with placement stickers and finish-line footage used as secondary evidence. If you have any objections to the results, you have three minutes after they are posted to file an appeal with the judges at the score tally booth. After a review by the judging panel, the result will be considered final, and no second appeals will be accepted. After three minutes have passed, we will no longer accept appeals. The same applies if the next round has started or the awards ceremony is underway. Parents, please take note!"

After the teacher finished her explanation, the race officially began!

The first group of seven little ones was poised at the starting line, waiting for the command. Zhang Yuxi was so excited she looked as if she were the one competing. Lin Feng appeared calm on the surface, but inwardly he was just as eager as his wife, full of anticipation for his children's performance. When the kids looked over, the couple waved and made encouraging gestures.

With the starting command, the gate sprang open, and the little ones burst forward.

How could a parent not recognize their own child, even from behind? They saw the First Child in third place, hot on the heels of the two riders in front.

It was not uncommon for children to fall on the track. One parent's heart ached as they watched their son take a tumble, but their face beamed with relief when the boy quickly got back up.

The First Child caught up to the second-place rider and, in the final sprint, overtook the leader to become the champion of the first heat. As that group left the track to rest, the second group took their place at the starting line.

Lin Feng gave the First Child a thumbs-up. "First Child, Daddy is so proud of you!"

"Mommy too! You were amazing, First Child!" Zhang Yuxi added.

The First Child grinned happily.

The second heat began at the starter's command. The Second Child was in this group, a little tomboy, and she was absolutely fierce. It wasn't clear if she was just that strong or if the rest of the group was weak, but she took the lead right from the start and, just like that, won first place!

The Second Child laughed heartily. "Oh my gosh! I came in first! Yay!" It seemed even she hadn't expected to win.

She ran over to her parents. "Daddy, Mommy, wasn't I great?"

"Fantastic!"

"You're incredible, Second Child! Truly awesome!"

Next up was the third heat, featuring the Fourth Child. The skill level in this heat was clearly higher; none of the racers fell. The Fourth Child was considered the most skilled among the quadruplets, but compared to these competitors, he was only holding a mid-pack position.

However, on the final lap, the Fourth Child suddenly made his move. He began snaking his way through the pack and, at the last second, snatched a narrow victory to take first place. The difference was only a second or two!

The Fourth Child didn't even realize he'd won until the referee announced it, leaving him completely stunned. He really hadn't expected it. Upon learning he'd won, he did a goofy victory dance on the spot.

"Wow! I'm first! Yay, this is awesome!" he cheered. "I'm super amazing, aren't I, Mom and Dad?" he asked, scampering over with a rosy, upturned face.

Lin Feng gave him a huge hug. "Fourth Child, you were super, super fantastic!"

Zhang Yuxi was beaming with pride. "Fourth Child, Mommy is in awe of you!"

The Fourth Child lifted his chin, his smile growing even wider. The couple was deeply moved by his courageous forward charge. In their eyes, the skill gap between him and the others in his group had seemed too large. The chance of winning had been slim, but their son had managed an incredible comeback. It was truly awesome!

Then it was time for the final heat. The Third Child was positioned at the very back of the starting line.

As the command was given, she had barely started before she was jostled by the other children and fell. She and her balance bike both went down. The Third Child lay there for a few seconds, obviously dazed, before climbing back up.

Seeing their little girl fall, the couple's hearts tightened. In those few seconds, the other racers had already shot far ahead. When the Third Child got back up, the First, Second, and Fourth Child immediately started cheering her on.

Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi's gazes were locked on their daughter. The Third Child pushed off, sprinting forward with all her might. As it happened, she was the one who had shown the most rapid improvement during their balance bike practice. From that moment, the fruits of her hard work and her natural advantages began to shine through.

Quickly, she caught up with the racers ahead of her. By the time she reached the halfway point, the Third Child was pumping her little legs, pushing forward with all her might. She turned into a little engine, powering her way forward.

She passed the rider in fourth place!

Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi felt their hearts in their throats.

When the Third Child pushed past the third-place rider, Zhang Yuxi gripped Lin Feng's hand tightly, her breath catching in her throat. The First and Fourth Child were shouting themselves hoarse.

"Come on! Come on!"

Zhang Yuxi also yelled, "Come on!"

"Come on!"

Lin Feng kept a calm facade, but his eyes never left his daughter. The Third Child was the most delicate of the four. When she fell, he thought for sure she would cry. Or even give up altogether—that was also a real possibility! She was usually obedient and well-behaved, but being doted on by everyone meant she also had a bit of a temper.

But this time, the Third Child didn't give up. She was fighting her way forward!

When she overtook the rider in second place, Zhang Yuxi covered her mouth, her eyes brimming with tears. She truly hadn't expected it. For her sweet, delicate Third Child to accomplish something like this... It was completely beyond her expectations!

The First, Second, and Fourth Child were all hoarse from screaming for their sister, each as excited as if they were the one racing.

As the finish line came into sight, the Third Child clinched first place
