My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 409: Is This what Talent Looks Like?

The music started.

A male and a female host walked onto the stage.

"Today is the fifth Children's Handicraft Competition held in Yangcheng. After a fierce competition between hundreds of pieces, let's see who the winner will be!"

"That's right! First, let's see who the twenty-three winners of the Excellence Awards are!"

"Xu Guanghan, from the first grade, class three of Yangcheng Elementary School..."

"Next up are our Outstanding Awards..."

As the announcers' words continued, Zhang Yuxi started to get nervous, unable to hide the excitement and pride on her face.

"Sweetheart, don't be nervous when you go up there. If you get nervous, just look at us!"

Tuantuan hummed in acknowledgment.

The first-place prize was definitely the highlight of the event.

"Now, the exciting moment has arrived! Who will win first place in this year's competition?"

"And that person is... our little friend, Lin Tuantuan! She's four years old and attends Yangcheng International Kindergarten."

"Let's welcome her to the stage with a warm round of applause!"

The couple took a deep breath, giving Tuantuan an encouraging smile.

Her three siblings cheered for her!

Tuantuan pursed her lips, walking up to the podium with a graceful and composed smile.

The female host exclaimed, "Wow, what a little princess! You look so beautiful today!"

With that, the host handed Tuantuan a microphone.

"Come on, little friend, can you introduce yourself?"

Tuantuan stood on the stage, looking at the sea of faces below, and spoke sweetly.

"Hello everyone. I'm Lin Tuantuan, and I'm four years old."

"I'm very happy to win first place today. Thank you to my mommy and daddy, and thank you to my brother and sisters for supporting me!"

"I also want to thank my teacher for helping me!"

Tuantuan's temperament was very much like Zhang Yuxi's—an elegant sort of grace. It was very gentle and dignified, giving her an air of composed cultivation.

She was beautiful, spoke clearly, and instantly charmed everyone present.

The host asked with a smile, "Are you nervous to be on this stage?"

Tuantuan shook her head. "Not nervous. It's okay!"

"Now, let's bring the little one's creation up here so everyone can see the first-place piece!"

Two staff members then came on stage, carrying a table. The object on the table was covered by a red cloth.

"Now, I'm going to lift the red cloth!"

"I believe everyone will be astonished!"

"I'm sure you'll find it hard to imagine that this was made by the hands of a four-year-old child!"

Beneath the red cloth was a woman's head made from soft, golden thread. The woman's face was lifelike and stunningly beautiful, and the hair was exquisitely crafted. A pair of pearl earrings were the only spots of white amidst the gold, serving as the perfect finishing touch.

It was indeed just as the host had said; it was hard to believe this was the work of a four-year-old girl.

Lin Feng could tell at a glance that the woman was Zhang Yuxi. Although it wasn't a perfect likeness, Tuantuan had captured the essence of her eyes and eyebrows. Upon closer inspection, it did resemble her quite a bit.

The host said with a smile, "Now, let's invite her teacher to the stage! Let's learn more about our first-place winner from her."

The teacher came onto the stage, microphone in hand, looking a bit nervous.

The host said with a smile, "Teacher, why don't you start with an introduction."

The teacher, beaming, said, "Hello everyone, I am Lin Tuantuan's teacher..."

When the host learned that Tuantuan had only attended a single semester of craft classes to produce such an outstanding piece, she feigned dramatic surprise. "Really?"

The teacher nodded. "Her craft projects are the best in our class. Her classmates and their parents can all attest to that."

"I've saved photos of her progress at every stage on my phone. Her improvement has been immense!"

At this, the host smiled and said, "Then let's have our staff project those photos onto the big screen, thank you!"

Taking advantage of the break, the host asked Tuantuan, "Little friend, can you tell us who this person is?"

"Mommy!"

"Wow, it's your mommy? Is she here today?"

"She came with Daddy, and my brother and sisters!"

The host didn't realize she was talking about her own quadruplet siblings. Thinking they were relatives, she followed Tuantuan's gaze and said with a smile, "I see them!"

"Oh, and they are your..."

Following the host's gaze, all eyes in the venue fell on the family. Gasps rippled through the crowd. "My gosh, quadruplets!"

And how could they all be so ridiculously good-looking?

Facing the stares of the crowd, the family of six below the stage remained remarkably calm.

The host smiled and said, "How wonderful to have so many siblings! May I ask, little friend, where are you in the birth order?"

"I'm the second child!"

"So you're the second-born! How lovely!"

Just then, a staff member came on stage and plugged in a USB drive.

"Now, let's take a look at the progress Lin Tuantuan has made in her crafts class over the semester."

The teacher began, pointing to the first image. "This was from her first class, where we made a pink chrysanthemum. This photo is of the piece before it was fired, so it's not the final product."

The host commented with a smile, "Wow, that's very well-made! It already bears some resemblance to the sample photo."

The teacher then brought up another image. "And these were made by the other children!"

"Wow! The difference is so obvious in comparison. Could this be talent?"

"She does indeed have a talent, and she's the youngest in our group. This is from the fifth lesson..."

The comparison photos clearly showed that the little girl's crafting skills were improving by leaps and bounds and that she added her own creative ideas to each project.

Next was a video of Tuantuan making her competition entry. The little girl used the tools skillfully, with a seriousness and composure on her face that belied her age.

The host asked, "Is she making the hair here?"

The teacher nodded. "In total, we prepared five to six hundred strands of thread for the filigree, and she attached every single one herself."

"When we were filming the video, she had already completed half of it. I told her to rest, but she said no!"

"She has perseverance and seriousness beyond that of her peers—something I haven't seen in other children."

"We were late in entering the competition, so she worked overtime to finish this piece."

"She has her own ideas, like these pearl earrings that weren't there before. She added them later. And they are real pearls!"

The host praised Tuantuan, "Wow, you are truly amazing! Are you happy you won first place?"

Tuantuan smiled sweetly. "Happy!"

"Have you ever thought about what you want to do when you grow up?"

Tuantuan said earnestly, "I want to be a jewelry designer!"

While other children her age dreamed of becoming scientists, teachers, or engineers, it was somewhat unexpected to hear a little girl say she wanted to be a jewelry designer. Even Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi were surprised. Tuantuan had never mentioned this to them before.

The host asked with a warm smile, "Why a jewelry designer?"

"Because I like pretty, shiny things! Don't you like them, aunty?"

"Haha, this aunty likes them too!"

After the award ceremony, as the first-place winner, she was photographed by media journalists. The audience was told that the competition would be broadcast on the Yangcheng Life Channel at eight o'clock tomorrow evening, and they were reminded not to miss it.
