My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 484: None Should be Underestimated

After the competition, a proper celebration was in order. The children and their parents gathered for a lively party. Even without winning a specific rank or medal, the competition was a valuable experience for the children, an opportunity to learn and grow. The results were secondary; what truly mattered was what they had gained from the event.

After the celebratory dinner, families with the means took their children out to explore. For Lin Feng's family, this trip had special significance. Since they were already here, they were determined to have some fun and celebrate the Fourth Treasure's victory.

Lin Feng planned a tourist route that started with Brazil's most famous waterfall. It is the widest in the world—a horseshoe-shaped cataract, 82 meters high, 4 kilometers wide, with an average drop of 75 meters. By taking an elevator from the side of a walkway, they could get a panoramic aerial view of the entire great falls. Lin Feng rented a large SUV, similar to a recreational vehicle, for the trip.

After arriving and having their tickets checked, he led the children along the sightseeing path. From there, they could behold the magnificent waterfall, thundering down in an awe-inspiring display. It would have been even better to visit in the summer. Winter was a bit cold, but it did nothing to dampen their excitement. This was the first time the children had ever seen such a massive waterfall. As one of the world's three greatest waterfalls, it is the widest, while Victoria Falls has the greatest height and Niagara Falls has the greatest volume.

Rounding a corner amidst the RUMBLING sound of the water, they found a viewing platform at the end of the observation deck, perfect for taking photos one after another. Worried about his phone getting wet, Lin Feng had specifically bought a waterproof case. The family then asked a friendly passerby to take a group photo for them. They couldn't take too long, as a line of people was waiting behind them.

Continuing on, they reached a wooden walkway that allowed people to get up close and personal with the falls. However, since they hadn't come fully prepared with waterproof gear, they couldn't get too close. The spray was incredibly intense and would drench anyone who ventured near. Some people had brought disposable raincoats, but they proved to be of little use against the deluge.

At the end of the path were several restaurants, including buffet options. Most people chose the buffet, where they could eat their fill while enjoying a spectacular view of the waterfall outside. After their meal, they explored the scenic area, where they saw raccoons. As part of a major tourist attraction, the animals were accustomed to being fed by people. They were adorable, though some had a bit of a temper.

As it was time to leave, they were reluctant, feeling they hadn't had enough. Lin Feng discovered they could take a helicopter ride, and all the kids were eager to try. Even the Second and Third Treasures wanted to give it a go. Witnessing the full panorama from above the river was another breathtakingly profound experience. The family was still buzzing about it long after they returned.

In the afternoon, Lin Feng took the children to see the Metropolitan Cathedral, nicknamed the "Sky Ladder." It was a very popular spot for photos. The cathedral stands 80 meters tall with a base diameter of 106 meters and can accommodate around 20,000 people. The family had done their homework before coming. The ceiling was a massive, cross-shaped skylight made of stained glass, which created a dazzling spectacle as sunlight streamed through it. Their timing was excellent. On Saturdays and Sundays, it closed at noon, but on other days, it closed at four in the afternoon, which could make for a rushed visit. They arrived at nearly three o'clock, just as the sun was casting its rays through the colored glass, creating an effect that was both beautiful and majestic.

After the cathedral closed, they strolled through the streets of the foreign city, admiring the unique scenery. They ambled along, stopping here and there to sample local delicacies. Their plan was to enjoy themselves for a few more days before heading straight to the Third Treasure's performance.

That evening, Teacher Qiao called to inform them about an interview that they couldn't turn down. So, after dinner, the family returned to their hotel. The interviewer was a smiling, middle-aged woman. She gestured for the Fourth Treasure not to be nervous, assuring him the interview would be over soon. The Fourth Treasure replied that he wasn't nervous at all; he was naturally outgoing. As his coach, Qiao was also part of the interview.

The questions were all quite formal. The host even coached the Fourth Treasure on how to answer, rephrasing his words to sound more official. They had to rehearse on the spot, as the interview was going to be filmed in a single take. Standing beside Qiao, the Fourth Treasure faced the camera with composure.

During the interview, Qiao credited all the achievements to the Fourth Treasure's own hard work, stating that he had merely uncovered his potential. "He has so many more possibilities within him waiting to be discovered!" Teacher Qiao was completely serious when he said this. A gem like the Fourth Treasure was bound to shine wherever he went, and his family was certainly not short on resources. It was only a matter of time before he was discovered. He just felt lucky to have found this treasure of a boy before anyone else.

After the five-minute interview ended and the camera was turned off, the host's serious demeanor shifted to one of warm enthusiasm.

"Do you know? You're a sensation! The whole country is talking about you, the little superman!" she gushed.

The Fourth Treasure thought for a moment. "I had no idea. We were out all day having fun."

The host couldn't hide her admiration for him, as she also had a child around his age. "What did you all do?"

"We saw the waterfall and the Sky Ladder. Lots of fun stuff."

"How are your grades usually?"

"Top five in my grade, I suppose."

"That's amazing!"

The Fourth Treasure tilted his head. "Is it? I don't think so. My older sister and brothers are all in the top four of their grade at top-ranked middle schools."

This reminded the host that his family was present. She felt a pang of regret that her assignment hadn't included interviewing the other family members. "Wow, so these must be the other children…"

The Third Treasure was already a renowned young musician in the country; everyone knew his name. The Second Treasure was a minor internet celebrity, though she kept a low profile. However, resourceful netizens had unearthed a photo of her winning a major crafts award and, following the trail, discovered she was also ranked in the top four of her grade at a top-ranked middle school.

So, in this family of four children, three were already famous. And then there was the First Treasure. He had won a taekwondo medal, a force to be reckoned with. Though he wasn't as well-known, with a little digging, people found out he was ranked first in his entire grade.

The children in this family were all truly extraordinary.

The reporter asked Lin Feng for parenting advice, hoping to learn his secrets. But she soon realized it was all just natural talent. They were basically free-range kids… Impossible to compare! Just impossible!
