My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 495: The Doting on the Four Treasures

That evening, Zhang Yuxi felt pretty awesome because she had survived another day of tutoring.

However, while breastfeeding Xiao Bao, Zhang Yuxi made a surprising discovery. There used to be plenty of milk for the baby, but today there was very little.

Zhang Yuxi's eyes widened. Could it be that tutoring had made me so agitated that my milk dried up?

She quickly calmed herself down and stopped breastfeeding, afraid it might affect Xiao Bao.

"Honey?"

"What's wrong?" Lin Feng could tell from Zhang Yuxi's tone that something was off. "What happened?"

"Let's give Xiao Bao formula tonight."

"Why?"

After hearing Zhang Yuxi's explanation, Lin Feng realized the problem was quite serious. It's easy for women to get sick when they're angry.

"Then you shouldn't tutor Tuan Tuan's homework anymore. We can enroll him in a tutoring class, or I can do it instead."

This time, Zhang Yuxi didn't object. She nodded and said, "I've made my peace with it. I'm not tutoring him anymore. That's final." Her tone had an air of world-weary resignation.

That evening, Xiao Bao had formula but didn't drink much, probably because she wasn't used to it. Zhang Yuxi put on a few comedies to relax and lighten her mood.

The next evening, Tuan Tuan was surprised to find Lin Feng tutoring him. "Dad, where's Mom?"

"Mom has decided to stop tutoring. She still has Xiao Bao to take care of, after all, so I'll be taking over from now on."

Tuan Tuan let out a sigh of relief. "That's good."

In this house, they had always fit the image of a kind father and a strict mother. Because Lin Feng was always gentle and patient when taking care of the children, they all adored him.

Tuan Tuan confessed, "Dad, you have no idea. Mom can be so fierce."

"Really? Then you must have made her angry."

"No way, I didn't do anything!"

"Then why did you get your mom so upset that her milk dried up? She couldn't even breastfeed Xiao Bao today."

Tuan Tuan was stunned. How could tutoring homework have such serious consequences? That can't be right!

Lin Feng sighed. "Come on, let's start with your homework."

In truth, things weren't as bad as Zhang Yuxi imagined. From Lin Feng's perspective, everything was actually quite normal. If he hadn't reviewed the material in advance, he would have forgotten all those formulas long ago. Tuan Tuan was a student-athlete, so he didn't have much energy left for his studies.

While tutoring him, Lin Feng explained to Tuan Tuan that academics were also very important for student-athletes, hoping his son would take his studies more seriously. He gave examples, like Da Bao's Taekwondo, San Bao's music, and Er Bao's crafts.

"They haven't given up on their studies. Dad hopes that while you're achieving your goals in sports, you won't fall behind in other areas either."

That evening, the father and son had a heart-to-heart talk. Lin Feng learned that Tuan Tuan was pouring all his energy into sports because he wanted to be number one. He wanted to join the national team and participate in the future Olympic Games.

"But if your other grades aren't good enough, you won't make it in," Lin Feng said. "After all, they evaluate every aspect of a person. You can't get in by excelling in just one area while neglecting the others."

Having competed in countless events, big and small, over the years, Tuan Tuan's personality had inevitably become a bit restless.

"Look at your sister, San Bao," Lin Feng continued. "You could say she's already incredibly talented in music, but she has always remained humble and dedicated to her craft. I hope you can do the same."

That night, the father and son communicated well, like a pair of brothers.

When he returned to their room, Zhang Yuxi came over. "How did it go? You two didn't argue, did you?"

Lin Feng was puzzled. "Argue? Why would we argue? We get along great."

Zhang Yuxi was taken aback. "Why?"

The explanation Lin Feng gave was, "Maybe it's because we're both men."

"..."

At night, because Xiao Bao had switched to formula, it meant getting up to prepare her bottles. Feeding her, burping her… it was a whole process. With his prior experience raising children, Lin Feng chose not to pick Xiao Bao up or comfort her whenever she fussed and whimpered. You can tell whether a baby's cry is from discomfort or from a tantrum. If you rush to pick up a child the moment they cry, they'll develop a habit of crying nonstop until they're held.

Because of this, Xiao Bao was very well-behaved at night, allowing the adults to get a good night's sleep.

Ever since Lin Feng started tutoring him, Tuan Tuan's grades had shown significant improvement. Zhang Yuxi would occasionally peek in and was quite satisfied. However, a small part of her still felt unhappy. She felt like a failure. A teacher who couldn't even teach her own child!

But she quickly pushed the thought away. After all, she couldn't afford to get lost in her thoughts or get angry. Otherwise, Xiao Bao would have to drink formula again, and she didn't want that.

One day, the quadruplets came home to find Lin Feng missing from the living room and the kitchen. It turned out he was with the maternity nurse, giving Xiao Bao a bath.

The four older siblings crowded around, all marveling at the infant in the bathtub. An infant about to turn one month old was just incredibly adorable. Moreover, Xiao Bao was usually asleep, so it was a rare treat to see her awake.

San Bao's gaze was full of tenderness. "Oh my gosh, Xiao Bao is so cute!"

It wasn't just her; everyone thought so.

Zhang Yuxi watched from the side. "You were all very cute when you were little. But Da Bao was the most afraid of baths. He would start wailing every time."

Da Bao had a faint memory of this, as Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi had mentioned it before.

Tuan Tuan asked, "What about me, Mom?"

Zhang Yuxi smiled. "You loved baths. You were always so happy, splashing around more than anyone."

Zhang Yuxi shared many funny stories about their bath times. The most amusing tales involved Da Bao, who was notorious for crying loudly, even when getting a haircut. Eventually, Lin Feng had no choice but to buy a set of clippers and do it himself. Da Bao actually remembered some of these things.

Xiao Bao was very well-behaved during her bath. She seemed to love the water and looked very alert afterward. Lin Feng wrapped her in a bath towel and carried her out, followed by a large entourage.

"Wow, Xiao Bao is so tiny."

"I'm so worried I might accidentally hurt her..."

The quadruplets chattered among themselves. They had been wanting to hold Xiao Bao for ages, but every time they saw the tiny baby, they were too scared to try, fearing they would be too rough and hurt her.

After her bath, Xiao Bao was awake and lively for a while, and her yawn was absolutely heart-melting. The quadruplets huddled together, watching her with fondness.

Da Bao said hopefully, "Xiao Bao, grow up quickly. When you're bigger, I'll take you out for delicious food. Whatever you want to do, I'll take you to do it."

San Bao quickly added, "And I'll play the violin for you. If you want to learn, I can teach you, okay?"

Er Bao said gently, "Xiao Bao, I'll make you beautiful jewelry. Whatever you like, I'll make it for you, alright? I can also buy it for you; I have money!"

Tuan Tuan chimed in, "I have money too! And I'm the strongest. If you don't feel like walking someday, I'll carry you, okay?"

Tuan Tuan had won a substantial amount of prize money from his competitions over the years. San Bao also received considerable performance fees from the many events she was invited to. As for Er Bao, she was arguably the wealthiest of the three. She had signed a contract with a luxury brand as a young designer, and her creations were loved by many children. Many adults also found her work highly creative and bought pieces for their collections.

Er Bao simply loved what she did; fame hadn't affected her. Both she and San Bao possessed the dedication of true artists and a certain detachment from worldly matters. Having been raised in wealth and working as a jewelry designer, what fine things hadn't Er Bao seen? She had no real concept of money. As long as she had enough to support her passion, she was happy.

When it came to Da Bao, it seemed that besides being the class monitor, he didn't have much else going on.

Not wanting to be left behind, Da Bao quickly added, "Me too, Xiao Bao! Whatever you want, I'll buy it for you. You can do anything you want."

Da Bao hadn't yet reached the stage of earning his own money. However, he had once created a small gadget, and Lin Feng had helped him file for a patent. That patent caught the eye of a company, which paid 500,000 to acquire it. Their total cost to make it had been less than five hundred.

This seemed to open up a new path to wealth for him, and he began tinkering with various things in his spare time. At first, his motivation was practical: he was in it for the money. After all, his younger siblings were already earning money and starting their own careers, while he had nothing. Gradually, however, Da Bao found genuine joy in creating, and the thought of making money slowly faded to the back of his mind.
