My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 542: Parents' Dog Food!

This summer, Si Bao had spent the entire summer in training. As a result, he was a shade darker but just as handsome as ever.

Upon seeing Da Bao, Si Bao immediately went up to him and gave him a big hug.

"Big brother, you're truly amazing!"

Since they had no class the next day, the four brothers bought a lot of groceries at the supermarket, including some red wine to celebrate. The group returned home laden with bags big and small.

Lin Feng had already steamed the Mi Fan, and a stew was simmering gently on the stove.

"What do you all want for dinner tonight?"

Si Bao instantly rattled off a list of dishes. Da Bao didn't have any particular favorites; anything was fine with him.

Lin Feng looked over his son, who was now almost as tall as he was. "You rascal, you didn't even say a word to us."

Zhang Yuxi came over holding Xiao Bao. "Exactly!"

Da Bao said with a smile, "I didn't expect it to pass the review, so I wasn't holding out much hope."

He usually didn't talk about such uncertain things, to avoid getting his hopes up for nothing.

After a flurry of activity, they prepared a delicious feast and raised their glasses of red wine to celebrate.

Xiao Bao, excited to join the meal, was particularly interested in the wine. Zhang Yuxi let her taste a little with her chopsticks, causing Xiao Bao's face to scrunch up. She stuck out her tongue, unable to handle the flavor. A moment later, however, she wanted to try it again.

Lin Feng filled a baby bottle with freshly squeezed juice for her. Xiao Bao sat in her high chair, drinking with great seriousness.

At seven in the evening, the news broadcast featured Da Bao's interview, in which he answered questions with poise and confidence. They also interviewed Da Bao's homeroom teacher.

The interview segment was brief, but in just a few words, the teacher described Da Bao as a perfect student and class leader.

With coverage on CCTV and discussions lighting up Weibo, Da Bao's story quickly went viral. Soon, everyone knew of this promising young man who might one day become a pillar of the nation.

People quickly dug up Da Bao's family connections and left messages on Er Bao's Weibo page. The comment section was flooded with congratulations and thanks to Da Bao for bringing honor to the country.

It was no exaggeration to say that Da Bao was the first student in the country to publish a paper in *Science and Scholarship*. He was also the first person under the age of eighteen to do so.

Er Bao posted a reply to everyone on Weibo.

"First, I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support for my big brother. He's seen your comments and will continue to work hard and improve.

"Secondly, to all the young ladies who want to be my sister-in-law: don't even think about it for now. There might be a sliver of hope in a few years, but what can I say? My big brother is only interested in studying and has zero interest in dating.

"Lastly, I hope you all study hard and strive for progress every day!"

This event didn't change anything in the household; they all went on with their usual activities.

"Big brother, it's your turn to do the dishes today, don't forget!"

See? No matter how famous you are outside, things at home stay the same. Da Bao washed the dishes, Si Bao scooped the cat litter, Er Bao cleaned the living room, and San Bao fed Xiao Bao her baby food.

Zhang Yuxi and Lin Feng were planting vegetables in the yard, chatting.

"Honey, when the kids are all grown up..." Zhang Yuxi began, "how about we either go farming or travel the world?"

"Why wait until they're grown up? We can travel the world now! Xiao Bao is still little, after all."

Zhang Yuxi fell silent. She had just been promoted to vice principal... If she were willing to give up her position, she could set off to travel the world with Lin Feng immediately. But she had fallen in love with her career and couldn't bear to leave it, which meant their world tour would have to wait until retirement.

Seeing Lin Feng's teasing expression, Zhang Yuxi gave him a light slap. "Then you can go by yourself. I don't have the time."

Lin Feng caught her hand, his gaze tender. "If you're not going, what's the point of me going alone?"

Zhang Yuxi huffed. "Such a smooth-talker for a man your age."

"Smooth-talker?" Lin Feng exclaimed in mock surprise. "And how am I old? I'm still young!"

Zhang Yuxi smiled without saying a word.

Lin Feng pressed on. "No, you have to explain yourself."

Zhang Yuxi pushed him away with a laugh. "Stop fooling around and get back to work."

"I'm not in the mood!"

"Oh, alright, alright, I was just joking..."

Er Bao, who had been about to ask a question, quietly backed away. He refused to stick around for this public display of affection from his parents.

After finishing their chores, everyone busied themselves with their own affairs.

San Bao had a performance next Wednesday, so he went upstairs to practice.

Er Bao, inspired by the ancient headdress he had found, planned to create his own signature piece. Wait, does that imply his previous works were just designed casually?

Si Bao was heading abroad for a competition on Saturday and was currently practicing in the pool.

Da Bao went to the lab, with no telling how late he would be working.

Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi were playing with Xiao Bao.

Xiao Bao, now over eight months old, had been eager to graduate from crawling to walking for some time. Several times, she had trembled as she stood up, holding onto something and trying to walk on her own. At those moments, she would always be picked up by one of her older brothers and playfully distracted.

When they went out, she was passed around and adored by everyone. When they came back, she was either sitting on the robot vacuum or being held and adored. Whenever she got a free moment, she was determined to take a few steps.

The couple stood two meters apart, coaxing Xiao Bao to learn to walk. One might not think Xiao Bao was only eight months old; she was so big that people would believe she was nearly one.

This puzzled Lin Feng. The older boys had consumed the nutrient solution, which was why they grew taller and stronger than their peers. But Xiao Bao hadn't. Aside from weighing over seven pounds at birth, Lin Feng thought she was no different from an ordinary baby. Later, however, when compared to other children her age, it was clear that Xiao Bao was growing very fast.

Could it be related to my own Purification and Marrow Cleansing?

"Honey, the way Xiao Bao walks is hilarious..." Zhang Yuxi said, trying to hold back her laughter.

Lin Feng massaged his forehead. "I have no idea why she walks like that."

Xiao Bao walked just like a character from one of those clunky 3D animations you see online—the kind that looks like it took someone three years to make. She took these high-kneed steps and swung her arms, all with a bizarre style, just like those videos with their surreal music and voice-overs...

I used to wonder how anyone could possibly walk like that, Lin Feng thought. But here's the living proof!

Zhang Yuxi picked up Xiao Bao. "Alright, no more playing! Time to wash our little face and feet and go to sleep!"

As children get older, their sleep schedules start to resemble an adult's; they no longer sleep all day long. In Lin Feng's memory, San Bao was the one who could never seem to wake up, always getting up the latest. Si Bao slept the least and rose the earliest. The other two were very well-behaved and went to sleep obediently.

With the exception of Si Bao, Lin Feng rarely had to worry about his children's sleeping habits.

But Xiao Bao was different. She could turn bedtime into a whole production.

For example, she would crawl and roll all over the adults. When she grew tired of that, she would find something else to play with before entertaining herself. No matter how Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi coaxed her, Xiao Bao remained wide awake, showing no sign of sleepiness.

This behavior had only started after she was weaned, making Lin Feng wonder if it was some lingering side effect. But this side effect was lasting far too long.
