Lin Feng nodded, acknowledging that the other party was right. The harsh wasteland desert simply couldn't sustain a large group of Evolutionary Desolate Beasts.
During the Old Earth Era, it was the great cataclysm combined with the ocean's abundant biomass resources that catalyzed the emergence of tens of thousands of all-engulfing Mutated Beast Tides.
Nowadays, the wasteland desert, especially near the tail end of the Safe Zone close to the Scorching Sun Forbidden Area, can aptly be described as a barren wasteland, lacking even reliable water sources, where life struggles to emerge.
Only extreme evolutionary species like the Rock-Horned Horse could migrate through such desolation, sweeping clean the leftover scraps along the way.
The scarcity of life also results in a short and thin food chain, with some species even forming single survival relationships.
Take the poisonous insects and weeds near the Wild Rift, for example.
This leads to another consequence: the singular and fragile food chain cannot sustain too many Hunters.
Carnivores require energy consumption that is dozens of times more than the base level to survive.
Because the energy transfer efficiency from bottom to top is only about 10%, even if herbivores evolve to increase this ratio to a staggering 50%, it can still only support a limited number of predators.
Among carnivores, the most numerous are the Desert Wolf Pack that Lin Feng had encountered before.
Not only are they large in number, but they also gather in the Fallen Wolf Valley, depending on the genetic radiation of the Wolf King's Tomb to undergo life metamorphosis and continue their race's legacy.
As a result, the primitive tribal culture formed by the Wolf Race is more advanced, cohesive, and powerful than other bloodthirsty Evolutionary Desolate Beasts.
They can be rallied en masse under the call of a Clan Leader-level Desert Wolf.
Other highly evolved carnivorous Desolate Beasts either lack enough population or have competitive relationships among themselves, making it difficult to form habitual groups, and even a few powerful Tier Two individuals can't establish a trend.
So, by now, the so-called Village-level, Town-breaking Level, City-level, or even Country-level beast tide disasters have long ceased to exist.
The only recorded instances might have been thousands of years ago when underground shelters were first opened, and there were still large numbers of residual Beast Races from the Old Era capable of forming beast tide disasters.
However, even in that barbaric age, humans needed to attack and plunder each other to survive, let alone the newly awakened Evolutionary Beasts.
Only by enduring the initial shock of massive environmental changes and adapting to the wasteland's harsh conditions could a species survive.
During this period, Earth's life went from the great cataclysm and species explosion at the end of the Old Era into great extinction evolutionary processes.
In just several hundred years of the early stage, countless species unable to adapt to the new environment went extinct.
And the surviving populations, compared to humans, who have already rebuilt civilization in the wasteland, are insignificant.
Lin Feng, pondering this thought, added:
"When I previously traveled to the Taishan Ruins Forbidden Area to search for Desert Wolf Source Material for the Church, I encountered a place named Fallen Wolf Valley. It's within the main bastion of three large shelters, at the bottom of the ruins, where the Tier Three Wolf King fell and was buried. Nearby, there's a large number of Desert Wolves congregating, relying on the radiation energy inside the ruins to undergo evolutionary metamorphosis…"
"For thousands of years, the Wolf Pack has regarded Fallen Wolf Valley as a place of heritage, evolving a primitive civilization."
"At the time, I merely observed from a distance and saw thousands of Desert Wolves, all in evolutionary stages, each over five meters tall…"
"If the wasteland harbors similar places, then the emergence of beast tide disasters is not impossible."
"After all, during the great cataclysm period, five great King Beasts emerged on land, and the Wolf King was just one of them."
"On our current East Asian Continent, wasn't there once the Pig King and the Tiger King, two Tier Three King Beasts as well?"
After hearing Lin Feng's analysis, the Great Assistant Priest was slightly taken aback, clearly not expecting him to know so much.
However, upon considering Lin Feng's background of coming from the Old Earth Era and having slept for thousands of years, recovering past memories after becoming an Evolver, it was not surprising for him to know so many hidden details.
This is also why, after the civilization of the wasteland world experienced a break, such peculiar phenomena occurred.
People from different times appearing in the same era, with entirely different levels of understanding about the world, created significant divides among different forces.
Especially evident in large Settlements.
Those like Lin Feng from the Old Era are actually quite rare among Evolvers.
Like the mutated beasts that were largely eliminated, recently awakened survivors from the Old Era who couldn't adapt to the drastic environmental changes and were weak in strength were also victims of the biological mass extinction.
Of those who could struggle out from among the Deserters, gather enough savings to buy a shoddy electric car, and become permanent villagers below the Oasis, perhaps fewer than one in ten made it.
Among them, 20% to 30% would die in the first month, and 50% wouldn't survive the first year. Afterward, even if they adapted, they would constantly struggle on the brink of life and death.
Only a very few, less than 1% lucky individuals, could become Evolvers, completely changing their destinies and establishing a foothold in this post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Thus, people like Lin Feng, who defy fate, although extraordinarily competitive, must seize opportunities that originally belonged to others during their rise and rapid progress.
Especially after Lin Feng stepped into Tier Two, advancing further required competing for the few available slots or directly through means of plunder to accumulate Evolutionary Resources.
