Chapter 151: Blood Concealment Association Madman (3)

The Falcon Earl's instincts saved his life once again.

The shadowy figure dissipated in an instant, but the blood on the ground proved something indeed rushed towards him just now.

"What the hell is this?"

The Falcon Earl frowned deeply, his grip on the sword tightening unconsciously, knuckles turning white.

He had never encountered such an enemy.

Before he could react, the shadow on his left side gathered again and lunged at him!

This time he was prepared, swinging his longsword continuously, slicing the shadow into pieces, but each slash seemed futile.

The shadowy figure would reassemble and continue to attack him.

"Damn it!"

In a blink, the Falcon Earl was forced into a corner, beads of sweat forming on his forehead, yet he remained composed.

As the shadowy figure pounced at him again, the Falcon Earl suddenly tore his sleeve, letting a pale blue crystal fall into his palm, which he crushed fiercely!

Boom!

The crystal shattered into powder, and a ghostly blue light exploded!

In an instant, a cold aura surged in front of him, and the shadow rushing at him froze instantly, transforming into an ice sculpture!

"Luo De killed your people, yet you retaliate against your employer?"

The Falcon Earl glared with anger, slashing horizontally with his longsword, cleaving the frozen shadow in half, revealing its frozen internal organs.

"You're useless, just useless, you stupid fools!"

Ah!

The Falcon Earl felt he was about to lose his mind, wanting desperately to roar, but held back due to noble dignity.

But using something as precious as the Breath of Frost on such idiots!

Heartbreaking!

"Where has everyone gone!"

The Falcon Earl roared twice, and when no one responded, he realized that perhaps the guards outside had also met with mishap.

He quickly strode to the door and shouted towards the outside,

"Someone come!"

At this moment, a rush of footsteps came from below, as if someone was hurriedly approaching.

The Falcon Earl sighed in relief, glanced at the corpse on the ground, and his figure suddenly halted.

The corpse had already turned into a pile of black ashes.

The Falcon Earl frowned, "What on earth are these heretics?"

The Falcon Earl took a breath, kicked away the maid on the bed, and sat down heavily, panting.

"These heretics are foolish, but with their strength, how did Luo De counter-kill them?"

Just as the Falcon Earl was contemplating, a mass of black fog appeared, and a shadowy figure in a black robe gradually formed behind him, pouncing viciously at the Falcon Earl!

At this moment, a guard just entered, exclaiming,

"Lord Earl, be careful!"

Before the words fell, the Falcon Earl had no time to react as a black blade pierced straight through his chest!

The Falcon Earl's eyes widened in disbelief, staring at the blade in his chest!

"You, you, you madmen..."

The Falcon Earl's eyes filled with shock and unwillingness, trying to speak, but only blood gushed from his mouth.

His body gradually lost strength, collapsing onto the bed, blood from the wound soaking the sheets.

"You shouldn't have insulted our faith."

A hoarse voice echoed, and after doing all this, the black-robed figure began to falter, collapsing onto the bed as well, spitting out a mouthful of black blood.

"Lord Earl!"

The guards, stunned on the spot, suddenly reacted, swinging their longswords straight down!

The black-robed figure dared not face the incoming longsword, rolling aside awkwardly, then turning into black fog and attacking the foremost guard, attempting to possess again.

The guard struggled violently, body twisting into an unrecognizable shape, letting out painful wails.

This time, perhaps due to injuries, the shadow was violently ejected after some struggle, landing messily on the ground.

The shadow snarled in anger, shooting up rapidly and rushing down the corridor, breaking through the window boards, leaping straight down!

The possessed soldier, too weak to pursue, knelt on the ground, shouting hoarsely, "There's an assassin! Chase quickly! Save Lord Earl!"

More soldiers rushed into the room, some checking on the Falcon Earl, but it was evidently too late.

The Earl's eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, the sharpness of life already absent from those once keen eyes.

...

...

"Assassin!"

"Catch the assassin!"

Outside the main building, Vivian, still hiding in the shadows, was startled.

Hmm?

Have I been discovered?

Vivian felt a moment of panic but quickly realized the so-called assassin was the guard that just went in.

Though she didn't witness the final assassination scene, from the soldiers' reactions and shouts, she roughly guessed what happened.

Not sure if that person succeeded.

Vivian pondered in confusion.

But no matter what, the castle was already in chaos, with guards running everywhere, searching for suspicious people.

Staying here would only increase the risk, so she decided to retreat for now.

She quickly returned to a secluded corner, took out her claw hook again, securely hooked the wall's edge, slid down along the wall, and soon vanished into the night.

Slipping back through the window to the inn, she quietly stayed in her room.

In the early morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the window boards, and Vivian stretched and got out of bed.

She went downstairs for some casual food, ordered a bowl of oatmeal and a piece of black bread, and sat in the corner enjoying it leisurely.

Meanwhile, eavesdropping for any news.

Soon, a group of soldiers in chain armor entered the tavern, asking the tavern owner, "Have you seen any strangers yesterday?"

"Sir, our place is remote, rarely do strangers come."

The tavern owner pointed to Vivian in the corner, "Just that lady looking for relatives, having breakfast there."

The soldiers glanced over at Vivian.

Vivian maintained a calm expression, slowly chewing her food, as if it had nothing to do with her.

The soldiers just gave a cursory glance, not even walking up to ask Vivian, then turned back,

"We're looking for a man, a very vicious man!"

The soldier described, "About the same height as me, very ugly, wearing a black robe."

The soldier stood about 1.8 meters tall, while Vivian's height was far from that.

"No one else, sir, no one else has come here."

The tavern owner shook his head, "Everyone here is a regular."

The soldier frowned, not trusting the owner's words, personally searching upstairs.

After confirming no one was present, he came back down, warning the tavern owner,

"Report immediately if you see the man, understand?"

"Yes sir, I will report!"

The tavern owner promised with a smile, then asked quietly, "What did he do?"

The soldier looked around, ensuring no outsiders were present, then motioned to his companion to sit down,

"I'm exhausted from searching all night."

The soldier urged the tavern owner, "Get us a couple of drinks."

The tavern owner nodded repeatedly, quickly taking out two glasses and filling them with alcohol for the soldiers.

The soldier gulped down the drink, sighed deeply, then spoke in a low voice, "Last night, the Falcon Earl was assassinated... he's dead."

"What?!"

The tavern owner's eyes widened in shock, exclaiming, "The Earl is dead?!"

"Shut up!"

The soldier gasped, "Drinking your cup will get us killed?"

"Sorry, sorry!" The tavern owner immediately smacked his own mouth.

"Another drink!"

The soldier said crossly, "The whole castle is in chaos now, Knight Balrog ordered us to catch the killer overnight."

"Bah!"

The soldier spat, "Even Lord Earl couldn't fight off the assassin, where can we find him?"

The soldier grumbled a couple of sentences, then finished off his glass of wine.

"Don't go spreading this around, understand?"

The soldier warned, and the tavern owner nodded repeatedly.

Before leaving, the soldier glanced at Vivian as a warning, then finally left.

After they left, Vivian sat up straight and wiped her mouth.

"What a pity."
