Farming with Entries: From Lord to Emperor

Chapter 176: Not Cold-Resistant but Fond of the Cold

...

...

Tucson's words left everyone puzzled, exchanging confused looks.

Chris furrowed his brows tightly,

"It seems I misunderstood before."

Previously, Chris thought that what the Snow Rabbit People did was the same, because he had found that the Lizardmen were forcing human slaves to open up wasteland.

Now it seemed that things were far more complex than he imagined.

Kael, the Earth Ear Race guide, stood by with an expression of bewilderment,

"Why are they burying those corpses?"

Kael questioned Tucson, "Are all those corpses Lizardmen?"

"No."

Tucson replied at once,

"Various corpses, including human ones, some goat-headed and bull-headed creatures... Alien races, as well as animals, everything is included."

"They've noticed me, I must fly away now!"

Tucson suddenly panicked, quickly controlling the eagle to move away from that area.

Eagles are meant to search for food and hunt; staying in one place for too long would certainly attract attention, especially when observing closely.

Upon hearing Tucson's reply, Kael frowned even more deeply,

"That can't be right..."

Kael shook his head and said, "Aren't they lacking food?"

"In such a winter, those Lizardmen should be using these corpses as food."

"Why bury them here?"

Kael's words puzzled everyone further.

In winter, there's no need to worry about corpses rotting and breeding plague; why would Lizardmen bury normally available food?

"What could be more important than eating?"

Chris looked at Gang Le, who shook his head.

It was Tucson, with red eyes, who spoke up,

"If it's us Wildmen, rituals are more important than eating."

"But rituals need altars, and there's nothing here now."

Tucson paused, and with the eagle's scanning, he saw a new scene and immediately said, "There's another place here with no snow, it should be another burial place for corpses!"

"These Wildmen must be up to something big!"

Chris looked at Gang Le, "Lord Gang Le, what should we do now?"

Gang Le said without hesitation, "No matter what, we can't let these Lizardmen have it easy!"

Gang Le grinned,

"Since they're burying bodies here, let's destroy this place and frustrate their intentions!"

"Alright!"

Chris nodded and then slightly furrowed his brows,

"But should we act now?"

Feeling he was too hasty in opposing Gang Le, Chris quickly explained, "Acting now would alarm these Lizardmen, and the Lord has asked us to record the surrounding environment."

"Hmm, you have a point."

Gang Le pondered for a moment, then looked up and instructed, "Tucson, keep monitoring these people, investigate and record the environment around, and see if they have any other reinforcements."

"No problem, Lord Gang Le."

Tucson responded cheerfully, simultaneously scouting while describing the surrounding terrain.

This does not need direct translation for Gang Le and Chris; it can be recorded on a map by the Wildman translator following Tucson.

Gang Le and Chris then looked at the map, studying together how to best tackle these Lizardmen.

...

...

At noon in Black Pine Ridge, sunlight shone on the snowy Northern Wasteland, causing a dazzling brilliance.

Such good weather is extremely rare in the winter Desert.

Without the biting cold wind, the sky was blue, and the warm sun made people want to doze off.

But Luo De didn't have the time to enjoy under the eaves and was standing on a hillside in the eastern part of Black Pine Ridge, squinting to survey the surroundings, breathing out faint white mist.

The Agricultural Department's people were dispersed on both east and west sides, trudging through thick snow, placing markers according to the places investigated by Luo De.

A Wildman youth from the Eagle Feather Tribe stood beside Luo De, his eyes evasive, showing some timidity.

He hesitated for a long time but couldn't help begging in a low voice, "Great Saint Master, could you... could you ask your pets to stop chasing my eagle..."

His voice trembled slightly with a touch of plea, head lowered, not daring to look directly at Luo De.

"Hmm?"

Luo De withdraw his gaze, saw the Wildman youth, and looked at Us next to him.

After Us explained, Luo De couldn't help but look up at the sky.

Frost and Thunder were on either side, flapping their wings, chasing the youth's eagle.

"Don't worry, Gala, they're not as fast as your eagle, they can't catch it."

Gala swallowed, and with a stiff resolve, he continued, "They're... they're chasing too closely, my eagle is about to tire out..."

After hearing Us translate, Luo De laughed heartily, patting Gala on the shoulder,

"It's okay, don't be afraid!"

Luo De comforted, "I've already warned them, Frost and Thunder just find it fun and are playing with your eagle."

He paused, his gaze turned skywards again, his tone carried more confidence,

"If they truly wanted to hunt, your eagle would have already ended up in their bellies."

Gala's face squeezed out a bitter smile, but his expression didn't relax.

He looked up at the enormous creatures overhead whose scales gleamed with metallic light, letting out a sigh.

Although Frost and Thunder did not bear down hard, the oppression was enough to make his eagle tremble with fear.

Gala could connect with his eagle and naturally sensed the fear in it.

Luo De saw Gala's timid but unable to speak more demeanor, and didn't want to make things harder for him.

Luo De cleared his throat and shouted toward the sky, "Frost! Thunder! Stop chasing!"

"It's enough to scare people like this on the first meeting!"

The two Flying Dragons seemingly understood the command, lazily beating their wings and turning in different directions.

Seeing that, Gala finally breathed a sigh of relief, a hint of lightness finally appearing on his face,
