Chapter 279: Weichuan's "Canal" and the Hidden Merfolk

Spirituality.

After a brief observation, Li Ye discovered:

The river formed by the Weichuan source water is infusing spirituality into this world.

This so-called spirituality is actually difficult to describe directly, but its presence truly enlightens the creatures with little intelligence, making the whole land vibrant and full of life.

——The spiritual Qi and spirituality brought along by the water quickly nourish the lands it flows through, swiftly sprouting flowers and grasses made purely of spiritual Qi on the once barren lands.

Though they may seem unremarkable, they are all Primordial Spirit Plants.

These are nurtured together with the Small Thousand World by the Weichuan source water, the primordial Spirit Plants of this world, with an incredulously pure spiritual Qi.

If a mortal were to consume them, they would be no different from immortal herbs, extending life, healing bones, and reviving the dead.

And this is just the first surprise brought by Weichuan.

The second surprise is its ability.

One must know that Weichuan flows throughout the Four Seasons Sect, without relying on any guiding Space Array, purely extending its power once agreed upon by a cultivator or requested.

After all, Weichuan is essentially a river.

And a river has the most unique ability, which is "connection", and Weichuan has nearly maximized this ability within this world.

Thus, the first surprise Weichuan brings to Li Ye is…

It can connect to all places Li Ye's aura is connected.

For instance.

Li Ye's Cave Mansion.

As Li Ye's thoughts moved, a stream of water broke through the barriers of space, directly connecting from this Small Thousand World to Li Ye's Cave Mansion.

The beavers, originally nestled in their small workshop hammering away at treasures, suddenly sensed something.

Their eyes brightened at once.

"Chirp chirp!"

The fastest to run were the five that first followed Li Ye.

They sprinted madly along.

With a splash, they entered the water and swam upstream, directly into the Weichuan river water in the Small Thousand World.

The moment they entered Weichuan.

The river water splashed around,

Cupping and surrounding them, forming lotuses.

Allowing them to frolic and splash as they liked within the lotuses, which leisurely drifted with the river's flow, circulating throughout the entire world.

However, they are not just playing around.

When needed, they still step up — building dams has been an ingrained instinct passed down through generations.

They knew where to build.

And how to build.

Having become instinct, they were already eager to start building.

As the Weichuan river water flowed, the beavers originally floating together on the lotuses dispersed, busily building dams in the river using spiritually rich soil.

The instinctual dam-building and artifact refining methods, coupled with being within Weichuan, meant every dam they constructed reached the level of a Magical Artifact.

These Magical Artifact level dams would divert the flow of Weichuan's river water, controlling the flow speed, water area, and make the best habitat for aquatic Spirit Beasts and Spirit Plants.

With these dams as centers, the aquatic Spirit Beasts and Spirit Plants would gradually spread throughout the Weichuan, achieving a nearly perfect cycle.

And the leading five beavers were even more special.

The dams they built seemed to utilize Weichuan's all-powerful spatial flowing ability, creating unique dams akin to portals.

——Tall dams spanned the end of the river, and the gentle Weichuan water flowed into them, directly streaming into every corner of Li Ye's Cave Mansion.

Peeking curiously from within, were the Spirit Beasts and Spirit Plants from Li Ye's Cave Mansion.

Water Spirits from East Lake, Spirit Bees and Mist-Imbibing Magnolia from Jade Orchid Blessed Land, Flint Fire Crystal Insects and Silver Moon Grass, Gourd Spirit Turtles, Cyan Birds, Earth Emotion Fungus, Bamboo Wood Ants…

Almost all the movable Spirit Beasts and Spirit Plants in Li Ye's Cave Mansion came here through the dams built by the beavers.

This is their first time in Li Ye's Small Thousand World.

All are very curious, looking around.

One must know, this is a brand new world occupied by no creatures, filled with spiritual Qi, with vitality brought by Weichuan.

To them, it is practically a divine bestowal of an excellent residence, although still not as good as Li Ye's Cave Mansion, a place to stay for a while is nice too.

If needed, they can follow the river back for dinner, having time for a round trip.

Some creatures immediately plan to settle here.

For instance, the Bamboo Wood Ants.

These creatures began busily transporting numerous small bamboo shoots, directly planting them in clearings, then using their bodies to form "Divine Halls".

Bringing the Earth Emotion Fungus, and delivering it inside.

Other Bamboo Wood Ants fetched smooth and full Mushroom Fruits, crushing and watering them over the bamboo shoots.

Clusters of bamboo shoots clustered around the not-so-tall Divine Halls, grew rapidly, within only a few breaths reaching the height obscuring the sky.

Their sleek bamboo bodies bore some exceedingly delicate runes, emitting a gentle green Spiritual Light, serving as the sole light source in this new territory of the Bamboo Wood Ants.

It doesn't feel eerie.

Instead, there's a bizarre feeling, refreshing, and immensely pleasant.
