Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 113: The Arrival of the Saintess (Part 5)

"Finally, they've left," David exhaled.

Reina also seemed relieved, loosening her slightly tight collar.

David's gaze instantly auto-focused, and his other hand reflexively wrapped around the slender waist.

"Lord Duke, wait."

Reina quickly held down his restless hand and whispered.

Although the guests at the banquet had left, there were still quite a few maids tidying up.

"Then let's change locations."

"It just so happens that we need to discuss the matter concerning the Church."

"So... how about going to the conference hall?" David suggested with a smile.

A dark office, overtime with a princess and a knight, indeed felt more thrilling and exciting.

"Yes, sounds good."

Reina nodded with a blush, and the two walked towards the conference hall arm in arm.

Lord Duke was right; today the Church revealed a lot of information, requiring careful strategizing.

"Hold on, let me sort out the documents first."

...

The next day.

The Holy Light Church continued to linger at Frost Wolf Ridge.

During this time, Holy Light Knights entered Frost Wolf Forest.

David merely let them wander around the periphery of Frost Wolf Forest and then proceeded directly to the Black Forest border.

Aware of bypassing the core region, Hillman kept a watchful eye.

However, as their purpose was to inspect the Black Forest, there was nothing they could say.

Naturally, they felt nothing amiss, subtly guessing that this area probably housed those gray wolves.

The secret technique of taming and cultivating gray wolves within the Frost Wolf Clan was no secret.

Hillman also used the Demon Hunter bloodline to sense, and had the Church's Light-winged Birds survey the sky, confirming that gray wolves indeed inhabited this area.

David observed Hillman's little tricks, his eyes flashing with a hint of coldness.

Outside the Black Forest.

Lucia examined the situation in Mist Forest, looking very serious.

Not only the Mist Forest bordering Frost Wolf Forest but mist in other areas was also dissipating.

This indicated the seal of the Black Forest was indeed weakening, with threats from the Black Forest beginning to approach the continent.

Lucia appeared solemn.

Turning around, she looked resolutely at David and the gathered knights, saying, "It seems we're facing more than just changes in natural phenomena."

"It could be a sign of the seal in the Black Forest loosening, implying that ancient and dangerous beings may soon awaken."

"We must prepare to protect our people and this land."

David, upon hearing this, took a deep breath and pounded his chest with his fist, "I will assume the responsibility of Duke Frost Wolf."

Lucia nodded in agreement.

"Indeed, we need to unite and be ready to face any dangerous challenges. I will report this matter to the Bishop as well."

After inspecting the Black Forest situation, the Holy Light Church finally set off from Frost Wolf Ridge.

David stood on the tall city wall, watching as the Church's convoy left.

He eventually set his sights on Hillman riding a Holy Light Horned Horse.

Once he successfully elevates the Nine-tailed Fox Bloodline to Tier Six, the first thing will be to eliminate this Demon Hunter who poses the greatest threat to wizards!

As for the Saintess.

Perhaps by then, with the enchanting power of the Nine-tailed Fox, he could try to control her.

"Finally, they're gone," Reina sighed in relief.

During this time, she had always been on guard against the Church, fearing they would uncover the witches' secret.

Now, with the Church's departure.

Frost Wolf Ridge had finally safely passed this dangerous period brought by the Church's arrival.

The Gray Wolf Knights nodded; they were among the few in the domain aware of the witches' existence, always anxious during the Church's visit.

"Thank you for your hard work," David spoke.

The officials and knights of the domain, upon hearing, all knelt down on one knee to pledge loyalty.

David then led these domain officials and knights back to City Hall to continue handling subsequent administrative affairs.

This time they had quietly reached some agreements with the Church.

Even if it's just for show, some official decrees still need to be issued.

"Lord, next month is the time for the Frost Wolf Clan's ancestral rite," a Gray Wolf Knight stepped forward to remind.

Ancestral Rite.

David's heart stirred.

The first day of autumn each year marks the time for the Frost Wolf Clan's ancestral rite.

Every alternate year, the tomb of the Frost Wolf Clan's ancestors opens, allowing descendants to enter.

This year was David's first opportunity to enter the ancestral land.

According to the Frost Wolf Clan's ancestral teachings.

Only those who have activated the Frost Wolf Clan's bloodline may enter the ancestral land.

Previously, he had not activated the Frost Giant Wolf Bloodline, naturally rendering him ineligible to enter, but now it's clearly different.

"Alright, I will be prepared," David nodded.

He held the ancestral rite in high regard this time.

After all, according to rumors, the greatest treasure of the Frost Wolf Clan was hidden in the ancestral land!

Though he was unaware of whether the treasure of the Frost Wolf Clan was in the ancestral land.

He speculated that the wizard relics collected by the Frost Wolf Clan could very likely be hidden inside the ancestral land.

Regardless of the reason, this time he would definitely explore the ancestral land thoroughly.

Once all officials had left, the office was again left with only David and Reina, marking another round of overtime.

...

Thus, they waited another three days.

David had confirmed the Church had completely departed, finally returning to the Wizard Castle.

"Lord,"

Amy rushed up to him upon seeing David.

She had been worried all these days, now releasing all emotions in tears.

"Alright, alright, it's all fine now," David comforted her.

Next came Cynthia, Hill, and Anne, whom he comforted individually.

Once Ye Zi cleared away some plants blocking the castle, life in the castle finally showed signs of vitality again.

Fire Dance and Shuili, the two little maids, started busying themselves within the castle.

David gathered the witches, briefly explaining the outside occurrences.

The witches also shared their achievements; during this period, they had devoted themselves to cultivation, yielding significant progress.

That night.

After a long separation, it was like a renewed honeymoon.

Amy, Cynthia, Hill, and even Anne were very proactive.

...

A sleepless night.

The next day, David felt life return to its previous rhythm.

Daily morning, afternoon, and evening were spent cultivating with his ladies, followed by knight and wizard cultivation.

Occasionally indulging in lover's games with Melissa, then handling some on-domain administrative tasks, and not forgetting to dote on Yuna in the manor.

Life was busy yet fulfilling.

Seeing the witches' playful silhouettes in the back garden always brought a smile to his face.

He was determined to protect the Wizard Castle.

No one would threaten the Wizard Castle in front of him.

And in the future, he intended to establish a kingdom belonging to wizards, allowing all wizards to live freely on the continent.

Thus, a month swiftly passed, arriving at the day for the Frost Wolf Clan's ancestral rite.

...

Frost Wolf Castle, back garden.

Liya had been steadily solidifying her knight power recently.

With Tier Four Frost Wolf Bloodline and Tier Five Frost Wolf Secret Medicine's assistance.

Her power had finally reached Tier Three Peak, with a chance to break through to Earth Knight.

However, she knew that condensing Fighting Qi and stepping into Earth Knight Level was difficult even with Young Master David's help.

"Don't worry."

"This time at the ancestral rite, I'll take you to the ancestral land."

"My father broke through to Earth Knight Level in the ancestral land back then; you can certainly use the power inside to break through,"

David smiled and comforted.

His words weren't merely to reassure Liya.

According to the Frost Wolf Clan's ancient texts, there indeed was a force inside the ancestral land to help Frost Wolf Knights break through.

Yet what that power was, none of the ancestors who entered the ancestral land elaborated, requiring entry to discern.

Liya was deeply moved, knowing the ancestral land's significance to the Frost Wolf Clan.

Young Master David allowing her into the ancestral land was indeed the greatest acknowledgment of her identity!
