"I will find a way to repay your favor."
The Saintess's eyes showed defiance, not intending to yield.
David heard this, his expression calm.
His gaze fell on the wary Saintess, and he said in a deep voice, "Did you come to the Eastern Territory because of the vampires?"
David's face revealed a hint of sarcasm.
Although the Holy Light Church's divine arts indeed can restrain these dark creatures.
But he didn't believe that a Saintess with merely Tier Five power could truly confront the vampires of the Eastern Territory.
So.
Either the Saintess had some kind of hidden asset.
Or she was just here to scout, with some higher-up from the Church arriving later.
Moreover, the Holy Light Church's goal definitely can't just be dealing with vampires.
Especially now with the Blood Queen about to awaken.
David felt that the Holy Light Church surely had some ulterior motive.
After hearing his words, the Saintess looked up and nodded slightly.
She did not expect the vampires of the Eastern Territory to be so powerful, almost causing her demise there.
Luckily, Duke Frost Wolf arrived just in time.
Thinking of this, she suddenly hesitated and said, "Lord Duke, why did you come to the Eastern Territory?"
But as soon as she said it, she remembered what Duke Frost Wolf had just said, causing her cheeks to redden slightly.
"I'm just glad you're safe."
"I'll find a way to deal with those vampires."
David nodded to Lucia and walked straight towards the outside of the Holy Light Church.
Seeing this, the Saintess slowly breathed a sigh of relief, her face showing gratitude.
Other Holy Light Knights looked at Duke Frost Wolf with very complex expressions, as this was their second time feeling the pressure brought by him.
But it was also Duke Frost Wolf's two appearances that helped them resolve crises.
Yet anyone with clear sight could see; Duke Frost Wolf wasn't there to help the Holy Light Church, but clearly for their Saintess!
...
After David gained some favor in the Saintess's eyes.
He directly returned to the castle of Lion City to look for the ladies.
Hill, Annie, Sura, Lily, and Lune were in the bedroom, waiting for Lord Duke to return, occasionally exchanging whispers about the interesting events in the room.
Seeing Lord Duke return, the witches quickly stood.
"Ladies, it's time to rest," David said with a smile.
It was nighttime, and he could still engage in cultivation with the ladies.
And on the next evening.
David took Annie to the ridges outside of Lion City.
The Duke of Vampires and a group of vampires waited solemnly.
They were puzzled at this time, wondering why Lord Duke would support the Holy Light Church, as wizards and the Church were mortal enemies, weren't they?
Seeing their master arrive, the Duke of Vampires immediately knelt on one knee to show respect.
"Rise," David said in a deep voice.
The Duke of Vampires then stood up, quietly waiting for the orders.
"Thank you for protecting the Duke of the Eastern Border during this time."
"Protecting the lady is our duty," the Duke of Vampires said.
He looked up at his master, suddenly feeling as though facing a Prince, the powerful pressure from his own vital force making him shiver inside.
David spoke with a deep voice, "Let me see your Blood Contract."
"Alright."
The Duke of Vampires nodded.
Among them were a few knights as well.
These knights were the ones the Duke of Vampires found; he wanted to transform them into vampires, and next, the Duke of Vampires would turn the knights into vampires.
This was the Blood Contract that the vampires were about to use, a powerful Blood Contract that could grant these knights vampire powers, hence completing the transformation.
Annie watched quietly on the side; she possessed a Spirit Contract, and the Blood Contract was clearly also a type of contract, able to help Annie better understand.
During this time, as more magical beasts formed contracts with Annie, she condensed many spiritual marks, advancing her power to the Tier Four Peak, just a step away from breaking through to Tier Five.
But this one step was blocked, hence David thought of the Blood Contract of the vampire clan, believing there would be commonalities since both involved contracts.
The Duke of Vampires slowly stepped out from the shadows, his eyes revealing an ancient and profound light.
He extended his hand, palm up, and murmured ancient spell words.
As the spell was chanted, a strange power began to gather in the air, forming red runes visible to the naked eye, which danced as if alive on the Duke's palm.
The knights watched nervously; their eyes showed both fear and anticipation.
They knew that once they signed the Blood Contract, they would no longer be humans but become members of the vampires, gaining extraordinary powers and immortality but also losing their sunlight life, forever dwelling in darkness.
Annie focused her gaze; she could sense the powerful forces embedded within those runes and their subtle connection to the Spirit Contract.
She tried to touch those runes with her spiritual power to understand their fundamental principles.
The Duke of Vampires' spell reached its climax; his voice became deep and powerful, as the runes began rotating, forming a complex pattern.
Suddenly, he bit his finger, allowing a drop of blood to fall in the center of the runes; immediately, the runes emitted a dazzling light, and blood fused with the runes, forming a scarlet beam, shooting straight into the sky.
The knights were drawn to the light, involuntarily stepping forward, extending their palms to let the light touch their skin.
