A Blunt Sword and a Broken-hearted Villager

Ch. 7

Chapter 7 Days of Continuous Bad Luck

During the day, birds circled in the sky.

“dong”

Originally, Bray had intended to kick open the stones blocking the gap, but it seemed Bray had overestimated his current physical strength.

“dongdong!!!!”

After a great deal of effort, Bray finally pushed all the stones away.

Crawling out of the prison, Bray was blinded by the long-awaited sunlight.

“…”

Bray never thought that there would be a day when he couldn't stand the sunlight.

Unfolding the parchment paper Barossa had given him, Bray looked at it speechlessly.

No text, no pattern, a piece of parchment of unknown meaning.

But Bray still put the parchment back in his pocket.

The current Bray could be said to have no destination.

Go back to the previous town and continue taking quests to earn money?

Bray suddenly didn't want to do that anymore.

There was no reason, just that Bray still hadn't recovered from the huge shock he had received not long ago.

After a little while, perhaps Bray would want to continue being an adventurer.

After all, Bray still had to earn money to support his sister's studies, and he also needed money to live.

All in all, in the end, Bray still had to continue working.

But at the very least, Bray didn't want to go to the guild to get quests right now.

“No matter how you put it, he's considered my lifesaver…”

Persuading himself like this, Bray found himself a goal for now.

Deliver this parchment into the hands of a gravedigger in a cemetery in the suburbs of Clinton.

But… how should I put it, the combination of a cemetery and a gravedigger was really an unlikable combination.

Bray walked out of the fortress that had become a ruin and started his journey.

“Although I don't know how to get to Clinton, I'll do my best.”

Bray cheered himself on with no motivation at all.

Then, as he walked and walked, he fainted.

---

“…” Bray silently sat up.

The current Bray was in a horse-drawn carriage.

Bray had fainted, probably from excessive blood loss.

As mentioned before, even if he kept losing blood from his eye socket, it wouldn't kill Bray directly.

But anemia would still make him faint.

As for the principle, Bray had no idea at all.

Bray looked around, and then his heart sank.

This horse-drawn carriage…

A noble lady's carriage? Wrong.

A merchant guild lady's carriage? Wrong.

This was a bandit's carriage.

Why? Because Bray was currently tied up.

“Big brothers, I have no money on me, I wonder if you can let me go.”

Bray said softly to a fat bandit beside him.

“I already knew you had no money.”

The bandit looked at Bray with disdain.

“Cough cough… then as a man, with no money and no looks…” Bray laughed awkwardly.

“How the hell would I know why the boss suddenly wanted to capture you!!!” the fat bandit roared.

“Shut up! You pig!!!” The bandit driving the carriage turned his head and shouted fiercely at the fat bandit.

“Got it…” This fat fellow shrank his neck and became timid.

“Don't get rough with that guy!!! The big boss is going to enjoy him!”

“He seems to look pretty good, the big boss said he wants to dote on him for a while.”

After hearing the words of the bandit driving the carriage, Bray and the fat bandit looked at each other and shuddered.

“That…” Bray started to tremble.

“Our big boss is gay.”

“…” Bray didn't say anything, but was still trembling violently.

——"Who have I offended."

Bray looked outside, it wasn't just this one carriage.

It seemed that he was unlucky enough to be picked up by a passing bandit convoy.

Although Bray wasn't expecting to be picked up by a beautiful woman now, being picked up by bandits was really unbearable…

“By the way, where is this carriage going?”

Bray suddenly asked.

“Hmm?” The fat bandit glanced at Bray, hesitating whether to answer.

Not expecting that this guy would receive the big boss's favor in the future, the fat bandit still chose to deal with him.

“Clinton.”

“Clinton?”

“Yes, the big boss's lair is in Clinton.”

“…”

Bray sized up the fat bandit in front of him with his one dead fish eye.

And the fat bandit, being looked at by Bray's listless eye, felt uncomfortable all over.

“Damn it, don't use this pair… no, this eye to look at me.”

But Bray ignored the fat bandit's words and pondered some things.

It seems, maybe he's hitched a ride?

Although it wasn't a young lady's carriage, it seemed to be a good choice.

Bray's feet were also tied, so walking was impossible.

But this didn't stop Bray from jumping.

The corner of his eye glanced outside the carriage, and there happened to be a slope.

Although he didn't know where this slope would lead.

——"Won't fall to my death, just right."

Under the astonished gaze of the fat bandit, Bray took a leap, jumped out of the carriage, and rolled down the slope.

“…” The fat bandit was stunned, unable to say a word for a long time.

Who would have thought that Bray would jump out of the carriage without a word of disagreement? And jump towards that kind of place.

This was really courting death!!!

“Holy shit!!!!!!!!!! He jumped!! He jumped!!!”

“Fatty, I told you not to shout!!!! What jumped!!!” The bandit driving the carriage yelled with a thick neck.

“He jumped out of the carriage!!!! The big boss's man jumped out of the carriage!!!!!” the fat bandit cried out in horror.

“What!!!!!” The bandit driving the carriage was stunned for a moment and didn't stop the carriage.

This long delay had already taken them far, far away from where Bray had jumped out of the carriage.

“What should we do!!! The big boss will…” The fat bandit thought of something terrifying.

“…” The bandit driving the carriage didn't speak, his eyes were already vacant.

---

“palapala”

Bray rolled all the way down the slope.

Stones and wooden stakes bruised Bray all over.

His already serious injuries were once again aggravated.

A lot of Bray's blood was left on the slope.

Feeling the world spin around him, Bray's throat felt sweet, and blood gushed out.

After a long time, Bray finally fell on flat ground and stopped rolling.

His vision gradually dimmed.

——"I even thought I wouldn't fall to my death…"

——"In this case, it would have been better to be taken away by the bandits…"
