The moment Shane provoked the two Zombie Lords, their attention shifted entirely toward him.
Their glowing eyes locked onto his position, and their massive bodies began to move as they only focused on him, ignoring the bombardment and the Turrets firing at their tough bodies…
The first Zombie Lord raised its arm, the steel plating on its skin was already grinding against itself as it prepared a downward strike, while the second one crouched slightly before launching forward with a shoulder charge that could easily flatten a building!
To everyone's surprise, Shane braced himself!
He didn't dodge or raise his shield…
He just stood there with his arms crossed, waiting to be attacked!
However, Shane was confident with his current stats…
His Genesis Armor's core surged once more, and the Spirit Pulse Obelisk synced with his location, releasing another localized pulse that disrupted the momentum of the incoming attacks.
Still, the impact was tremendous. The first strike came down like a falling tower, slamming into the ground just beside him…
Boom!
The shockwave alone was enough to send debris flying in all directions.
Shane was thrown off balance, his left side catching the edge of the impact as the ground beneath him cracked and buckled.
Before he could fully recover, the second Lord's charge connected… not directly. But it had enough force to send a wave of compressed air and shattered stone into Shane's chest, lifting him off his feet and hurling him several meters back. He crashed into a pile of broken barricade plating, his Bio Armor absorbing the brunt of the force, but the internal strain was undeniable.
He just survived two direct attacks from the two Zombie Lords!
However, Shane didn't do this just because he wanted to test his strength or prove his power.
He did this in order to let his subordinates get into a position!
"How is it, Cloud?" Shane asked his A.I.
[ They're ready… ]
The Mech Frames moved immediately.
Five Juggernauts and five Vanguards emerged from the rear line, their heavy footsteps shaking the battlefield as they advanced with synchronized movement…
Part of their armor was even removed for their mobility…
Aside from them, the Flame Towers, and their targeting systems had also locked onto the two Zombie Lords without hesitation.
This was the moment Shane had been waiting for.
He did it to buy time… The time for the Mechs to position themselves where it mattered most.
Because, despite their towering size and overwhelming power, the Zombie Lords had a weakness.
Their lower bodies, especially the joints and undercarriage, weren't fully protected by steel plating. The armor was concentrated on their upper torsos and arms, leaving the legs and pelvic regions exposed to attacks from below.
Shane had noticed it earlier, and Cloud had confirmed it.
[ Confirmed. Structural integrity is weakest at the lower rear quadrant. Targeting priority updated. ]
The Juggernauts surged forward first.
AEGIS-01 units, built for frontline assault, activated their Rampage Mode.
This mode gives them 300% Boost in 90 Seconds, and after this, they could be in trouble. However, they needed all the power they could muster.
Hydraulic systems hissed and groaned as their strength tripled, and their twin-linked rotary cannons activated, unleashing a barrage of armor-piercing rounds directly into the backs of the Zombie Lords' knees and thighs!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The impact was immediate.
One of the Lords staggered, its left leg buckling slightly as the concentrated fire tore through the unprotected plating.
Sparks flew, and corrupted blood sprayed across the ground as the pile bunkers were deployed, slamming into the joints!
Boom! Boom!
The second Lord turned, but it was too late.
The Vanguards had already locked in.
AEGIS-02 units, designed for mobile artillery, launched their shoulder-mounted plasma rounds in a perfected sequence. The blasts weren't aimed at the torso, they were angled downward, striking the soft tissue beneath the Lords' massive frames.
Boom!
The explosions were deafening.
The ground shook as the plasma detonations vaporized chunks of corrupted flesh!
"Hahaha! Eat that!"
Shane watched from his position, still recovering from the earlier impact… As he said this, he also looked at his Pet, Silver…
Thankfully, his Slime was still with him and protected him from the impact.
Well, despite his planning, he still underestimated the force coming from the two Zombie Lords that had been boosted by the Red Night.
He then watched as the Zombie Lords roared…
It was probably not in pain, but because of their helplessness in their situation.
They tried to retaliate, but their movements were sluggish now. Their legs were damaged, their balance was compromised, and their attention was split between Shane and the Mech Frames behind them…
The Super Soldiers moved in next, targeting the exposed flanks with coordinated strikes, while the Warden Units reinforced the perimeter to prevent any lesser Zombies from interfering.
It was a perfect strategy to isolate the terrifying Zombie Lords!
***
From the Floating Fortress, the viewing deck erupted in stunned silence. They didn't expect such a perfect tactic. They really maximized Shane's absolute strength to tank those attacks!
Still, Eva couldn't help but admire their strategy.
"They're attacking from below… That's the weak point?" she muttered after seeing that all of them were targeting the Zombie Lord's bottom!
Dain's spider twitched rapidly, recording every angle.
"They baited them into exposing it. Shane took the hit so the Mechs could flank from the rear. That's textbook coordination. Still, I didn't expect that such a huge Zombie Lord made of steel forgot to put steel plating on their bottom."
The others were speechless.
Even the merchant had set his tea aside, eyes wide as the screen zoomed in on the Juggernauts slamming their pile bunkers into the Lords' bottom again and again, while the Vanguards continued their bombardment.
Some survivors leaned forward, gripping the railings as if they were watching a championship match. Others clutched their popcorn bowls tighter, forgetting to eat as the tension climbed.
They wanted to see what would happen next. They were all too focused on the screen, watching as Shane's forces dealt with the Zombies.
They weren't just impressed, they were inspired!
