Chapter 91: Is Flint dead?

Darion threw a sharp glance to the entrance of the cave when Lucian was about to say something.

"Someone is coming." Darion said in a low tone and begins to hide himself in the darkness of the cave, "careful, she is with the hero team."

'I know I heard voices coming from this cave.' Tara thought as she step into the cave, curious on who was inside.

"Is someone in here?" She asked, her loud voice echos over the rocky walls of the cave but she got no reply. "Maybe I was mistaken," she mumble to herself, and was able to turn away when she held the small movement of feet which catches her attention again.

Tara move deeper into, slightly afraid because what could be there was dangerous and her teammates weren't behind her. "Lucian?" She didn't a double look to be sure that it was indeed Lucian. He was bleeding and silently moaning because of his injuries.

Lucian had quickly summoned a dagger to wound himself, thinking that the unwanted guests stepping into the cave was an enemy. His intentions were to make his enemy think that he was badly wounded and had no will to fight, that wall he would be able to kill his opponent swiftly.

'It's just Tara.' Lucian inwardly grumble and glanced at the darkness where the dungeon king was hiding. It was unusual that a proud demon like him would be hiding from players instead of using his presence to make them uncomfortable and tremble from fear.

However, what Lucian didn't know was that the one Darion was hiding from wasn't Tara, but rather the 12 gods whom were probably watching the hero scream. Darion had tampered with the magic that gave them the ability to spy on Lucian because he didn't want to be seen. He didn't want the 12 gods to know that a piece of his soul left the dungeon.

"What happened to you?" Tara asked in concern, knee on her feet, and examine Lucian wounds.

"Are you with Flint and the others?" Lucian ask to confirm Darion words.

Tara pretended not to hear Lucian as she torn out a piece of fabric from her shirt, leaving her flat tummy expose and then wrapping it around Lucian injured arm.

'he's right.' Lucian thought, 'she's with Thorin, but then, those that means that Flint is dead?'

"Is Flint dead?" Lucian blurt out.

Tara flinch at his question and blink at him a couple of times before sighing and giving him. "Flint and the rest of the team are alive. That day when the earthquake happened and was burying the things around us, we were scared that we were all going to die, until…" Tara hesitated, tilting her head down to remove her gaze from Lucian while discreetly glancing at him. "Well… someone showed up and save us." She covered the truth.

"Who?" Lucian ask in a cold tone.

Tara remains silent for a while until she suddenly hear a voice shouting her name from outside the cave. "Thorin." She nervously confess as she turned behind her. "We were save by the hero Thorin."

"Tara!" The male voice outside shouted again.

"That means you and your teammate were never buried under Hlasked." Lucian thought out loud, realizing how rigged the whole game was, to make sure that Thorin win.

"What?" Tara was confused and didn't understand what Lucian mean.

'why then did that damn god told me to win and come to him when he already has a candidate he wanted to win the game. This must be why they wanted to kill me, because I refuse to stay dead after I have been buried in the belly of Hlasked.' he gave a dry laugh at his thought.

Tara wears a worried expression on her face as her eyes move between Lucian and the entrance of the cave. Thorin was searching for Lucian, claiming that Lucian had kidnapped Reed and would kill him for it, Tara didn't want any of Thorin men to see Lucian, she was still graceful to him, for helping her killed Draven.

"She is going to betray you." Darion voice whispered into Lucian's ear. "Kill her. You can't trust anyone, all your friends are one them going to betray you, kill them all before they do." His evil voice slowly repeated itself in Lucian head.

"You are wounded. It won't be good if anyone see you here, I'm sure that you don't have the strength to fight." Tara said anxiously, she wanted to ask Lucian about his teammates but there was no time for that. "Stay silent, while I lead him away, no matter what happened, don't come out." She left just when Lucian has begin to slowly raise his dagger to stab her in the heart.

"Where have you been?" The male player in Thorin team asked, "didn't you hear me calling for you?" He was irritated.

Tara force herself to smile, "sorry about that." Ever since Thorin and his teammates save her team, they have been force with no choice but to join Thorin, because he wasn't going to show mercy to anyone on Lucian side. "The area is clear, there is no beast around, but I don't think this is a good place to use as a camp site." Tara thought of Lucian, later she was going to come back and check on him if he was okay.

"Captain Thorin is going to come around and check for himself if this is a good place to camp or not." Another male voice, Arvan, who had overheard Tara pop in.

Tara narrowed her eyes at him. She didn't like Thorin teams and they didn't like her and her teammates either, because they refuse to see Thorin as their captain and keep Flint as their only captain instead.

"Since my words holds no value, why was I sent out to scout the area in the first place." Tara walk away, trying her best to lead both male players away from the cave.

"Captain Thorin cares deeply about everyone, although you and your teammate don't deserve his kindness. I was instructed to check on you two because you were taking so long." Arvan turned his attention towards the cave he had seen Tara secretly run out off. He was suspicious and had feelings that something was wrong, perhaps the wicked bitch was hiding something that could harm his teammates. "What is in the cave Tara?"

"What cave?" The male player who was yet to notice the cave ask.

"There is no cave, only rock, let's return to report to your captain. Remember he's waiting." Tara tried her best to keep neutral but her eyes that glanced at the direction of the cave betrays her. "Stop!" She shouted in a trouble voice as Arvan begins to move towards the cave. "See. There is no one here." Tara was surprised, wondering when and how Lucian disappeared and with his injury.

Arvan spotted the human blood on the ground and gave Tara a long look, before saying, "let's return to the captain." He had questions, but there was nothing he could do to make Tara say the truth, all he could do was to inform his captain again, for the hundredth time that Tara and her teammates couldn't be trusted, killing untrustworthy humans like her was justice.
