The Golden Winged Of Football: Haruma Kusaka

Chapter 97: A War!

Once the band was secured around his arm, Kurogami lifted his head and looked straight at his team.

"They won't be scoring now."

His voice was calm, steady, completely controlled.

But then in an instant, his expression tightened and he exploded with a roar that shook the air.

"I SAID I WON'T LET THEM SCORE ANYMORE!"

The sudden outburst hit the Wolves like a shockwave. Every one of them flinched, staring at Kurogami with slightly widened eyes, stunned by the raw force behind his words.

Kurogami's expression twisted into fierce intensity, raw fury burning across his face as he snapped his eyes toward Kabuto.

"Did you hear me, Kabuto?" he roared. "I said they won't score anymore!" His voice thundered loud, wild, and overflowing with pure fire.

Keeping his teeth gritted, Kurogami snapped his gaze toward Haru.

"Haru!" he shouted, voice exploding across the field. "I said they won't score!"

Haru stood frozen with his eyes wide, chest tight, sweat dripping down his face as he stared at Kurogami in stunned silence, unable to even blink.

"Zora! Makoto!" Kurogami roared. "They won't score anymore!"

His words tore straight through Zora and Makoto, sending a violent shiver down both their spines. They stared back at him with wide, stunned eyes, completely shaken by the force of his voice.

His words tore straight through Zora and Makoto, sending a violent shiver down both their spines. They stared back at him with wide, shocked eyes, completely shaken by the force of his voice.

Without slowing down, Kurogami roared once again.

"Itsuki, Izaya, Nagisa," his voice, sharp and furious. "Can you hear me? I said they won't score again!"

Nagisa's chest rose and fell rapidly, breath sharp and intense. Then, with a fierce nod, he answered Kurogami's fire with his own.

To his next Itsuki sucked in a deep breath, his mouth open as he tried to steady his breathing. After a moment, he nodded too, strongly, determination returning to his eyes.

Meanwhile, Izaya stood in silence, his face shadowed in darkness as he was holding his injured shoulder, saying nothing.

Kurogami's head snapped toward Jiho.

"Jiho!"

Then he turned sharply to Raya.

"Raya."

Finally, his eyes locked onto Haruma, who was standing staring back at him with slightly wide eyes, sweat dripping down his face with his breathing uneven.

Kurogami held Haruma's gaze for a long second with an expression serious, steady and unwavering.

"I won't let them score."

This time his voice came out lower, controlled, far more composed than before, but the weight behind it was even heavier.

With his face hardened with fury, Jiho nodded fiercely with his eyes burning with fire. Beside him, Raya nodded as well, his teeth gritted, shoulders trembling with rising determination.

Kurogami turned away from Haruma and scanned his entire team with his gaze sharp and commanding.

"For the next thirty-five minutes," he said, voice firm and ringing with authority, "I'm giving my all. I'm putting my soul on the line. And that is exactly what I want from every single one of you… I can't win this alone... I need my wolves back."

A wave of anger and determination swept through the team as some clenched their fists, some gritted their teeth. And slowly, one by one, the look of hunger began returning to their eyes.

"Kabuto," Kurogami called out sharply.

Kabuto's head snapped up, all of his attention pulled toward Kurogami.

Kurogami fixed his eyes on him with his gaze firm and unblinking before declaring.

"Go after Yohan."

Kabuto's eyes slowly widened.

For a moment, it felt like his heart just stopped inside his chest.

With his voice firm and commanding Kurogami continued, "I don't care what you do. I don't care how you do it. But you're going after Yohan…. Whatever it takes… show him what it feels like to play against the wildest wolf."

Kabuto's expression cracked open instantly. A wild, manic smirk spread across his face, his earlier fear dissolving and a wave of uneasy joy, raw and feral, washed through him, and it showed clearly in his widening grin and gleaming eyes.

Kurogami's eyes snapped toward Haru before calling him sharply.

"Haru."

Haru stiffened immediately, his entire focus snapping onto Kurogami, eyes locked and alert.

"The field is yours," Kurogami declared boldly, "Dive. Dive without fearing anything. It doesn't matter if you land on the ball or on their feet… just keep them under pressure, keep them under your fear."

A smirk slowly spread across Haru's face. He began to nod, once, twice, then faster, his racing heartbeat settling into something calmer, steadier as if Kurogami's words had snapped every fear out of him.

"Makoto and Zora," Kurogami continued, "You two stay linked with Nagisa and Izaya. Your play needs to balance the wild pressure coming from Haru and Kabuto. Keep the defense controlled, clearances should be your first priority."

Makoto and Zora exchanged a quick smirk, nodding with renewed confidence, the fire returning to their eyes.

Kurogami then turned toward Itsuki, who immediately looked up at him.

"Itsuki, keep your eyes on me," Kurogami instructed firmly. "And keep tracking the positioning of our forwards at all times."

Itsuki nodded firmly, determination settling back into his eyes. The fear that had clouded him before was gone, replaced by a burning fire that matched the rest of the Wolves.

Kurogami then broke into a smirk as he began to shift his gaze, saying.

"I don't think my smartest wolf needs any orders."

His eyes came to a stop on Nagisa, who looked back at him with a quiet smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Still… I want your IQ and your skills to be at their highest," Kurogami added, his voice steady and composed "Make sure the midfield stays under control."

Nagisa's smile softened into a calm, composed nod. He looked focused and collected, like someone who already knew exactly what needed to be done.

Kurogami then slowly turned toward Izaya, who was still standing in silence, one hand gripping his injured shoulder.

"Izaya," he called out calmly.

Izaya lifted his head at the sound of his name, his unconfident eyes slowly locking onto Kurogami's.

Kurogami held his gaze for a quiet moment before speaking "Keep your heart in peace." his tone, firm yet strangely gentle.

The words hung in the air. A flicker of confusion crossed everyone's faces. Even Izaya furrowed his brow slightly, staring back at Kurogami as if trying to understand what he meant.

Kurogami then turned to Jiho, who instantly snapped his eyes up at him. Anticipation was written all over Jiho's face, eager, hungry, waiting for his assignment.

"To stop their strongest," Kurogami said steadily, "I want my strongest."

Jiho's eyes widened. For a moment he couldn't even process the words. His breath caught in his throat as the meaning sank in.

"Kazutora Inzuka," Kurogami continued, his tone sharp. "He's been fearless, charging straight at your midfield without hesitation. If he does it again… he's all yours."

Jiho stood completely stunned, staring at Kurogami with wide, unblinking eyes. For a moment, he looked frozen, his mind blank, unable to process what he had just been entrusted with.

Kurogami kept his gaze locked on him before continuing.

"Just like I said, I don't care what you do or how you do it. I want Kazutora to be blocked… In this entire tournament, no one has ever dribbled past Kazutora. No one has ever snatched the ball from him. All because he's fearless… and strong."

Kurogami's eyes sharpened before continuing. "And to stop someone like him, I need my most fearless and strongest wolf."

Jiho stood frozen for a moment, but then something snapped inside him, as he quickly clenched his fists, gritted his teeth. And when he lifted his head again, his eyes were burning, an entire storm raging behind them.

"If he steps up," Kurogami continued, voice firm and precise, "you're the one who stops him. And don't worry about possession… Nagisa will cover for you."

"Got it," Jiho replied, his voice steady and fierce. The hesitation was gone, replaced by sharp, focused resolve. He looked ready to tear through anyone who stood in his way, especially Kazutora.

Kurogami then turned to Raya, who was already staring at him with intense anticipation, ready, waiting for his captain's command.

"Raya… thirty-five minutes, four goals."

Raya didn't blink, listening with all his focus, eyes fixed on Kurogami, absorbing every word like it was life or death.

"I can't guide them alone," Kurogami continued, "I need my warden wolf to be active all the time."

Listening to this, a heavy thump echoed in Raya's chest.

Responsibility. Pressure. Purpose.

All of it slammed into him at once, yet his gaze didn't waver. His eyes stayed locked on Kurogami, now burning with a fierce determination that was rapidly rebuilding itself inside him.

Kurogami continued, "All while attacking with everything you have, I want you to be razor-sharp. Guide them. Call the shots. You and I… together we're leading this pack to victory."

Raya drew in a long breath, shoulders rising and falling. Then he nodded, firm, confident. The turmoil in his eyes had vanished, replaced by calm, focused resolve.

Only then did Kurogami slowly turn his head. His gaze locked onto Haruma, who stood slightly aside from the rest, a player whose presence alone shifted the air.
