"I know it might be difficult for you, George, but I can't stay in this marriage anymore. I need to move on. Even though I might have never said it, it still pain me a lot inside."
What she said is true, as she was really disturbed to know about Goerge infertility only after her marriage and it broke her dream to have a child.
She regretted as to why she agreed to her parents when they forced her for this marriage at that time but it was also time thta changed things.
After they had adopted a child named jun, even her dream to have one child of her own was also affected but it still was still a dream for her, one that she buried deep inside in her heart, and now that she truly fall in love saw her long dream have a chance to be completed, she was ready to leave Goerge for that.
As for George, he just sat there for a moment, looking like he was trying to process everything that is happening so quickly.
Finally he spoke up in a betrayed tone with dead eyes. "I don't want to lose you, Mira. But if this is what you want, then I won't stand in your way."
Mira felt a bit of sadness as she saw the pain in George's eyes. She knew that he loved her, but that wasn't enough, alex has shown her a world much bigger than her little household and she wanted to explore that world.
"I am... I am sorry George. But I can't keep living like this. I want a chance to be a mother, and I can't do that with you." She said with a sigh.
They eventually reached an agreement, and George reluctantly agreed to the divorce. Mira felt a mix of sadness and relief. It was difficult to end a marriage, but she knew it was the right thing to do.
"I'm sorry, George," Mira said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"It's okay," George replied, looking defeated. "I'll start the paperwork for the divorce. I just hope that someday we can still be friends.
As for Jun, I want to still treat him as my own son. Since both of us will leave this place anyway, I will only say to him that... you are no more once he grow up. He will never know what happened between us."
Mira nodded, feeling tears streaming down her face. Even though her feelings aren't that of love they still have spent years together in this house. "I just hope you find success in your life, and maybe, someone who can understand you... Someone better than me."
...
(Tom's POV)
Tom was currently having breakfast with his family, these past few days has been really stressful for him, not only he lost every loot of his in the dungeon but his nightmares has also increased a lot making him sleep deprived.
The dragoness of his had also awake now after sleeping for a long time but haven't spoken up since she checked his memory to catch up with what happened inside dungeon making him wonder what might be the reason behind this.
While Tom was having breakfast with his family, the feeling stressed and sleep-deprived hit him again, it has become a common occurrence for him after not having a good sleep after returning from the place known as dungeon.
But he controlled it as he looked around the table, there was his sisters, Eva and Emma, who were twins, but didn't get along with him, things have gotten even worse when he went missing a week ago and they got to know that he started drinking.
Even though alcohol barely work on him, he still can't tell them this as of now, resulting in the situation where eva barely spoke to him, while Emma openly mocked him.
There were two more person around the table, they were Tom's father and mother. His father is a hardworking businessman, was currently sitting at the centre most seat of the table while reading the newspaper and drinking coffee.
His mother was a working woman who was also very busy, even though she is the mother of three, anyone who see her will only think that she is in her mid twenties.
As they were eating, Tom's head drooped as he dozed off, he was about to wake up from the nightmare that suddenly, a sharp tap on his head made him jolt awake. It was his father, who scolded him for dozing off on the dining table.
"Tom, you need to stop this laziness and focus on getting your life together." his father said sternly. Tom felt embarrassed and ashamed as his father scolded him but he knew he couldn't tell them the real reason behind his sleep deprivation.
His mother, noticing Tom's tiredness, asked him if he was feeling okay. She then suggested to him to go for a checkup after Tom said tried assuring he about his well being. "Maybe you should see a doctor, Tom," she said worriedly.
As Tom's mother suggested that he see a doctor, Emma rolled her eyes and scoffed. "A doctor? What are they going to do, give him some magic sleeping pills?" she said mockingly, causing Tom to feel even more frustrated.
As Emma made her snide comment, their mother looked at her with disapproval. "That's enough, Emma. It's not easy for Tom right now, and he needs our support," she scolded before turning to Tom. "But dear, have you considered seeing a doctor? It might help with your sleep problems."
Tom hesitated for a moment, thinking on how to convince hia mother as he knows that his problem was related to cultivation, and a doctor would not be able to help him. "No, I don't think that's necessary, Mom. I'll figure something out," he said quietly, avoiding his family's gaze.
Tom's mother looked at him with concern, but before she could say anything else, his father spoke up. "I agree with your mother, Tom. You should see a doctor and get some proper rest." he said, folding his newspaper and placing it on the table.
Emma and Eva, who had been quiet until now, snickered and exchanged amused glances. "A doctor for sleep problems? What a waste of time and money." Emma said sarcastically.
Tom felt a pang of frustration and annoyance rise in his chest at her words, even though he loves them alot, this was getting too much.
He knew that he couldn't rely on his family for support or guidance related to Cultivation since they don't even know about it, but it still hurt to be mocked and belittled by those closest to him.
But before he could respond, Eva stood up from the table and announced that she had to leave for her morning yoga class. Emma followed suit, making a snide comment about Tom's lack of discipline before leaving the room.
Tom's mother just sighed and gave him one last advice, "You should really take care of yourself, Tom. If this problem persists, you should see a doctor, okay? Don't ignore it."
Tom nodded, knowing that he couldn't tell his mother the truth about his condition. He watched as she gathered her things and left for work, leaving him alone with his father.
His father chuckled, "Tom, you look like you've been up all night chatting with a girlfriend. Don't tell me you've finally found someone?"
Tom rolled his eyes, "No, Dad. I haven't found anyone. I've just been dealing with some stuff lately."
"Well, maybe if you got along better with your sisters, they could introduce you to someone." his father joked, eliciting a laugh from Tom's mother.
Tom groaned inwardly at the thought. He couldn't imagine his sisters ever being helpful in that regard. "I think I'll pass on that one, Dad," he replied, trying to keep a straight face.
His father nodded understandingly, "I get it. We all go through tough times. But don't forget to take care of yourself, okay? You can't help anyone else if you're not in good shape yourself."
With that, his father grabbed his briefcase and headed out the door, leaving Tom alone with his thoughts.
Tom sat there for a few minutes, lost in thought. He couldn't help but feel frustrated and helpless about his situation. He was failing at cultivation, losing his loot in the dungeon, and his family didn't even know the truth.
Suddenly, a voice spoke up in his mind. It was the dragoness, finally breaking her silence. "Tom, we need to talk," she said firmly.
Tom was surprised but relieved at the same time. He had been wondering why the dragoness had been so quiet lately. "What is it?" he asked, trying to keep his voice calm.
The dragoness sighed, "Tom, the reason you failed in the dungeon is because you're too weak. You need to work on your cultivation if you want to be successful in there."
Tom felt a pang of disappointment and shame. He had been afraid this was the case, but hearing it confirmed still hurt. "I know," he said quietly. "But I've been trying so hard. I don't understand why I can't seem to make any progress."
