Chapter 1223 – Don’t Make Prophecies
“Huh?” Tang Yun’s eyes went wide, her face turning red- this Yushu sure was bold, what were the words coming out of her mouth!
“Shu, what are you saying? Don’t spread misinformation, Song Lingshan probably wouldn’t do that…” Mengyao had gotten misunderstood by Yushu once, when she was sucking out blood for Lin Yi- Yushu said that she was-! And so, thinking about, it, this Song Lingshan incident might’ve been misunderstood as well!
Plus, with what she knew of Lin Yi, even if Lingshan wanted to do that, Lin Yi might not let it happen! The two weren’t even that close yet, and Lin Yi wasn’t rushing to get laid- why would he fall for that? If Tang Yun were the one doing that, Mengyao might believe it, but Song Lingshan? It was unlikely!
“There aren’t any outsiders here anyway, no need to be afraid!” Yushu said without a care.
“Really?? That Song Lingshan’s that aggressive?” Xiaoxiao asked.
“Of course she isn’t!” Lin Yi patted Xiaoxiao’s small forehead helplessly, “Why are you believing what Shu says?”
“Why can’t she? I’m the famous Prophet Shu, the prophecies I make basically all come true!” Yushu said boldly.
“Shu, don’t make prophecies about that!” Mengyao glared. Lin Yi and Lingshan may not have anything going on now, but who knew how powerful this prophecy was?
“Ugh…” Yushu stuck out her tongue, realizing the problem with her words. Wasn’t she pushing Lin Yi with Lingshan?
“Alright, let’s talk about the orphanage,” Lin Yi pulled the topic back- this Yushu was getting out of hand!
If it were in the past, then it wouldn’t be much, but now that he had this weird, sort of intimate relationship with Lingshan… Even he blushed a bit and his heartbeat quickened a bit as Yushu spoke!
“Lin Yi’s right, let’s think about the donation,” Mengyao nodded, “Because of Xiaoxiao’s stuff yesterday I didn’t call dad- I’ll call now.”
“Yeah, tell Uncle Chu first.” Lin Yi nodded. “He could make some arrangements with the school, talk to Headmaster Ding about it. It’ll be more powerful than us doing it by ourselves.”
Mengyao took out her phone and called Pengzhan’s phone number.
“Yao Yao? What’s the matter?” Pengzhan was looking at files when his daughter called all of a sudden, surprising him.
Mengyao had always been a rather independent girl, and if it weren’t something big she wouldn’t usually call him. All these years in Songshan High, she only called when there was trouble. This was one of the things that made her different from other Misses.
“Dad, there’s something I’d like to ask your help with…” Mengyao said.
“Oh? Did something happen, my daughter? What do you need help with?” Pengzhan wasn’t expecting to hear words like this. Other than that time she wanted to kick Lin Yi out, Mengyao had never made requests like this before.
“Well, Shu and I are thinking of doing a charity event in school, uniting the strength of all the students to donate money to an orphanage,” Mengyao said.
“Donation event for an orphanage?” Pengzhan blinked, not quite catching on, “What orphange?”
“Well dad, you see…” Mengyao started talking to him about the things she saw at the orphanage.
“I see!” Pengzhan was a bit touched after hearing the words, “It seems like a donation event really is in order, with the living situation of those kids. But Yao Yao, have you thought that many of the students in the school aren’t very rich, most of them only have allowance from their families- even if they donate, they wouldn’t be able to give out too much? I’m thinking that all the funds from one school would only add up to a hundred or two hundred thousand, that’s small for an orphanage!”
“But, even if it’s small, it’d help them a lot!” Mengyao understood that, “It’s better than me donating alone, right?”
“Well… Alright, I’ll use Headmaster Ding’s name to send the invitation and invite some of the big names in the upper society- if they’re able to donate then we’d be able to get quite a sum for the orphanage! After all, the donations coming from them aren’t at the same level as one coming from students!”
“Oh?” Mengyao’s eyes lit up- her dad sure looked farther ahead, being the businessman he was! “That’s great! Then there’ll be a lot more donations!”
“Yes, I’ll talk to Old Ding about this,” Pengzhan said, “Right, Yao Yao, is Lin Yi fine?”
“Hm?” Mengyao blinked, looking at Lin Yi, “Yeah, he’s fine. Why?”
“Good- let him take the phone, I have something to tell him,” Pengzhan said.
Pengzhan was quite composed against the two Xiao brothers yesterday, but he still had some traces of worry. After all, they had the two Pis in their house!
Nothing else happened after the Xiao’s left yesterday, and there weren’t big movements in his company’s stocks, either. House Xiao was probably finding some way to get revenge, and he had to pay attention.
As long as Lin Yi wasn’t injured and in the hospital, House Chu was safe.
“Uncle Chu, what do you need to talk to me about?” Lin Yi took the phone.
“Yi, how are you? You said you were busy yesterday, so a lot of things weren’t clear. The House Xiao brothers came over, saying that some Mister Warrior went to Yao Yao’s house and beat you up until you went to the hospital?”
“Mister warrior? Hospital?” Lin Yi blinked, “The Xiaos went to you again?”
“That’s right, that was what happened…” Pengzhan was a bit confused at Lin Yi’s reaction. Were the Xiaos just bullshitting then? There was no Mister Warrior, and Lin Yi wasn’t hurt?
But their IQ wasn’t that low, right? Why would they come up with all this random stuff out of nowhere?
