Who told you I am an NPC

Ch. 43

Chapter : 43

Lane was in a daze. He could only see a tall figure walking towards him through a bloody haze.

Bounty hunter...

...

After finally managing to open the cell door, Yan Yunqing found that Uncle Lane had fainted as soon as he entered.

Lilian didn't need Yan Yunqing to say anything.

She had already proactively waved her magic wand and cast a healing spell on Lane.

After observing his vital signs, she informed Yan Yunqing:

"It's fine, he probably hasn't slept for a long time and just fainted from exhaustion."

Yan Yunqing carried him up.

At level twenty-eight, his constitution had increased a lot.

Although he still looked slender, the strength on his panel was not low.

Carrying an adult-sized man was not a problem at all.

Just as Yan Yunqing took a step, he heard footsteps in the distance.

It should be the guards returning.

With a light click of his tongue, Yan Yunqing's mind moved, and he detonated the outermost Fire Emblem.

A few screams and curses rang out.

Yan Yunqing asked Lilian: "You said just now that there are other passages here.

Can you find the approximate location?"

"Let me sense it." Lilian closed her eyes and felt the elements floating in the air. "Follow me."

Saying that, Lilian flew forward, and Yan Yunqing followed closely behind, carrying Lane.

They finally stopped in front of a completely ordinary wall.

There was no sign of a door at all, but Lilian was sure that the passage was here.

Yan Yunqing installed a lowest quality Fire Emblem on the wall, retreated to a corner, and detonated the Fire Emblem with his mana imprint.

With a loud bang, dirt and dust flew everywhere.

Yan Yunqing hid behind the corner and was not hit by the flying dirt.

He waved away the dust in the air and poked his head out to see that the wall where he had installed the Fire Emblem had been blown open.

Purple flames were burning on the ground, and a dark passage was revealed behind the wall.

There really was another passage here!

Hearing the approaching footsteps and the shouting of the guards, Yan Yunqing gritted his teeth, stepped over the purple flames, and ran towards the stairs in the passage.

It was unknown if his eyes were special, but Yan Yunqing could see in the dark as well as in normal light, completely unaffected.

On the contrary, he was a little afraid of strong light.

As Yan Yunqing walked a certain distance into the passage, he could hear the sound of fighting from that side.

Yan Yunqing tried his best to stick to the wall and move forward.

Finally, after exiting the stairs, he saw a group of people fighting together.

Coincidentally, the masked people fighting with the guards still had the words 'Blood Mist' above their heads.

Good grief, we meet again?

In total, Yan Yunqing had been in this capital city twice, and both times he had run into people from 'Blood Mist' while causing trouble. What a fateful connection they had!

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Yan Yunqing had already unilaterally decided that the other party was his friend.

Of course, as a friend, it was only right for them to be in the front, attracting firepower, so that he could leave smoothly.

Yan Yunqing told Lilian to hide well, and carried Lane while hugging the wall, quietly passing by from the side.

The battle over there was about to end.

He saw that there were only a few red dots left on the minimap.

He had to leave as soon as possible to avoid being caught by the people from 'Blood Mist'.

Yan Yunqing didn't think that just because the people from 'Blood Mist' had let him go once, they would be kind enough to let him go this time.

After all, the situation was different this time.

Last time, Yan Yunqing was clearly a persecuted beastman, but this time... would anyone believe that he had just wandered in by mistake?

If it were Yan Yunqing himself, he wouldn't believe that a stranger who suddenly appeared in such a secret place had nothing to do with it.

In fact, he was just passing by, but no one would believe it.

Anticipating a situation where he wouldn't be able to defend himself, Yan Yunqing's movements became more cautious, paying constant attention to his surroundings and the markers on the minimap.

Fortunately, the minimap had been updated after Yan Yunqing entered the passage and arrived here.

Now there were several places on the minimap that looked like exits. Yan Yunqing was prepared to take a gamble and try his luck first.

The journey wasn't long, but avoiding everyone's sight was quite difficult.

Yan Yunqing passed a corner and ran into a guard who was about to escape.

Before the other party could scream, he pounced, covered the other party's mouth, and slit his throat with a knife.

Warm blood splattered on his face.

Yan Yunqing's heart was as still as water, not a single ripple stirred.

Yan Yunqing seemed to be naturally suited to struggling in such a chaotic world.

Eighteen years of modern education had not made him a lawful good person at all.

Instead, he had become chaotic neutral... hmm, or maybe chaotic good.

If he were to go back now and take a psychological test, would he be diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder?

Yan Yun-qing pondered in his heart.

Forget it, he probably couldn't go back anyway.

If a player was too lawful good, they would die a miserable death.

Yan Yunqing never put shackles on himself. He did what he had to do.

The guard who had just fled was also heading in the same direction as Yan Yunqing.

He guessed that the exit he had chosen was probably the real one, otherwise why would even the fleeing guard choose this way?

Just as Yan Yunqing finally reached the exit and was about to rush out, he suddenly saw a small yellow dot appear in front of him on the minimap, right in the exit passage Yan Yunqing was about to enter.

Startled, Yan Yunqing quickly found a place to hide and held his breath, staring in that direction.

A figure slowly appeared, emerging from the dark passage.

The face hidden in the darkness gradually revealed itself—

Dressed in a tight-fitting black outfit, with bandages wrapped around his arms.

He wore a wide scarf around his neck, covering half of his face.

He wore a half-black mask, revealing a pair of black-brown eyes.

His hair, the same color as his eyes, was blown up by the wind in the passage.

His whole person exuded a murderous aura, like a drawn sword, extremely sharp.

His pace was not fast, but each step was huge.

Those long legs seemed to want to span a meter with each stride.

The moment he walked in, the several masked men who were still confronting the guards nearby stopped and looked at him, as if waiting for his orders.

The man's gaze swept across the space, his eyes indifferent, "Finish them all, leave no one alive."

"Yes!"

Hearing this voice, Yan Yunqing was startled.

No wonder this person looked a bit familiar. Wasn't this the man he had met in the tavern, the one who had grabbed the scruff of his neck, his fated weak spot!

Damn it, looking at the respectful attitude of the little yellow men around him, this guy was at least a small leader in 'Blood Mist'!

Lilian, who had been hiding in Yan Yunqing's hood, seemed to have suddenly sensed something and let out a soft "eh."

The man who was originally standing there instantly shot his gaze towards Yan Yunqing's direction, as sharp as an arrow, piercing through the darkness and shooting straight at him.

Yan Yunqing's heart skipped a beat.

He immediately squatted down, using the pillar in front of him to block his sound.

"Boss, did you find something?"

The masked man beside the man looked in the direction of his gaze, but could only see a patch of darkness.

The man narrowed his eyes, raised his hand to stop the other's inquiry, and with a long stride, walked towards the direction where Yan Yunqing was hiding.

The sound of his heels tapping on the ground gradually approached.

Yan Yunqing's heart was in his throat.

He glanced at Lane, who had been placed aside and was unconscious.

He pursed his lips, quickly pushed Lane towards the passage, and then used his role-playing skill.

He shrank into the state of a little black cat again and looked towards Lilian.

Lilian understood immediately.

Using the cover of the pillar, she immediately flew up high.

There was no place to hold onto in the air. It was impossible for a person to cling to the ceiling out of thin air.

Ordinary people would ignore the space above, which was a visual blind spot.

And Yan Yunqing, enduring the bloodline suppression, stiffly wagged his tail.

The man walked around the pillar, his muscles tensed, ready to attack at any moment. But he was met with the cat's eyes behind the pillar.

"...A cat?" The man was somewhat stunned.

Yan Yunqing stiffly licked his paw, pretending to be nonchalant.

He also knew that he had appeared in front of the other party twice, and now they were meeting in such an awkward place.

Even a fool would feel that something was wrong.

But he had no choice.

He could rely on his small size after role-playing to escape quickly, but Uncle Lane would have to be left behind.

Yan Yunqing was worried that this group of masked men would treat Uncle Lane as one of the guards and kill him with a finishing blow.

Then what had he been busy with all night? To completely kill Uncle Lane?

Yan Yunqing could only squat on the spot, enduring the bloodline suppression, to attract this man's attention and make him ignore the 'corpse' of Uncle Lane lying behind him.

Anyway, he was just an ignorant little cat.

They couldn't possibly make things difficult for a little cat, right!

The man frowned, looking at the familiar dark red eyes of the little black cat, and clicked his tongue softly.

"Boss, what's wrong? Did someone run out?"

The man waved his hand, looking down at the little black cat sitting there licking its fur, "It's nothing, you guys continue."

Yan Yunqing mimicked a cat's posture again, grooming the fur on his face, pretending to be a real cat. Finally, the gaze that had been focused on him, bringing him great pressure, disappeared.

Yan Yunqing breathed a sigh of relief.

The next second, his vision blurred, and the scruff of his neck, his fated weak spot, was lifted up again!

"Meow—" Yan Yunqing let out a mournful cry subconsciously, startling the other masked men around him.

"What's that sound? A child's cry?

Where's the child?"

A masked man closest to here was surprised, looked around, and cursed:

"These conscienceless bastards, did they use children to feed the demonic beasts?"

One of the masked men was beating up a guard. Hearing this, his movements became even more ruthless, "Damn it, I hate scum who prey on women and children the most in my life!

You all deserve to die!"

After saying that, he landed several punches on the guard's nose, causing the guard to bleed profusely. His head was almost smashed into mush.

"Speak! Where's the child!"

Guard (on the verge of death): I don't know! When did they ever use children to feed demonic beasts???

The man holding the scruff of the little black cat's neck chuckled, "It's fine, just a black cat, no children."

Yan Yunqing glared at the man: You're holding me again!!!

Yan Yunqing gritted his teeth, wishing he could rush up and bite the man, but unfortunately, being suppressed by his bloodline, he could only tuck his tail and be a cat.

Yan Yunqing's sharp eyes saw Lilian preparing to rush down to save him.

He quickly shot Lilian a look while the man wasn't paying attention.

Although he didn't know what level this man was, to be a small leader of a mysterious organization, he was definitely not weak. Lilian, who was more of a support type, might not be this man's opponent.

Anyway, he was just a little cat now.

This man couldn't possibly abuse a cat, right! Lilian should hide first, and when everyone's attention was no longer here, she should quickly take Lane and run.

He wondered if Lilian's small body could drag Lane...

Perhaps understanding Yan Yunqing's look, Lilian hesitated in mid-air.

She seemed to want to rush down, but was held back by Yan Yunqing's look.

After a long while, she could only glare fiercely at the back of the man's head.

From her expression, it seemed she wanted to tear this man apart...?

Yan Yunqing was puzzled:

Why does Lilian have such great hostility towards a stranger?

Could they have known each other before?

Yan Yunqing's scattered thoughts came to a halt when the man held him in his arms.

This damned bloodline suppression...

This damned dog... stay away from him!
