Michael took a deep breath. There was a lot to take in, especially because he hadn't been able to check out his Status Screen while fighting Veilthar. He started from the top. His Level had increased considerably because of all the Forgotten he'd defeated, though not as much as he expected. Once he reached the sixties, the XP required to Level up had increased massively, enough to overcome the XP buffs he got from purifying the consumed Villages. To top it all off, Veilthar's death had awarded him no XP, and even if the System planned to do so, his rewards for clearing the Abyss were locked until the Tutorial ended.
Shaking his head, he lowered his gaze. His Race had changed back when he had awoken his Majesty. He brought up his new Race's window.
[Race
Draconic Human (C): a human who has awakened to the true potential of his blood of ancient Dragons, awakened from his slumber by countless life-and-death trials. While humans are the most numerous of all Races in existence, those descended from Dragons are extremely few. The Race's rank will gradually increase as the descendant adapts to the draconic lineage.
Perks: +15 to all ordinary Stats, +25 to Wisdom. Significantly higher proficiency in wielding all kinds of magic.
Per Level: +6 to all Stats, +2 Skill Point, +6 Free Stat Points.]
It had skipped the D-rank, going straight to C. In terms of stats, the improvement was a small one, enough to make him raise an eyebrow. However, Michael was willing to bet that this Race's greatest boon lay among its Perks.
'Significantly higher' must mean something.
It was likely that there was more to this simple description than it seemed. He hadn't tested out his full prowess since leaving the Abyss yet, and even then, he didn't have a firm grasp on his abilities because of Veilthar's overwhelming power. His current level was unknown even to him, but he was certain that this Race was a powerful one. Apart from the magic-related Perk, the Race also offered two Skill Points per Level instead of one. It was a seemingly small difference, but Michael fully understood how great it was.

From now on, Leveling will slow down. The more Skill Points I get per Level, the better.
His experience with Leveling in the Consumed Territory had been telling enough. He needed all the Skill Points he could get, even though the Skill selections happened at set Levels. It was highly likely that the number of Skills offered in each selection would also increase over time, since he was developing steadily, increasing the value of Skill Points even more. Michael couldn't help but wonder what it was like for those without this draconic boon. He nodded to himself, satisfied with the changes to his Race.
He dismissed the window and continued on his way down his Status Window. His eyebrows twitched once he laid his gaze on his stats. He stared at them for a few seconds.
…They're not supposed to be this high.
Taking into account the stats he gained per Level, especially because his Leveling process had happened before he entered the Abyss, his stats were too high. Still, he knew why this was the case. His two most important Titles had changed, so it was only natural for their bonuses to have followed suit, and when added up with the 10% his Majesty gave him, those were the results. He would check those Titles out soon enough. His gaze was drawn to a stat that hadn't existed before. He stared at the Will stat and its pitifully low value.
What do you even do?
Even now, he wasn't completely sure of what this stat did. The information about it had been burned into his mind the moment he awakened the Majesty, but that didn't mean he fully understood everything it did. The Will stat was the most critical trait of his Majesty, despite its powerful buffs and other abilities. It was the stat that measured his ability to 'defy the rules and restrictions' imposed by other entities or by the System itself. How that translated into effective power, Michael still didn't know. All he could tell was that the stat contained immeasurable potential, and it was his responsibility to develop it. Nodding to himself, he hesitantly moved on.
There was no need to check out the Rune of Shadows' information, which he already knew by heart, much like that about his Majesty.
Michael scanned his Skills. The only new addition to his Active Skills was Dual Casting, which he had achieved after enduring Veilthar's hellish training for an unknown amount of time. When it came to his Passive Skills, however, he had acquired three more. Pain Resistance was self-explanatory and had likely been acquired because of all the injuries he'd suffered in his battle against the Umbra. Durability improved the effectiveness of his unreasonably high Constitution, while Resilience amplified the effects of healing magic and boosted his recovery speed. Overall, they were good Skills.
Finally, he reached his Titles. His gaze lingered on Remembrance for a few seconds. The thought that he might be the only one who still remembered the names of the Forgotten he'd slain gave him pause.
I'll continue to remember you.
Michael waved his hand, bringing up the information about his two Titles that had changed.
[Title
Dragon's Descendant: you have proven the worth of your determination. You are the descendant of an ancient, almost forgotten Race that stood at the pinnacle of magic. The Dragon blood flowing through your veins has changed you, giving you unprecedented power. Through your bitter struggles against death, you have realized the depth of your lineage. By awakening your Majesty, you have solidified yourself as a true descendant.
Effects: +50 Wisdom, +30 Constitution, +2 Will, +30% Wisdom, +10% Intelligence, +8% Constitution.
* This Title's effects will change alongside your Majesty.]
"Damn," he whispered under his breath.
So that was why those three stats had increased by so much. The percentage values had increased, when it came to Wisdom and Intelligence, or had been altogether created, in Constitution's case. The second most important thing was the line about how the Title would change alongside his Majesty. Right now, the description didn't mention his Will stat or 'defiance' in any way, but Michael guessed that it was only a matter of time. Michael looked at the other System window.
[Title
Draconic Blessing: very few throughout the entirety of history managed to become friends with the Dragons. Even fewer received their Blessings. You are one of the chosen, and you have proven yourself as deserving of this Blessing. You may now receive the Blessing's full power. May your heart never waver.
Effects: +15% Intelligence, +10% all other stats.
* Your unique 'Will' stat isn't affected.]
He almost scoffed at the nonsensical increase to Intelligence and even all his stats.
At least this one acknowledges my unique stat.
With a deep sigh, Michael waved his hand. All System windows disappeared. He raised his gaze to the timer close to the underground's ceiling. There were just three minutes left.
"Michael," Allison said from the side, a bit further behind him, making him look at her over his shoulder. "Remember what we discussed. If we don't end up together, just stay safe."
He nodded seriously.
"Of course. I'll find you guys no matter what. But I think we'll spawn close to each other."
Allison furrowed her brow.
"What does 'spawn' mean?"
Michael blinked and grinned at her.
"It just means 'appear.'"
"Then why didn't you say 'appear' instead of 'spawn'? You knew I wouldn't know the meaning behind that word."
Michael was left speechless by her question. He only shook his head and looked back at the timer. Further in the back, his friends chucked at him.
"We'll be fine, Mom," he said as he stared at the timer. "I'll make sure of it."
His friends went silent, as did his mother.
"…For a while now, I've felt like you're trying to shoulder the burdens of the entire world. You don't have to be the one to do everything, son," Allison said after a few seconds with mixed emotions in her voice. She moved a bit closer to him and placed her hand on his own.
In response, Michael only smiled bitterly without saying anything. The timer kept ticking down. Soon, there was less than a minute left.
"Stay safe, all of you," Michael abruptly said loudly. "Or at least try to. I don't know where we're going, but let's just follow the plan."
They had already discussed extensively what they would do once the Tutorial ended, regardless of where they ended up. They made plans about what to do if they ended up completely separated, separated into duos or trios, and whatever else variation they could think of. The first priority would be to stay safe, and the second would be to join up with as many of the others as possible. In the lines of the second priority, the most important person to find was Michael himself, who was much stronger than all of them put together. As his thoughts reached this point, Michael frowned.
It was true that he was the strongest in their group, very likely in the entire Tutorial, but hearing his friends value finding him above finding the others had left a bitter aftertaste, even though he rationally agreed with it. He sighed.
Ten seconds left.
Time ticked down. Michael held his mother's hand tightly. Finally, the timer reached zero. Michael blinked.
Once he opened his eyes again, he was in a land of white light.
