The Mob Priest Will Raise the Heroine

Ch. 226

Chapter 226

"Well then, Clael-sama. Good night."

"Yes, good night."

And thus, the enjoyable yet disastrous dinner came to an end.

That night, they parted ways, and Clael took a carriage taxi to drop Reina off at the shrine before returning to the staff dormitory.

By the time he arrived at the dorm, it was already close to midnight.

The guard standing outside let him through with a face pass, and he headed to his room.

"I'm home—"

"Kuma kuma."

"Ah, thanks for watching the place."

The plushie bear greeted Clael as he returned home.

The bear, who had come all the way to the entrance, was even wearing an apron courteously.

Clael let out a sigh and closed the door, making sure to lock it properly.

"Good grief......"

"Kuma?"

Seeing Clael looking somewhat exhausted, the bear tilted its head curiously.

"Ah... something a bit troublesome happened. But I didn't get hurt or anything, so don't worry."

"Kuma—kuma kuma."

"Yeah, you're right. I'll just take a shower and go to bed early today."

When Clael took off his tuxedo, the bear took it from him.

By tomorrow, it would probably be washed and even ironed. As always, Clael was impressed at what a truly capable and excellent bear it was.

Clael entered the bathroom, took a shower, and quickly got into bed.

"Haa... today was really something..."

He never imagined he'd experience being attacked by terrorists.

He missed dessert two times in a row, and maybe Clael was just unlucky.

(Rather than bad luck, maybe he's just used it all up on something else... well, who knows.)

After all, being reincarnated in another world is an extremely rare experience.

It might be inevitable that he carries a fate more unusual than others.

(I mean, I met my favorite heroine and got to raise her. It's not surprising if my luck is a bit worse in other areas.)

With that reasoning, Clael convinced himself... and decided to drift off to sleep.

But... just before he fully fell asleep, something popped into his mind.

"Ah, I didn't pay."

Come to think of it... he hadn't paid at the restaurant.

Apparently, he had unintentionally dined and dashed.

With all that panic, it felt like he might be forgiven for not paying... but it was a high-end restaurant.

The amount was enough to feel guilty about skipping out on, and since he had made a reservation, they definitely knew his name.

(Given what happened, they probably won't come to collect... but still.)

Lying in bed, Clael groaned, "Ugh..."

Even if he left it unpaid, it probably wouldn't be a problem.

In fact, since they'd let a terrorist in due to a security issue, they might even send an apology.

"Well, what's done is done. I'll just send the money by mail..."

There's no point in agonizing over something that's already happened.

It'd be troublesome if they started asking a bunch of questions... so he'd just mail the money.

He decided never to go near that restaurant again and to pay for the meal indirectly.

"Now that that's settled... time to sleep..."

He had the day off tomorrow.

Lately, both work and personal life had been hectic.

He decided to spend the day relaxing for the first time in a while.

With that decision in his heart, Clael finally set off for the world of dreams.
