The Mob Priest Will Raise the Heroine

Ch. 250

Chapter 250

Although they had just witnessed the shocking sight of one of the main characters and a student at the academy being swallowed by snow, Clael and Reina had reached the summit of the snowy mountain.

He was concerned about Vincent, but there was no way he could've died from that. It might seem cold, but they decided to leave him be.

(Well, if we interrupt his training, he'll just get mad at us anyway... Yeah.)

Since he came to the mountains to train and improve himself, he should be prepared for accidents like that.

If he wasn't, then it was simply a lack of preparation on his part. It was Vincent's own responsibility, and not something he could blame anyone else for.

"Lord Clael, is something wrong?"

"No... It's nothing."

Shaking his head at Reina, who had leaned in to peer at his face, Clael cleared his throat, regaining his composure.

"Alright then... So, we're going to start skiing now. Do you remember what I taught you earlier?"

"Of course. Don't go too fast at first. I'm supposed to ski in a wedge shape, right?"

There are several ways to ski... but for beginners, the first technique they learn is called the 'snowplow'. It's a basic method where you slide slowly while applying the brakes.

"Yes, don't rush and don't push yourself. Let's take it slow... Just in case, Guard Up."

Clael cast a support magic on Reina to boost her defense.

Even if they did get injured, Clael or Reina could just use Healing Magic to take care of it.

Still, it was better not to get hurt in the first place.

"Then, in return... Guard Up."

Reina also cast a support magic on Clael.

Clael didn't really need it, being experienced and all... but it felt wrong to say that to Reina, who had the face of a loving mother.

"Thank you... Alright, let's go."

Taking the lead to demonstrate, Clael began to ski down the slope.

His skis sliced through the snow, and the cold air brushed against his cheeks.

It had been so long since he last skied that he couldn't even remember, but it was just like riding a bike. Once you learned how, you never really forgot.

"Wah...!"

"Are you okay, Reina?"

"Yes... Amazing, this is a totally new feeling...!"

Reina was clearly nervous, but she was managing to ski without falling.

It seemed there was no need to worry after all.

She might have been inexperienced, but her core was stable, and she was skiing smoothly.

The two of them reached the base of the mountain safely, albeit at a slightly slow pace.

"Coming all the way down without falling once—impressive."

"It's all thanks to you, Lord Clael... Still, that was so much fun."

Reina's cheeks were flushed as she spoke in a bright, excited voice.

"Skiing on snow is really fun. It's a totally different feeling from flying through the sky!"

"Yeah... Wait, flying through the sky?"

He felt like she had said something strange.

Clael tilted his head.

"Yes. I've flown with wings before, but this is my first time skiing down a snowy mountain. Flying is faster, so this feels a bit slow, but... it's fun in its own way!"

White wings suddenly spread out from Reina's back.

Now that he thought about it... he'd forgotten, but Reina could fly by spreading her wings like an angel.

"That was thrilling and fun. Want to go again?"

"...Yeah, sure."

No matter how he looked at it, flying through the sky seemed more thrilling and fun... but pointing that out would probably make him lose.

"Yeah, don't think about it. Don't think about it..."

"Ah, the lift looks crowded. Shall we fly back up? Please come with me, Lord Clael. Don't worry, I'll use a barrier to make us invisible so we won't stand out."

"Don't think about it, don't think about it... Yeah, I can't do it!"

"Alright, here we go—"

Reina gently held Clael, who was muttering to himself, and flew them both back up to the summit.

He couldn't quite put it into words, but something about this felt very wrong... Still, Clael convinced himself that he was enjoying two activities at once.
