Obscure Op: Survive As Fallen Noble With Gunsmith Skill In Eroge World

Chapter 61 - Chitose? Why She Here!

"Ugh, so troublesome..."

"This is really troublesome, Amelia."

"Having to find someone who survived the GECAL 50 attack... is so fucking difficult."

"Can't you reduce the total number of bandits I killed?"

By mumbling, and not expecting an answer from the Goddess of War, I continued driving the Humvee through the bushes in front of me.

The tall bushes connected to the site of a one-sided massacre, none other than a pile of human corpses that had received a hail of bullets from the GECAL 50's weapons system.

Brrruummm...

As I kept my foot on the gas pedal and continued driving straight through the bushes, I had to make sure the sight I was about to see wasn't too horrifying for my younger stepsister and stepmother.

"Liliana..."

"Vivian..."

"What you're about to see will be disgusting and horrifying."

"I just killed a group of bandits hiding behind these bushes."

"Before this vehicle leaves the bush, you'd better close your eyes. The pile of freshly killed human corpses will be disgusting."

With a command to close their eyes, Vivian and Liliana stared at each other, as if they didn't understand what I meant.

For a normal person, such words would be difficult to understand.

But for someone who has experienced numerous front-line battles and seen piles of still-warm corpses, I'd say I'm quite used to such disgusting sights.

My stepsister and stepmother still looked confused by my words. It wasn't until the Humvee I was driving passed through the thick bush that they understood what I was saying.

"KYYAAA!!"

"HIIIYYYAA!!"

Liliana and Vivian were started the scream that pierced my ears.

Right behind the driver's seat, they were both screaming so loudly that I instinctively covered my ears with my hands.

"I warned you, please don't scream like that!" I shouted, loud enough to drown out their screams. But it was no use. Their screams were much louder, drowning out my voice.

"Forgive me for being so presumptuous, Madam and Young Miss!" Melissa immediately did something that silenced Liliana and Vivian.

Buugghh!!

Buugghh!!

What Melissa did was a simple method of rendering someone unconscious with a light blow to the nape of the neck. I say light because Melissa was gentle and upheld her honor as a maid while doing it.

From the rearview mirror above my head, I could see Melissa lying on my stepsister's and stepmother's bodies, soundly unconscious in the back seat.

"I feel helped by this."

"Thank you, Mell," I said, thanking Melissa for taking care of my younger stepsister and stepmother until I passed out in a comfortable position.

Melissa smiled and sat back down in the driver's seat.

Her gaze lingered on me, as if wanting to talk about something.

"Is something wrong, Mell?" I asked, focusing my gaze on the pile of freshly deceased bodies.

"There are some things I'm thinking about right now, Master Hans."

"Unusually, would you care to tell me about them?"

"Is that okay? Then... I won't hesitate to ask."

"Yes, I know you'll ask about this in the future, and that future... is now, isn't it?"

I could understand what Melissa was going to ask.

It would undoubtedly be related to my attitude and behavior, which were different from those of the previous Hans. The questions would also extend to the firearms and the vehicle Melissa was riding in.

While Melissa didn't particularly question Hans's current identity, it would feel strange not to ask.

Liliana and Vivian were also relatively silent about this, but with her instincts as a former Master Assassin, Melissa wouldn't remain silent about this.

"Ugh, I don't know if it important or not... judging by Master Hans's calm response to seeing a pile of bodies like this, I'm sure... the current Master Hans is used to seeing corpses."

"Well, that's because I worked as Doctor Portia's Assistant before. So seeing piles of bodies like this is a common occurrence," I replied, giving a logical answer appropriate to the circumstances.

"Is that the answer from the current Master Hans... or another Master Hans?" Melissa continued, trying to get a specific answer to her question.

"I think... from the current Hans," I replied, a confession slipping from my lips.

"Fufu~ I like this answer, my beloved, current Master Hans," Melissa said, running her fingers over my cheek.

"..." I paused and pressed the brake pedal to stop the Humvee.

"Mell, can you find a single survivor from the previous hail of bullets?" I asked Melissa, while grabbing the HK-416 that was leaning against the driver's seat.

"That's easy, Master Hans," Melissa replied, rising from her seat and opening the hatch to exit from the roof.

Swuuuttt...

With quick and agile movements, Melissa immediately set off in search of anyone still alive after receiving the hail of .50 BMG bullets.

I don't know what kind of luck this person has, but a hail of .50 BMG bullets isn't something that can be avoided easily. If someone is lucky enough in life, they're definitely not ordinary.

BAAMM!!

From inside the Humvee, I suddenly heard a loud sound coming from Melissa's unsuppressed pistol. I immediately stepped on the gas pedal to approach Melissa, who was standing in the distance.

[ Total number of bandits to defeat: 200/200 ]

"Huh? Why it is done?"

"That was so fast!"

"Well, it wasn't in vain to have a loyal maid who was a former Master Assassin. Her works so fast, huh?" I praised Melissa for her job well done.

The Humvee I was driving approached Melissa, who stood in silence. Even from my position near Melissa, I saw it as if she were observing something that caught her attention.

As the Humvee approached Melissa, I saw what Melissa was looking at.

Right in front of Melissa, I could see a girl sitting on a cushion, with four swords neatly arranged on a wooden shelf beside her.

"What am I looking at?" I muttered as I stopped the Humvee I was driving next to Melissa.

Brraaaakkk...

I immediately pulled the handbrake and got out of the Humvee to meet Melissa.

Melissa glanced at me as if to say, "Is this human?"

As soon as I saw the figure that had captured Melissa's attention, I was speechless, as memories of her swirled through my mind.

Long, captivating black hair...

Her calm demeanor, like gentle water...

Her agile movements in battle, like sharp lightning bolts...

The various sharp katana-type weapons she carried, like someone obsessed with using katana...

There was no mistaking it.

The person I often used as the Main DPS in the main character's party was her... Chitose!

However...

Why is she in a place like this?

I turned to look at Melissa with a questioning look in my eyes, "Do you know this young woman?"

Unfortunately, Melissa shook her head, as if she hadn't known the young woman from her time as a Master Assassin.

"Well, I don't know her either," I said before Melissa could say anything else.

I did know her well from the eroge game, but as an NPC named Hans, I wasn't brave enough to approach or get to know her. Too dangerous!

"Let's leave this girl in a place like this. Judging by the situation, she has no connection to these bandits," I continued, turning around and making my way to the Humvee.

Krrruunnyyuukk...

As I turned to walk towards the Humvee, I heard Chitose's stomach growl.

Although she was pretending to be sitting still, she seemed to be starving and unable to move in her current position.

"Ugh, this is going to be a hassle," I grumbled and glanced at Melissa.

"Do we still have any food left to give to others?" I asked Melissa.

"There's still some left, Master Hans. To share with others, especially a young girl like her... it should be enough to last for a few days," Melissa replied, glancing at Chitose, who looked suspicious in her eyes.

"Did you hear that?" I said, glancing at Chitose, who was sitting still, starving.

The moment I said that, Chitose's black eyes opened and glared at me.

"I'm not your enemy... so don't stare at me like that!" I grumbled in an irritated tone and continued walking towards the Humvee.

As I sat in the driver's seat, I suddenly remembered one of Chitose's side stories. She said she was undergoing extreme training to master four different katana techniques.

In one of those side stories, Chitose's current outfit was strikingly similar to the one in the side story.

"Is this a coincidence?" I muttered weakly.

"I don't think it's a coincidence," replied an unfamiliar voice.

Krrruuunnyyuuukkk...

Chitose was suddenly in the back seat, undetected by me. Even Melissa looked confused after seeing Chitose shift position so quickly. If it weren't for the sound of her hungry stomach, I wouldn't have noticed her presence in the back seat of the Humvee.

I could't understand this!

Chitose is one of the strongest heroines, ranking high in both single DPS and multi-DPS. As a heroine with high combat skills, her movements were undoubtedly faster than Melissa's.

Yes, that was understandable.

But, how could a first-tier character at the peak of her powers lose to a hunger?

Yeah, it will became a mystery later.

"I-Is that so?" I replied, breaking out in a cold sweat.

Baaamm...

Baaamm...

Melissa and I quickly closed the Humvee door and returned to the refugee camp.

During the journey home, which traversed the steep and rocky forest road, I occasionally glanced at Chitose, comfortably seated in the back seat with my younger stepsister and stepmother.

The four types of katana she carried were tightly held in her arms, and the sound of her hungry stomach was a beautiful melody that broke the silence of the journey home.

"P-Please don't look at me like that."

"Being stared at like that while I'm hungry... I feel embarrassed as a girl," Chitose said softly, lowering her head.
