Her lips curved slightly. "It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. Tell me, demon, are you curious about what lies beyond the Divine World? Do you want to know what's waiting for you?"
Her laughter was soft, almost playful, yet the air seemed to grow heavier with every note, as though the sound itself was weighing down on the soul.
The unremarkable young man's eyes widened at her words.
Curiosity burned in them, a fire that he struggled to suppress. His gaze, sharp and unblinking, locked onto Kathryn.
"You call me a demon. I have no problem with that." He clasped his hands together and smiled faintly. "Fellow Daoist, please satisfy my curiosity."
Kathryn let out a light chuckle at his response.
Then she sneered, her tone carrying a blade's edge. "I'm not interested. Do you think it's that easy to deal with the Divine Illusion Eyes?"
Kranos, who had been listening intently to every word, eager to hear something about the world above the Divine World, felt his expectations shatter. She did not continue.
He could not refute her words, however. Having once fought a hundred God King Realm cultivators, Kranos understood the terrifying nature of Kathryn.
Back then he was fighting with his life on the line, constantly feeling as though he was about to die.
In the end he still did, however having endured such danger and horrific situation kranos could relate quite well with kathryn's words
The others, too, felt the weight of disappointment. None of them had wanted to hear her refusal, for their thirst for knowledge of the realm above was just as fierce.
With a casual wave of her hand, Kathryn caused a thunderous explosion to erupt in the unremarkable young man's perception.
Instantly, a swarm of God Realm cultivators appeared in the skies above him. Their killing intent was sharp enough to cut through air itself.
Of course, the others could not see what he was seeing. They only noticed a solemn, calculating look in the eyes of the divine cultivator.
The divine cultivator spread his arms, his divine energy and aura rippling outward. In the next instant, a crushing wave of gravity descended upon the God King Realm cultivators arrayed before him.
Realizing the danger of the situation, he did not hesitate. He unleashed his personally crafted divine technique.
Gravity surged outward in a violent wave, and in the blink of an eye, every one of the cultivators in its reach was crushed into fine dust.
In that moment, the young man had increased the gravitational pull within their very bodies by a millionfold.
The act came at a great cost. More than half of his divine energy reserves had been drained. He could feel his body's strain, knowing he could only use this technique one more time.
"Kathryn! You cannot kill me! No matter what, I am a transmigrated divine cultivator. It is impossible for a regressed anomaly like you to end me!"
Canceling the remaining aftershocks of his own attack, he turned to Kathryn and shouted.
She chuckled again, her smile deepening.
"No wonder you couldn't enter that world. Your arrogance is… almost cute."
Her gaze sharpened. "I should thank you. Let me show you the true horror of the Divine Illusion Eyes."
With a flick of her wrist, Kathryn caused the very space surrounding the divine cultivator to warp and change.
His eyes went wide in disbelief as the world around him twisted.
"My… my divine ability!" His voice cracked in panic.
To his horror, Kathryn had perfectly replicated his own technique, increasing the gravity around him—and within every cell of his body—by a millionfold.
Panic consumed him.
"Was the gap truly so vast? Even after cultivating for ten thousand years, am I still unable to defeat a regressed anomaly from that world?"
This was his final thought before the crushing gravity obliterated him completely.
Kathryn grinned, her eyes sweeping over the remaining figures.
"The Scarlet Moon Organization… so many of you came for the treasure. But tell me, old man, did you really come just for that?"
Her gaze held a strange glint as she studied the gathered members.
A laugh rang out from within the group of ten God Realm cultivators. One of them stepped forward, his movements slow and deliberate.
He was a young man with dark brown hair and eyes of a sharp, oceanic blue. A faint, knowing smile lingered in his gaze.
"I knew you would recognize me, regressed anomaly…" he said. As his voice trailed off, his face melted away, revealing a black mask beneath.
"As expected of the Black Mask." Kathryn did not seem surprised. Her tone was steady, as if addressing a familiar acquaintance. "Librarian, what are you doing here?"
"No, not you," she continued before he could respond. "If it were truly you, I would have already left. I am not your match—not yet. This is only a clone, isn't it?"
Her eyes narrowed. "Did you truly think you could stop me with just a clone? You and I have crossed paths in the future, and I must say, I did not expect you to resort to such measures."
The Librarian frowned beneath his mask. This was the troublesome part about regressed anomalies—they might have already encountered you in a future timeline, armed with knowledge of your secrets.
Yet he was not overly concerned. Having dealt with many regressed anomalies before, he had grown accustomed to their foresight. Over time, he had cultivated the habit of revealing as little about himself as possible.
"You are correct, little girl… or should I call you fellow Daoist?" His voice was calm. "I came here prepared, thanks to something I recently obtained."
"I call it the Immortal Annihilating Finger."
His tone darkened. "It is my only trump card. After I use it, I will no longer have the means to kill you. You may slaughter the rest, even destroy this clone of mine. It will make no difference."
The moment she heard the name Immortal Annihilating Finger, Kathryn's pupils contracted sharply.
She knew exactly what it meant.
"Something from a forbidden holy ground…" Her voice held a trace of genuine shock.
It was said that the Immortal Annihilating Finger could kill immortals outright. Kathryn was only at the Monarch Realm, and though she was a regressed anomaly, her power was far from touching the true Immortal Realm.
The Immortal Realm was the peak of the immortal world, and those who reached it could step into the Divine World at will through the Divine Path. The sheer scale of such strength was beyond imagining.
The Librarian reached into his robe and retrieved an object.
When he revealed it, Kranos noticed it looked almost like an ordinary finger, yet the air around it distorted faintly, as though reality itself bent away from it.
The Librarian tossed it toward Kathryn and bowed politely. From beneath the mask came his faint voice.
"Fellow Daoist, please survive this."
The moment his words faded, the finger shot forward at lightning speed. Yet to Kranos and the others, it seemed impossibly slow, almost crawling, their perception unable to reconcile what they were seeing.
When it reached Kathryn, the skies roared in response. Thunder crackled above, and clouds thickened until they blotted out the heavens.
From within the churning clouds, something emerged.
It was a colossal finger, more than a thousand times larger than any human's. Its presence bent space wherever it passed.
Lightning danced along its length, striking the ground in violent bursts, each bolt carrying the oppressive might of the God King Realm.
Kranos stared up at it, his heart pounding in dread. His time essence could not even touch something of this magnitude. His power was meaningless before it.
A deep, primal horror welled in his chest.
Aurora's eyes were wide with disbelief. "Can Master defend against that? It's… too big."
Even the Scarlet Moon Organization members, hardened as they were, felt awe rising in their hearts. This attack, they believed, would erase the anomaly once and for all.
Kevin's expression was twisted with fear. Every instinct screamed at him to protect his sister, but the weight of the finger's aura crushed even his will to move. Never before had he felt so powerless.
Kathryn's gaze rose to the heavens. For a moment, her brow furrowed. Then, slowly, it smoothed.
Why should she worry?
So this was his trump card.
"Librarian," her voice rang out, "do you wish to see the true extent of my strength? Then I will show you. Let my Divine Illusion Eyes reveal to you a fraction of my true power!"
The skies split apart.
From within the tear, a colossal figure began to form.
Because of the illusion's sheer size, everyone present was drawn into it, forced to witness what came next.
The heavens erupted with countless heavenly phenomena—blazing suns, cascading rivers of stars, and ancient runes swirling in the air.
The eyes of all the cultivators present widened in shock, in awe… and in despair.
