Somewhere else, a young lady opened her eyes and gazed at the vast expanse of space stretching endlessly before her.
"Master, they are all dead," the young woman with flowing hair said with a smile. Her long locks drifted weightlessly around her in the thin cosmic air, catching faint glimmers of distant starlight.
She studied her master's expression, her eyes glinting with curiosity.
The flawless beauty sitting midair in a lotus position slowly opened her eyes and returned the smile.
Her skin seemed carved from the finest jade, smooth and luminous, while her long silver robes floated gently around her.
Even seated, she exuded a serene majesty that made the surrounding void feel like her personal throne room.
"That is very good, Aurora. Thankfully your null physique has this technique. If not, I do not know what I would have done if you had died." The flawless beauty glanced at Aurora, her gaze deep and mysterious, as though it contained countless thoughts and lifetimes.
Aurora let out a light laugh.
"It was not easy, Master. I had to undergo six deaths before finding the perfect solution, with Kranos, Kathryn, and everyone else dying. Now I am the ultimate victor."
Hearing this, the flawless beauty nodded.
"When you told me that your null physique had granted you the time ability of regression, I was startled. Such a thing has never occurred in the Black Rain Pavilion before. You are truly exceptional, Aurora."
Aurora beamed at her master's words, but soon her expression dimmed.
"But Master, I have already regressed six times just to ensure Kathryn's elimination. Now I have only three chances left. After that, if I am killed, I will truly die."
Her voice carried a trace of gloom.
The flawless beauty remained indifferent.
"That is not something to worry about. We only need to find another time cultivator who can regress. Once you encounter such a person, you will be able to obtain the regression ability again."
Aurora's eyes brightened. "As expected of Master, you are always right."
"In that case, Master, will you finally make a move on the Immortal Worlds?"
The flawless beauty was silent for a moment before shaking her head.
"My time for cultivation has passed. There is nothing left for me to explore. However, it is time for you to explore the Immortal Worlds."
Aurora was stunned. She knew her master had never intended to let her enter the Immortal Worlds because of their danger.
"You need not worry. Your sister will accompany you. She should return in about a year. Be patient and train during this time. After that, you may act freely. I will not give you a protection talisman, as you still have three chances to regress."
"After facing danger the first and second time, return to the Pavilion. During this period, your goal is to seek out time cultivators, especially regressors. Although they are extremely rare, you should be able to find them with enough time."
Hearing this, Aurora sighed, her mind drifting to the youth with silver eyes and hair. His aura, which had transcended the Immortal World, was unforgettable.
'Has he truly died?' she wondered. A faint suspicion lingered in her heart, but there was no way to confirm it.
Perhaps Kranos was gone for good.
In the other timelines, the Immortal World had not been destroyed. But this time, it had. There was no way he could have survived such destruction.
'Goodbye, Kranos.'
…
Aurora was right in thinking there was no way Kranos should have survived the explosion of the Immortal World.
In truth, he almost had not. Almost.
What she had not considered was that Kranos had slain two anomalies. Even the will of the Immortal Heavenly Dao was unwilling to let him perish.
A young man with pale silver eyes slowly opened them and took in his surroundings.
Shock rippled through him as he realized he was surrounded by endless, pitch-black darkness.
It was a darkness without depth — a suffocating absence that seemed to swallow even the concept of distance.
The air, if there was any, was still and stale, unmoving. There was no sound, no wind, no warmth. Only an oppressive emptiness that pressed against his skin as though the void itself wished to consume him.
Looking into the vast distance, he found nothing at all. No stars, no light, no landmarks. It was as though he were the last soul in existence, drifting in a graveyard where even the tombstones had been erased.
A wave of deep, bone-chilling loneliness swept over him, threatening to gnaw at the edges of his sanity.
However the memories of when he was partaking in the trial for a chaos cycle resurfaced in his mind. He had lived through that trial as if it were real, experiencing it with his body and soul.
Drawing from those memories, he kept his mind steady, avoiding panic.
He recalled the final words of what he believed to be the Eye of the Immortal Heavenly Dao before the world's destruction.
'I will guide you…? Guide me to where?' Kranos wondered, baffled. All around him was a boundless emptiness with nothing in sight.
In the midst of his confusion, with no landmarks or direction, he could only drift forward.
'It seems I am in the Void,' he thought. The familiar energy of the same Void that had destroyed the Immortal World pulsed faintly around him.
Thankfully, the golden light bestowed upon him by the Immortal Heavenly Dao clung to his body like a second skin, shielding him from the Void's corrosive hunger.
As he floated forward, boredom and unease gnawed at him in equal measure.
So, he began to cultivate.
Here, there was no sense of time or space. The concept of "before" and "after" blurred, replaced by a constant now. The darkness pressed around him, but when he closed his eyes and focused inward, he could feel something else.
The moment he entered meditation, he was stunned to discover that time energy here was unimaginably abundant.
It surged around him like invisible rivers, each current humming with the weight of eternity. It dwarfed even the energy found at the heart of the World Tree in the elven realm.
His eyes widened, and joy flashed through them.
He was currently in the Time Palace Realm. Cultivating here, he could likely break through to the Time Monarch Realm, or perhaps even reach the Time God Realm, depending on how long he remained.
'This is truly a blessing in disguise.' His heart swelled with excitement.
Previously, he had believed it would take him a long time to reach the Time Monarch Realm. But here, it was possible to achieve it far sooner.
'I should take my time and focus on cultivation. There is no way back to the Immortal Worlds for now, so I will increase my strength as much as possible.'
Closing his eyes, he allowed streams of time energy to flow into his Time Palace, nourishing and expanding it. His cultivation rose steadily. At the same time, he split a portion of his mind to deepen his comprehension of time abilities.
If he could extend the duration of his time pause, his strength would grow immensely.
For now, there were no enemies in the Immortal World to worry about. The Scarlet Moon Organization still existed, but he was not overly concerned. Upon returning, he planned to head straight to the royal palace.
This time, the mastermind should not be able to harm him.
Even if Eric tried, Kranos still possessed the Soul Nourishing Fruit, giving him a means to regress and cheat death.
'When he comes for me again, I will do everything in my power to uncover his true identity.'
Kathryn had been handled, her connection to him through fate severed. Now, it would be the mastermind's turn.
…
Meanwhile, elsewhere, a lady opened her eyes from deep meditation and surveyed the cultivators around her.
She was ethereal in appearance, her long black hair falling like rivers of ink over a robe of moon-white silk.
Her skin was pale as freshly fallen snow, and her eyes were like still pools reflecting the cold light of distant stars.
Even seated, there was a gravity to her presence that made those nearby unconsciously lower their heads.
Beside her sat a young man with a blood-red snake tattoo curling around his right eye.
His features were sharp, his jawline strong, and his lips thin with an almost permanent hint of a smirk.
The black robe he wore was stitched with crimson cloud-like designs, and the faint scent of metallic blood seemed to cling to him, as though it could never be washed away.
"Saintess, is something wrong?" the young man asked, his voice low and smooth, carrying a faint echo that made it seem to linger in the air.
The saintess did not answer. Instead, she turned toward the window of the spaceship, gazing into the cold expanse of distant stars.
'So, my Yin body is gone. Fortunately, I had split my regression body into Yin and Yang counterparts, placing all my negative thoughts, emotions, and karma into her.'
'Now, with my Yin body destroyed, those immortals will not be able to track me through the karma of my past life.'
Though she felt a trace of sorrow for the death of her Yin body, it was outweighed by the greater purpose it served.
'She cultivated quickly, reaching the Monarch Realm. It seems she also lost the Divine Illusion Eyes. A pity, it was a fine treasure. Unfortunately, it is gone now.'
'I would have liked to see how she died, but that would only contaminate me with her negative karma. That would lead me back to the same fate, dying at the hands of the divine immortal cultivators.'
Absorbing the cultivation her Yin body had amassed, the saintess nodded in satisfaction.
Assuming that the immortals who had killed her in her previous life had tracked her using her negative karma and killed her, she waved off the topic of her death.
The young man beside her offered a flattering smile. "Saintess, your strength has grown once more. Now we can be confident in completing the mission entrusted to us by the alliance."
The saintess's flawless face softened into a smile. "Yes. Exploring that forbidden ground should go smoothly now."
"Call the other anomalies. Tell them to prepare. We are nearing our destination."
"Yes, Saintess." The young man bowed and withdrew, leaving her private chamber.
Alone, a faint smile lingered on the saintess's lips.
'It is such a pleasure playing this chess game…'
