Chapter 45: A Complete Performance

The game was stretched now. Montlouis were pressing higher again. Even though they were losing, they felt the momentum was on their side and it would be stupid to sit back in such a scenario. Monaco B tried to stay calm, but even the most mentally elite players would be shaken even if just a little bit. They knew that they were back to the point where any single mistake could cost them dearly.

George was at the front, doing the dirty work of the striker, trying to outmuscle defenders and get something, even from a half chance. He just wanted the ball in the back of the net. Tyler became a lot more active on the left flank. He was taking on his man a lot more often, and creating little moments of magic. His efforts weren't enough though, the scoreline remained the same.

Finally, all of Monaco's efforts finally paid off, they finally managed to create a decent chance.

Montlouis had pushed bodies forward in an attack, but Tiago managed to shrug the ball off a defender. He played a pass to his team's central midfielder and started running forward. The central midfielder understood the assignment and passed it back to Tiago who was already sprinting forward.

Tiago kicked the ball into the legs of a Montlouis players who was trying to rush him and regain possession quickly. Tiago continued rushing forward and then he played a weighted pass to Tyler who was already sprinting down

The weight and power the pass was beautiful. Tyler managed to leave the Montlouis behind and got the ball under control, taking it in his stride. He then started running towards the left side of the penalty box.

Since the Montlouis right back was basically out of commission, their team's defensive midfielder covered for him and squared up against Tyler. Tyler slowed down as he approached the defensive midfielder. His legs flashed over the ball as he performed a couple of stepovers, and then feinted a run inside before kicking it between the legs of the confused defensive midfielder.

Tyler ran towards the loose ball, and he felt the Montlouis right back pulling back. He managed to get to the ball first and stopped his run. The right back also stopped suddenly and froze for a split second. Tyler used that brief moment to his favor and kicked the ball between his legs and then ran after it. The right back then chased after Tyler and was once again caught off-guard when Tyler cut back with a Ronaldo styled chop.

The right back had run a little to far, leaving Tyler with quite some space. Tyler took advantage of the space and sent a perfectly weighted cross into the box.

George was moving around in the box, causing one of Montlouis' center back to be busy. As soon as he saw Tyler set himself up for the cross, he immediately started running, and managed to shrug off the defeder that was on him. He ran towards the ball and used his head to direct it towards the near post.

The Montlouis goalkeeper couldn't even react properly. By the time he moved to get to the ball, it had already etched itself into the back of the net

["Nice block by Tiago, and he's been played in with a one-two.... Passes to Tyler Wilson and Wilson is squaring up his man. Not afraid to face his fullback is he? What a player that young man has been today just- just crosses it into the box, and George Ilekhenna is there... Ilekhennaaa! Goal ! Goal! Goal! And for the second time tonight, Monaco double their lead against Montlouis. 4-2. Surely this time, they wouldn't let their lead slip. Wonderful bit of football from them. What a goal, what a match so far!"]

George, unlike the rest of his teammates, didn't go into a frenzy after he scored. Instead, he jogged towards the small crowd, while pumping his palm downwards, doing the calma celebration. He then pointed to himself and then to the ground.

"I'm here, calma". George barely had time to say before the rest of his teammates swarmed him from behind.

Tiago clapped from behind, shouting. "Let's fucking go!"

Jeremi, who had been calm and composed so far, pumped his fists for a few seconds before shouting at his players to regroup and focus. They had still had to finish the match and he didn't need them to relax and let another goal slip.

Montlouis refused to give up after being two goals down. They continued pressing higher up the field and were pushing for the goal that would half their deficit like they had done two times prior. Unfortunately, they were a bit too desperate to score and lost their earlier discipline that made it difficult for Monaco to create chances. The way they threw bodies forward, they left a lot of spaces to be exploited on the transition... and then they were punished for it.

Montlouis lost possession deep in Monaco's half, the ball was cleared by one of Monaco B's center back, towards the left flank. He sprinted after the ball and got a hold of it. As soon as he got it under control, he turned and briefly scanned the pitch, trying to figure out the best course of action. He then spotted his team's right winger making a run to the far side and then he sent a cross field pass to the winger.

The winger got the ball under control with his first touch and then he started going on a rapid sprint down the left flank, beating the fullback marking him and the opposition defensive midfielder with pure pace. Before anyone knew what was happening, he was already at the entrance of the penalty box.

Because the ball was given to him so quickly on a counter from an attack where majority of the players committed forward, the Montlouis goalkeeper was basically isolated as the winger ran through most of the little defense that they had left.

Without wasting any time, the goalkeeper sprinted out of his line and spread his body, trying to narrow down whatever angle that the Monaco B right winger had to shoot at the goal.

The Monaco B right winger had a smile on his face when he saw the goalkeeper trying to close down the angle. It would've worked well if it was a one on one chance, but he never planned to shoot. He used the outside of his right foot to pass the ball across the box, to Tyler who had been following his run ever since he made the cross field pass.

Tyler ran to the ball and shot it into the virtually empty net, scoring Monaco's fifth goal of the game, and the game that basically killed the match off.

["What a clearance from the center back, and somehow Tyler Wilson's managed to get to the ball. And Wilson sends the ball to the other side of the pitch, and now the ball's moving, the ball's moving quick, Amal Boura has left what's left of the Montlouis defense in the dust, and he's going. The Montlouis goalkeeper has left his line and is rushing towards the young winger. Bouraa... he's squared it down to Tyler Wilson. Wilson makes the shot... Wilsonnnnn!!! Goal! Goal! Goal!. Monaco have a fifth here. What a goal?!"]

Tiago grabbed Tyler's head and shouted in his face. "Two goals, two assists, and you're having a bad game"

Tyler ran towards the sidelines and did a knee slide while pumping his fists downward. He got up and then pointed on the Monaco badge and then pointed at the section in the stands where Adi Hutter, Adrian and his other assistants were sat.

["Wilson again! What a night for the youngster. Two goals, two assists, and he's absolutely running the show now. That was ruthless. 5-2 Monaco B, and surely, surely, that's game over."]

The last five minutes ticked by with little drama. Montlouis tried half-heartedly to press, but being three goals down, they really didn't have the motivation to attack anymore.

When the referee finally blew his whistle, the pitch erupted with noise. The Monaco players celebrated together, fists in the air, high fives all around. The Montlouis players slumped on the ground, with their heads held low. The score line told a very different story to what actually occurred in the match. They tried their best, but unfortunately their best wasn't enough.

5-2. Full time.

Tyler exhaled deeply as he walked off the pitch. His shirt was damp with the sweat falling from his body, his jersey had patches of dirt on the white and his socks were feeling uncomfortable, but he had done well and he knew that.

Jeremi clapped him on the back as he passed. "Well played, Wilson. Well played."

Tiago came alongside and wrapped his arms around Tyler's head. "And you were saying that you were having a bad game".

George came along and joined the duo. "Five goals to two. Damn, we cooked them"

Tyler smirked and nodded, his head turning to where he spotted Adi Hutter and his assistants walking towards the exit of the stadium. "And coach saw all of it."
