Inside the meeting room, unexpectedly, it was Sol who took the initiative to break the silence. She introduced herself as the daughter of a merchant from the Far East.
Now facing her, everyone in the room gasped in admiration at her graciousness. Even Zennie was in a trance for a second. Eman also noticed something in Sol, she looked like she was in a good mood. But he quickly got rid of the thought out of his mind and put his focus on the current situation.
Sol noticed Zennie intently staring at her, but she didn't think anything about it. In her mind, she repeatedly said she wanted to show him, Eman, the fruit of her study. Thus, she could not mess up.
At this moment, Sol was very happy to see Eman again even though it was only last night that he visited her. Her heart fluttered like filled with millions of butterflies right at this moment. But first thing first, she needed to do something at the lady in front of her who kept staring at her and for some reason lost her words. This meeting would not progress if this continued, she thought.
Maybe realizing her worries, "Ahemn!" Zennie only got back her bearings after Miss Liz slightly cleared her throat. It was done intentionally to get back Zennie's attention.
"Uwa?! Ah am sorry, my name is Zennie Rothsport from the Rothsport town," she quickly apologized and went to introduce herself.
Eman, who had become their mediator, sent a glance at Zennie. He could read what she was thinking even without her telling him. Eman smiled wryly at her. He understood her reaction. It was understandable. She wasn't used to meeting with people.
After all, Zennie was a sheltered young lady just recently. Moreover, Sol's acting was pretty good. She embodied a rich young lady with a calm and aloof demeanor. Everyone who didn't know of her would probably feel like that towards her.
Zennie on the other hand looked slightly timid. She looked reserved and careful in front of Sol despite it being her who was part of the nobility of this country.
Eman was just silent and observing the two ladies as they started talking.
After regaining her bearings, Zennie didn't beat around the bush, she went on telling immediately about the purpose of her request to meet Sol. She also went on to tell the backstory of why she needed medicine supplies.
"Please, Lady Sol, sell to us your medicines!"
Even though her voice was a little stiff, Zennie managed to relay her message. Now it was up to Miss Sol to decide.
Sol had all the advantages in this meeting, especially in the current situation that the empire was currently in. He could use it to gain more than the actual price, but that wasn't his plan. And all along, Zennie was a good person. She was also kind to his sister. Aside from that, she was a friend.
"Yes, of course. I'll gladly sell our medicines to you."
"R-Really?"
"Mhm! They were made for that purpose, after all."
Sol's response was very natural, however, to Zennie, hearing Sol's response, made her feel very lightweight. It seemed all the worries that were weighing her for quite some time had suddenly disappeared.
The deal went smoothly. The price didn't matter because more important were the medicines. Zennie was well aware that they were already so late in schedule. But even so, she could not return home without bringing more medicine supplies. The lives of the people in her town rested on her hands, so even if Lady Sol Reia decided to overprice her medicine, she couldn't help it.
She desperately wanted the medicine. But surprisingly, Sol didn't overprice her medicines.
She wasn't only beautiful outside, but her beauty even delved deeper. Sneaking a peek at Sol's face, Zennie filled with admiration and also, there was a little worry for some reason and she wondered why she also felt the latter. Then her eyes wandered to Eman's direction at a glance. She wondered how deep Eman and Sol's relationship was.
Zennie, Rossbert, and Liz looked surprised at the amount of medicine that Sol summoned from her storage ring.
Not only that, Sol also told them that if they needed more, she could send them right away.
Zennie could not hold the joy. Beads of tears formed at the corner of her eyes. With an embarrassed face, she quickly brushed them away and apologized even though there was no need for that. She said she lost control of her tears. Eman could understand her feelings. He understood how she felt.
She wanted to save the people of her town.
After the deal was settled, Eman asked Zennie if it solved her problem. Zennie lightly shook her head. She said yes but there's a problem. Eman asked what was it.
She said they were already running out of time. And the travel from the Sunville Village to the Rothsport might take a couple of days or maybe weeks. Although the medicines she bought from the Merchant Guild were already delivered to the Rothsport Town, the amount of those medicines was not enough. It would surely not last long.
She told him they wanted to return to the Rothsport town as soon as possible. He understood.
After the meeting was concluded, Rossbert asked Eman if they could talk in private. Eman wondered what Rossbert wanted to talk with him.
"Sure," he nodded.
They went to one of the secluded rooms inside the mansion. Eman immediately asked what he wanted to talk about.
Rossbert didn't respond immediately. He seemed to be pondering. Perhaps he was choosing what to say. Eman squinted his eyes as he was waiting for Rossbert's reply without rushing him of course.
Then a moment later, Rossbert finally opened his mouth.
"A-are you the mysterious masked warrior who saved us and the Merc Town from the monster's tide and assassin attacks?"
Eman's eyes widened slightly. He wondered how Rossbert discovered him. However, the answer was quickly realized by him.
'Damn me. I forgot Rossbert knew about Sphin,' Eman facepalmed in his mind. 'Now what to do?' He thought.
Killing Rossbert to avoid his secret getting discovered by another person might be an option but it seemed he had already decided what to do.
"Yeah, that's me," he nodded calmly and admitted it. It didn't really matter if they found out about it. He could only tell them it was part of his duty as an honorary knight of the empire to protect its citizens.
"..."
Rossbert was speechless for a second, overwhelmed by shock.
"I knew it!" Rossbert failed to contain his excitement. "I'm happy to learn that it was you," he smiled as he rubbed the back of his head. His surprise and shock were apparent on his face. Even after knowing it, Rossbert was still overwhelmed by shock.
His shock was halted when Eman suddenly asked, "So are you going to expose me?" His tone of speaking was serious.
Rossbert hastily shook his head. "Eh? No no no, there's no way I would do that to our benefactor. Haha. How could I? We owe our lives to you, so we are very grateful to you.
That matters and all the help you have given us since we met, there's no way I can betray those. Don't worry, if you don't want others to know your identity, I promise none of it will come out. I'll bet my life on it. Seriously, from the beginning, I already suspected that you're not an ordinary person."
Eman blinked his eyes. "I see. Thank you then."
"No, we are the ones who should be thanking you, honestly."
So is this the reason that you wanted to talk with me?
"No. I mean yes it's part of it but… there's another reason."
"I see. What is it?"
"Uhm, I know it's presumptuous of me to ask this… but can you help Miss Zennie once again?"
Eman frowned slightly.
"Is this about the delay in the schedule that Zennie mentioned?"
"It's not only about that."
"What do you mean? Is there a problem?"
"The truth is…"
And so, Eman found himself riding on Sphin's back together with the two beauties. They were heading to Zennie's town.
