Shadow Weaver: Sole Heir Of The Night

Chapter 105: Tactical invasion

Clandora, meaning unity from many fragments. A shape unformed, reformed from several parts. This was the meaning behind the Dual Moon Institute's new name.

They were reabsorbing all other powers that stemmed from their training and forming a force that had never formed but had always been there.

That was massive news for Earth. It didn't quite move the institute up the ladder of power, but it surely gave them an astronomical boost in universal standing.

This was unprecedented.

"That planet, is that the Undead World?"

"Looks like it."

Immediately, the guests from other forces in the graduation ceremony began to stand up one after the other, beginning from WeaveTech.

"We apologise for the abruptness, but we must leave. There's an emergency at the head…."

One after the other, they all started informing their various powers to checkmate this move from the institute.

Even though they couldn't rival them yet, WeaveTech's policy was to keep the competition as weak as possible.

"Haha, that's fine, brothers, you can handle your business. Just unfortunate you won't be here to see our first boots on ground," the Grand Regent laughed, excusing them with a smile.

His words forced them to stop in their tracks, forcing them to look back.

Boots on the ground?

It was then they realized that several ships had flown into orbit of the planet. These included around 20 Titan-class bombers and several cargo ships.

Before their very eyes, dozens of weavepods shot out from these cargo crafts and barreled towards the ground, implanting themselves headfirst into the atmosphere before crashing into the ground.

Deep inside WeaveTech, a group of weavers wearing special apparel locked themselves inside their weavepods one after the other before activating them.

Seconds later—

"Form a perimeter, we must secure a 1 km radius!"

One after the other, weavers appeared on the planet surface at different locations and immediately started securing their foothold to fight against the eventual flood of corruption.

"Hmp!! Before we get to base, I want to know which planet that is and who sold the rights to them," a WeaveTech envoy cursed, then without looking, walked off the stage.

He would not give them the satisfaction of laughing at him. This was not the time for jokes; they had to get to the bottom of what Inkous was planning.

"Sore losers," Inkous responded as a massive smile appeared on his face.

Meanwhile—

[Welcome to Galafray]

The sound in Enzo's weavepod resounded as he slowly sat up and scratched his head. Looking around briefly, he saw the hustle and bustle in the crowd surrounding him.

They had set up a massive fence, observation towers, and were in the process of implanting turrets into the ground.

As Enzo raised his head and viewed the sky, a sudden feeling of familiarity struck him, the words from before finally sitting in the middle of his mind.

'Galafray?'

Enzo was taken aback, his mind clouded and at a loss for words. This couldn't be, could it? This couldn't be Galafray.

And yet, his guts told him something else.

"Double up, kid, we need to join up with Master Seth at the gate," suddenly, one of the members of the 20-man unit from Defi approached Enzo and pointed towards the gate.

A notification then popped up on his HUD indicating just that.

Getting out of the weavepod, Enzo approached the group in front where Master Seth stood.

"Good, you're all here. We're at a crucial stage, as you must know. We need to settle our base of operations and make sure nothing interrupts us before that.

All of you here have received ample scout training, so you will move in 8 directions in a straight line. Your mission is to record and gauge the activities in your line of sight.

Corrupted, rivers, mountains, and structures. I want details of everything you see sent to command. If you deem a target too much of a threat, let HQ know, we will neutralize it.

This is not a game, people. As of now, you're not students. Move out."

Master Seth gave his commands and opened the gates, allowing everyone to move out in teams of three.

Their goals were clear.

One after the other, groups of weavers spread into the unknown, slowly mapping out terrain and sending information to the base.

One person wasn't doing that though, as he sat on a rock looking outwards towards a series of peaks.

A memory flew through his mind as he watched unmoved.

"We're going to head forward. Join us when you're ready," suddenly Zeke's voice resounded, his body bathed in flames as he flew through the air.

Enzo, after coming in a few miles, had suddenly stopped moving and sat. At first, they thought he had noticed something, but now… it was just wasting time.

"Sure," Enzo casually waved, then turned back to where he was looking.

This really was Galafray. A lot had changed. The planet had way more signs of civilization than before with scattered towns in the horizon, but definitely—

This was Galafray.

"It makes sense," Enzo nodded, flipping a coin and catching it.

The Grand Regent had been actively looking for traces of the Red God. Where else to find it than on the planet she ascended? This, of course, placed Enzo more in a moral dilemma.

'The planet is in ruin. She's definitely not here anymore. I shouldn't tell anyone that I recognize this place though, it will just bring unnecessary attention. What if they ask us to head to the Grand Canyon? I doubt that sentient blood is still alive, but those creatures… only Master Inkous will be able to handle them.'

Sitting there for a good 10 minutes more helped Enzo clear his mind. Eventually, he was able to smile. It looked like he had a deeper destiny with Galafray than he originally thought.

As night came to Galafray in its usual unpredictable fashion, the troops made their way back after exploring a 7-kilometer radius around the encampment.

"We can't let corrupted creatures roam around the temporary base!!"

"Those things are barely above Great Warrior. The first years can handle them. Our first goal is to take Rune City."

"You people are always so reckless. If we can't secure our area, how are we going to take a city crawling with abominations?"

"Don't you know the universe is watching?"

Inside the command room, a bunch of individuals exchanged not just words and opinions but also curses.

The two organizations under Master Seth's regiment were called…

Heavenly Berserkers and the Cloak of Shade.

They were already quite famous on the universe stage. Hearing that they had allowed themselves to be subordinated had drawn a lot of talk from their rivals.

They had to prove to them that this force… the Dual Moon Clandora, their home, was a force to be reckoned with, so the issue of how to achieve initial success was a matter of serious concern.

"That's enough." Suddenly, Master Seth's voice resounded, his gaze panning through the room with a fierce but exhausted look.

He could understand where each of them was coming from. They all wanted success, but he also understood that one couldn't rush success.

"We will attempt to seize a part of the city in 4 cycles. Before then, we will send a troop out to gather information on what to expect inside Rune City. It will be an effort on everyone's end…" Master Seth spoke.

No one dared argue, of course. Master Seth had trained more than half the people in this room, so most wouldn't dare object to him unless it was genuine.

"Titus, Wolfie, and… Malvran, you three will join the initial team. With Darth and Lios, when you get to the halfway point, disengage and attack the creatures in the surrounding area while using the runes as cover. Make sure every material is sent back to base in one piece. Every contribution will be recorded, and rewards will be distributed," Master Seth explained his plans.

This was a plan that had been in the making for years. In fact, they weren't the first to try to conquer this world, but they would be the last.

While this was happening on the ground…

"Welcome, Time Lord Darco."

In a ship hovering a few hundred kilometers above Galafray, a man with a bald head and the sign of a sand clock on his forehead walked forward.

Time Lord. This was the title given to demi-gods in WeaveTech!!

"Hm, so they actually came to Galafray, huh?" Smiling evilly, the man with the bald head mocked, looking at the ships in orbit around Galafray.

It was a funny sight to behold that with these numbers, Inkous thought he could really take this nightmare of a world.

Even WeaveTech had failed once upon a time.

Was Inkous retarded? Or did he know something they didn't?

"Can you confirm the assassin that killed Fin?" he asked casually.

"Yes, the killer is rumored to be Lionheart Rage from the Heavenly Berserkers. We found traces of his timestamp at the scene even though it was concealed," his attendant explained.

After which, Darco smiled evilly and said,

"Wave the main ship and tell them if they don't hand Lionheart over, we will open fire on their cargo ships… they have 5 minutes to respond."
