"I don't like this." – said the guild master as a meeting was being held by the high-ranking adventurers.

"You are talking about the location?" – asked Adam as he stared down at the map was laying on top of the box.

"Yea…. Honestly speaking, I couldn't really use my familiars any longer to monitor the inside of the forest, since it looks like the golems are once again on the defensive." – replied elderly elf.

"However, I can confirm one thing."

"The golems are nowhere near the edge of the forest."

"Well, at least we are gained some room to breathe. Don't we?" – said the thunder mage.

"Tch. We shouldn't had fucking ran away in the first place!" – said annoyed young human male who carried a sword on his back.

"We could had easily dealt with those fucking golems!"

"And we would face loses you bloody brat!" – said pissed off Adam.

"The fuck you said?!" – said pissed off young man as he without hesitation instantly tried grabbing his blade, alarming everybody gathered.

"ENOUGH!" – shouted the elderly elf, instantly stopping both men.

"…"

"Markus." – said the elderly elf as he turned towards young man.

"I know you are talented adventurer and everything."

"But you lack way too much as a leader."

"You maybe B rank, but that doesn't mean that you are right in every single thing you say."

"Do we understand each other?"

"…"

"Tch."

"Fine." – said the young man.

"…"

(Markus.) – thought the elderly elf.

(A B-rank adventurer that raised through the ranks at impressive speed, straight up quickly earning his B-rank.)

(He is both talented and powerful... But I guess it has gotten to his head.)

(He over prideful and over confident.)

(He caused a lot of commotions in recent times, even straight up pulling out a sword and slashing a guy he was arguing with, in the middle of the adventurer guild.)

(Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact we needed somebody strong, I wouldn't even dare to try and recruit that bastard….)

(Still, at least we also have these two.) – thought the elderly elf as he stared at the at two humans, a male one with bangs covering left side of his face and a female one with a long pony tail.

(Mawa and Elizabeth.)

(Both of them are also talented people.)

(Honestly, with just these 3 we can have them deal with some of more powerful enemies….)

"Let's go over some details that we had confirmed."

"Enemy can only replace their numbers, but they don't have ability to recover."

"We can lick our wounds, but on the other hand, the enemy can't."

"Using this, we can play a long game of wearing down our foes and making them easy targets for us to take down."

"However, the problem is that the enemy leader has also been confirmed to possess some form of intelligence."

"And high enough to make some annoying moves."

"The enemy will definitely not play this way if we try to focus on stalling."

"The second problem is enemy numbers."

"They are high and we don't know how high exactly it is."

"Third problem is related to the 3 new golem types."

"The giant hound golem, the ballista golem and the tank golem."

"These 3 are most problematic foes right now."

"One specializes in speed, one specializes in pure offence while the last one specializes completely in defense."

"The tank golem seems to have some form of magic resistance attached to it… I hit it with somewhat strong spell, but it was able to take it on." – said thunder mage.

"While being protected by the tank, ballista would fire its shot and the big hound golem would rush us down."

"The biggest danger out of all 3 of these golems seems to be the ballista golem."

"Since its attack power is way too high to be looked down upon."

"And it can also fire from long range… Honestly, the forest somewhat is helping us out in that regard." – said the Adam's elven companion.

"If that thing had a clear line of sight, it would definitely have easier time spotting and shooting us down…. Then again, the forest is also restricting our movements somewhat in some areas."

"Which is why we need to take down the ballista." – said guild master.

"Once we take them down, the casualties rate on our side will scientifically die down."

"But the problem is how do we do it?"

"Considering the fact that they were guarded in case of long-range attacks proves that the enemy is aware of the ballista golem value."

"Then, can I do it?" – asked Mawa as he raised up his hand.

"I'm not much when it comes down to large scales battles, but when it comes to picking off individual, I'm the best bet here."

"…"

"I think I should be able to distract the enemy for the moment, even managing to somewhat block off the ballista shots."

"…"

"Can you two, do it?" – asked elderly elf.

"Yeb." – replied both B-rank adventurers.

"…"

"Very well." – said the elderly elf.

"We will let you two handle the ballista golems."

"However, we still need to come up with the rest of our course of action."

"So, does anybody have bright ideas?"

The meeting went on for several hours and preparations as well as recovery of the injured adventurers also took some time.

And upon arrival of the third day, the adventurers has once again set out to the golem forest once the sun has fully risen.

[Second attempt: Begin]

"…."

"…I'm back." – said the hooded figure as he jumped down from the top of the tree.

"So, what is the situation?" – asked Adam.

"Well… By the looks of things, the enemy entire army has gathered up in one place and are currently heading in our direction." – said hooded figure.

"By the looks of things, they are planning on doing a head on attack."

"A head on attack? This seems stupid for them." – said Markus.

"…True…. But we cannot deny a possibility of a trap being set up by these creatures." – said Adam.

"Remember, they still have not used the bombs."

"There is good chance that they can still unleash them at the moment notice."

"And with that being said, don't let your guard down." – said Adam as the army of adventurers marched through the forest, heading straight towards the golems, who in turn awaited the invaders arrival.

"…"

"!"

"Enemy in sight!" – shouted the tank adventurer as golems revealed themselves to the adventurers.

"!"

"SHIELDS! NOW!" – shouted Adam as the tanks instantly deployed their shields and mages deployed their barriers, creating a defensive multilayer layer protection against enemy projectiles.

"!"

"Hey! These fuckers are not moving!" – shouted the mage, noticing that the enemies were not trying to close up the distance.

"These bastards are trying to keep attacking us from afar! We need to push forward and-"

"!"

"BALISTA!" – shouted Adam, noticing the golems moving aside, revealing 5 ballista golems lined up.

"My turn!" – shouted Elizabeth as she used one of the adventurers as the stepping platform, before then jumping right above the defensive line.

"I will deal with the two at left! Focus your entire defense on the middle and right side!"

The ballista golems fired all at once at, exacting the young lady as she instead of running away, she ran right ahead against the massive bolts.

"{Doryanthes Excelsa Spear Art: Perfect Dance}!" – the young lady used both of her short spears, swinging them around and forming a gently path, which clashed with giant bolts.

And in that very instance, the gently trail left behind by the spears suddenly transformed into a raging slash as the girl swung her short spears once again, striking the giant bolts instantly.

The two giant bolts ended up changing their direction, flying to the side before then smashing right into ground, while the adventurers stacked up their defenses in 3 points, somewhat blocking the ballista shots.

"!"

"W-we good!" – said the tank that fallen down on the ground from the impact.

"Y-yea! No casualties! We are good to go!"

"Good!" – said the young lady wielding two spears as she then started gracefully yet violently blocking off the hail of crossbow bolts.

"How about you do your thing now?! Mawa!?" – shouted the young lady as from the shadows of the trees a man with one handed axes jumped out and smashed to the bits ballista golem's weapon, disarming the creature right underneath the tank golem's nose.

"!"

The golems all around the ballista golem noticed the man and instantly tried attacking him, but he quickly jumped on top of the ballista golem and jumped off it, quickly getting right amongst the tree branches as the crossbow golems fired at the man.

"…"

But hit nothing as the man quickly disappeared out of the golem's sight.

"Ohohohohoho!"

"Told you we would do it!" – said the confided young lady as she continues easily blocking off the hail of bolts all on her own.

"With us two around, you have nothing to worry about!"

"We will deal with the ballistae like planned, meanwhile you guys take on the rest of these bastards, okay?"

"GOT IT!" – shouted Adam.

"You heard her! Move!"

"TAKE DOWN THESE FUCKERS!"
