MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary TimeKeeper

Chapter 76: How not to dance at a ball party?

"Take a left step."

Raven said, guiding Mikael. A gentle voice that helped him step by step, making sure to reduce his mistakes as much as possible.

"Not there."

She added. Fixing his position, his movements and his flow.

"Be gentle."

She guided him once more. As he misstepped sometimes, sometimes danced on her foot, and sometimes clicked her knee with his. She closed her eyes for a brief moment before trying to find another way to improve.

"Didn't I say not to take a left step?"

She spoke, annoyance creeping into her voice as she repeated the same thing for the 30th time, yet the improvement, which should have come at the very beginning, was not within miles of her vision.

"Mr. Anothony…"

Finally, she took a deep breath.

"Can you just follow my rhythm?"

She asked once. Politely. Continued two more steps, and he messed up again.

"Can you fucking follow my rhythm?"

She asked again. Not so politely this time.

Raven was exhausted.

Her shoulders drooped. She was far more tired than she had ever been in training. This wasn't just a physical challenge, but a mental one, too. The man in front of her, the guy who seemed to be so charismatic a few moments ago, enough to capture any lady's heart, was somehow so…

Raven didn't even have the energy to think about a curse word right now.

30 minutes ago, if she were to be asked a question, that is, if it were harder to learn how to dance, or teach someone dancing once you have learned it. The proud Raven would definitely have chosen the former. That was one thing she was most confident of. Teaching, that is.

Even in her den, not talking about dancing but other skills, she usually taught the newcomers a bunch of skills to protect themselves and a few tricks to improve their aims faster. She had done it in her free time when she had nothing else to do, or at times, when elders specifically tasked her to do so. One can say that she even had a talent for it.

Yet.

Just what the fuck is wrong with him? She thought as she couldn't understand the man in front of her. He looked at her with an apologetic smile, getting ready to learn once again, despite failing at the very least 50 times in less than 5 minutes.

Why did I even though it was okay to accept his hand? She cursed her past self before moving forward, wondering if there was any meaning in doing what she was doing right now.

"I was about to ask him for a dance," not so far from them, Alexandra spoke out, observing the awkward duo. There was a hint of embarrassment in her voice, with a hint of relief mixed in. Somewhere in there was also pity for the black-haired girl, Miss Black, who was trying so hard to get Mr. Anthony to dance at least one step properly.

"Shouldn't they stop now?" Aurora spoke, not being able to bear this embarrassing sight any more. Though she did not say it like Alexandra, she too wanted to ask Mr. Anthony for a dance if she had the chance to do so. Previously, she even wondered why Mr. Anothony went so far away to the opposite side, just to ask a random girl to dance with him, rather than any of the women here.

But now that she had seen what she had seen.

-Phew!

An exaggerated sigh of relief escaped between her lips as she looked at Mr. Anthony, who was barely able to dance. Never in her life had she been this grateful for not being able to do something.

Putting it politely… he sucked at it. She thought as she made a mental note never to ask Mr. Anthony for a dance on any occasion whatsoever.

Beside Aurora, stood the white hair Rothrak, Silva. She had been facing away from the couple for a few minutes now, her eyes focused on anything but what was going on at the center. The pride in her eyes was now substituted with a second-hand embarrassment, making her rethink her choices once more.

I mean, he is indeed getting as much attention as before, but… can't he stop now? She mumbled in a low voice, believing that this was all an act. There was no way someone could be this bad at dancing. Especially when her partner was this careful and this good at teaching.

Even she learnt a few things just by watching and listening to this Miss Black, who was somehow still teaching Mikael with all the patience she could muster.

I would have slapped and cursed him a few times by now, or at least left him on his own. She thought as she tried to put herself in Miss Black's position. Silently, she even cheered for her.

Just like everyone else at the party.

A few moments later, she turned to look at the embarrassing duo once again, and a sigh of relief escaped her mouth as she saw Mikael finally letting Miss Black go, thanking for the effort she had put, before taking a step back.

Then she couldn't help but chuckle, looking at the other ladies around Mikael, looking away, taking a step back. Their urgent look as they desperately tried to find someone, anyone, to dance with them, made her giggle a bit. Even Aurora and Alexandra had amused smiles on their faces as they saw the situation.

Mikael turned in Silva's direction and gave a slight shrug before moving towards her and the other two girls. Looking at him coming in their direction, their pupils shrank. A bit worried, wondering if he was going to ask them for a dance, each of them prepared their own excuse, ready to decline him in a polite way.

No way, they were going to say 'yes' if he asked for a dance.

Though before anything could happen…

"SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A burning man fell from the first floor. His body torched as he fell down in the center of the two stairs and instantly succumbed to his own death.
