MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary TimeKeeper

Chapter 98: Cleaning up

Here, it should be fine. I concluded as I had avoided a dozen cameras, erased my traces, and I had gone through a dozen alleyways before reaching a secluded corner where anyone would barely visit.

Taking the black mask from my bag, I first covered my face, then with a black bandana, I hid my hair as well. Wearing a black hoodie as compared to the white sweatshirt that I was wearing, I covered the rest of my head as well.

Lastly, I took out a black goggle and wore it to hide my eyes as well.

Can't do much about my build. I thought, as the baggy hoodie was barely able to hide my physique. Though it should be enough for now to erase my traces.

One step at a time, I began walking towards the secluded parts of the area where my today's target was.

The Strokes family, as I have said before, was famous for its chain of shopping marts and shopping complexes. During these years, they were barely growing, but as time would pass, they were going to be a leading business in this industry.

As far as shopping complexes go, I wouldn't have touched them. But the main problem was that this whole business was a facade hiding an ugly secret that the Strokes family ran.

Drugs.

If one ever searched a compartment of items that was being transported from one branch to another, there was a 90% chance that they would find heroin, cocaine or meth in it.

Though rather than production, the main line that Strokes ran was of transport. By themselves, the total drug production was barely a few percent of what they actually transported.

So there was a huge question mark on the topic of this secret never getting out. And more importantly, how were they sold in the market without anyone knowing?

The answer to that lay in the alleyways of the city, where the local hoodlums and gangsters stayed. The gangs, which often consisted of children who ran away from home, and gangsters were outcasts of the society.

The gangs harassed the other markets, reducing their growth, and even declining their profits. They sold the drugs to nearby homeless or high school children, and many times forced the others to sell drugs as well.

They were the backbone of the Strokes, and the main reason for their development. Both of the shopping marts as well as the drug transportation.

Even in this city, there were three gangs running their rules and helping out the Strokes family.

One of them consisted of homeless people who filled the entire city's space, more often than not, found almost everywhere you can look.

The homeless would do anything for money. They were easier to manipulate and control than the other gangs. But the fact that they would do anything for money also meant that they were the least trustworthy. If someone else gives them more money than you, they would easily turn against you in the blink of an eye.

The other consisted of local mafia that had their trace at least a few decades old. These gangs were mostly branches that had connections to a main city, which overseed and guided them.

Since their roots were strong, their connections and loyalty also ran deep. Many families, not just the Strokes, treated them with respect and had taken them on an equal standing. Especially because of the threat they possess to them.

Lastly, the high schoolers who wanted to play gangs.

Unlike the homeless driven for money, or the mafia who valued loyalty, the high school gangs were generally a bunch of teenagers running on hormones.

They were divided between the different high school groups, most of the time had infighting between them and were the worst of the three given they wet their pants in a real fight.

Since we only had a day to spare, and the amount of resources I had were limited, I had chosen one of the high school gangs nearby and erased their gang's existence from the city.

It won't have a major impact on the Strokes, but it was a good place to start with. I mumbled as I reached near the entrance of an abandoned factory. This was the main base of Shirazawa High School, a C-grade high school that ran more on extortion and bribes than the fees of the students.

"Hey, stop there."

As I walked closer, one of the kids, a brown-haired one, stood in my way. A cigarette in one hand and a metal bat in the other, he looked at me with a menacing look on his face.

"Huh? Who the fuck are you? Do you even know where you are walking to, Mister?" He asked as his eyes looked at my clothes and getup.

Well, let's begin, shall we? I smiled as I then took a step.

-Dash!

-Bam!!

One step forward, and then a kick to the abdomen, aimed at the diaphragm. Enough to make him suffocate for a brief moment, but not enough to kill him.

Unable to react, his eyes opened wide as they looked at me. With the shock still visible on his face, he held his stomach before slowly falling to the ground, and soon turning unconscious. The metal bat in his hand fell on the ground beside him, attracting the attention of the other kids in the distance.

Picking up the metal bat first, I checked its strength with a few light swings in the air.

Not bad. I thought before turning to the kids, who were approaching me, running at their full speed. Slight rage, visible on the face of the first one, worry apparent on the other's expressions as they made their way towards here.

5 of them. Hmmm… only one has strength. As for skills? Doesn't seem like anyone has one. I did a quick calculation as I waited for the closest one to reach me. The only one that seemed to be impacted by my defeating the other kid. He was also the only one with a weapon, a kitchen knife in his hand.

"You son of a-"

-Bam!!!

A focused hit on the jaw, powerful enough to break a few bones and teeth, but not too much to impact the cranium.

Taking a deep breath, I took a side-step, dodging the second one, and then moving in a 360-degree as I aimed at the shoulder-joint of the third one.

-Bam!!

Not quite perfect. I analyzed as I didn't hear the 'crack' sound that I was aiming for. It should have been strong enough to hospitalize him for a month or two. Now, at most, I had dislocated his joint.

Well. I suppose I got a bit rusty, too. I thought as I looked at the other two, who were now standing at a distance, their eyes filled with fear. It didn't seem like they had the guts to attack me. Especially after looking at their mates falling on the ground so easily.

As for the last one, I am pretty sure he was behind me. And based on the experience I had with these kids in my previous life, I am 110% sure he was going in for a grapple.

Predictable. I sighed as I hit behind me, without even looking.

-Bam!!

Oh! That was quite a hit. A bit alarmed, I turned around, observing his bleeding head as he fell on the ground, groaning in pain just like the others.

That looks bad. I thought as I observed his head.

"You might wanna check that with the doctor. Hemo- I mean internal bleedings can kill you pretty fast, you know?" I spoke in a slightly concerned tone, making him widen his eyes. Standing up, he almost fell on his feet before he barely managed to walk a few steps away from here.

Sigh.

"You two," turning to the two who were still standing," take him to the hospital. I didn't come here to kill today."

I saw the kids gulping as they looked at me, a bit concerned about something.

"Are you worried about your boss or something?" I asked.

Most of these kids work here under pressure or in the case of bullying. While it makes sense to work under someone powerful to stay clear of other bullies, it's not a decision that many would like to make.

Even though the kids did not nod, I saw their eyes flickering a bit. Reading their faces, I then looked at the ones fallen on the ground, still tending to the pain they were having.

Hmmm. The dislocation might turn into an infarction. I observed as I moved closer to him. I placed my hands in the proper position.

-Click!

Then fixed it before saying,

"Don't worry about that." I spoke in a slight bored tone.

Honestly, high school kids should just do high school stuffs. Leave the gang stuff for the adults, will you? I thought a bit amused at their current situation.

My eyes looked at the guy whose shoulder I had just dislocated and then fixed. His eyes confused, he observed me with fear, and a bit of rage that he was suppressing. With a slight chuckle, I then stood up and then picked up the bat once again before beginning to move deeper into the abandoned factory,

"After all… This gang won't be existing anymore," I added with a slight unamused expression on my face.

"The-" one of the kids, who was standing against me, his eyes observed me with a deep gaze as he then added,

"The boss is a black belt in judo."

"Thank you," I smiled as I slightly nodded before moving deeper into the abandoned factory.

Judo, huh? Perhaps we can have a little excitement in this dull place too, huh? I thought, wondering, as I walked deeper into the place.
