Deal with The Devil!

Chapter 99: The Day Finally Arrived

If Jinn had any misconception that growing older and wiser would make it easier for him to learn a new language from scratch, it all vanished fifteen minutes into the class.

Professor Wyatt had told them that there were many languages people used before Martian became their mother tongue.

Thankfully, they did not have to learn all of these languages.

Throughout the two years of their academy, they will learn only three of the major languages.

"These three languages will be found in every common and uncommon ruin. There are rarely any ruins that have any other language."

He then told them that if they wished, they could learn other languages in their spare time, as it would make their value higher in the eyes of any employer who would hire them.

After introducing the three languages, he started with the alphabets of the first language.

The Raulian Language.

"…"

The memories that Jinn wished to forget resurfaced when he heard the familiar name embedded in the language's title.

Throughout the class, he tried his best not to think about it.

By the time the class ended, Jinn had familiarized himself with every alphabet and its pronunciation, but he still had to memorize them.

"You have any class now?" Jinn turned to his benchmate after the professor left.

He stood up and stretched and packed the books in his easy-go bag.

"Information Structure by…"

"Mary Dunn. I recall her from our orientation."

"Indeed…"

One of the two girls hesitated while looking in the direction of Jinn. But when she saw him walking out of the class with Evelyn, she chose to stay silent.

***

After attending a class on intelligence gathering, it was time for lunch. Jinn returned to the top floor to eat before leaving to check up on his roommate.

"Argh!"

"Please be gentle!"

As soon as he entered the hospital wing, he could hear painful and disturbing screams echoing from different beds.

A young and beautiful nurse attended each bed, while an older and much meaner-looking woman kept watch over them all.

The head nurse saw Jinn walking in, and her eyes lit up.

"Are you hurt? Do you need medical attention?" She threw one question after the other at him.

"No, I am here to visit a friend." Jinn said this while he looked around the room.

The patients mostly had bruises or cuts, but what shocked him was the way they were being treated.

Bam!

Thump!

"Ahhh! Kmooooo."'

The nurses would place their palm on the bruise or small cuts before raising it in the air and…

Bam!

They would punch the injury over and over again.

Jinn trembled all over and wished to never be injured in his life.

He could see their methods were not fake and were taking effect. Some sort of green energy was entering the patient's body and reducing the injury, slowly healing it.

But…

The devilish grin on the faces of the nurses…

'Am I really a devil?'

"The real patients are behind the curtain; you can check and go through it." Seeing Jinn lost in thought, the head nurse spoke up, waking him up from the nightmarish trance.

"Real patients?"

What do you mean by real patients?

What were these people then? Playthings?

Several questions popped into Jinn's head, but he did not voice them all out.

"These are just students who are here to learn healing techniques. Second years. We also teach the healing class here. Healing is a basic necessity of any fight."

Jinn finally understood the real meaning behind her dark sentence and walked away.

He did not walk through the curtain to see the state of his roommate, but instead, he turned around and left the room, leaving the head nurse puzzled.

'I hope you stay alive, Dean. There is no bad blood between us now.' Jinn silently prayed as he left the area and returned to the next class he had to attend.

The combat training.

Finally, it was time for the physical class. The class he had been waiting for!

But sadly, when Jinn arrived, he received terrible news. The teacher was on leave. He had taken the day off due to some personal reasons, and they were free to do anything they wanted.

Hearing this, Jinn was both disappointed and happy.

He was happy because he could spend more time on the thing he had been longing for most.

Rushing to his room, Jinn locked the door and sat on the ground in the living room before taking out the small booklet, which Professor Olivia gave them.

It was time.

He was finally going to try it.

He was finally going to advance in his power system.

He hurriedly flipped through the pages of the book. The first book posed the same warning as the professor had been giving them the entire time.

DO NOT TRY ANYTHING WITHOUT HAVING THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF CONTROL.

The bold words had covered the entire page diagonally.

The second page was filled with different methods to increase the control of the energy.

On the third page, there was a very neat and complex diagram of the human body.

Not just the outline, he could see the complex structure of various organs and thick lines that he assumed to be the veins or arteries connecting them.

He glanced at the images, committing them to the heart, and then flipped the page.

Chhhrrr….

On the left side was a small dot in the middle of the page with nothing else around it.

And on the next page, there was nothing. Just an empty sheet of paper.

'What is this supposed to be?' Jinn frowned at the empty page and thought he had gotten a defective copy.

"You need at least the control of level ten before even accessing the contents of this book."

Then he recalled the words the professor had said in the class. As if thinking of something, he placed a finger on the dot and channeled his dragon energy through it.

Soon the dot became wide enough that he could see even with his finger placed on it.

It continued to expand before splitting up into thousands of words, crawling over the page like ants.

Soon the dot disappeared, and the pages were now filled with lines upon lines.

Jinn's gaze drifted to the title of the first chapter on the top.

"Chakra Points And How To Evolve Them."
